ReadyCLOUD for Android
In contradiction to what is written down in some reviews, this app does let you upload files. It is under the share function. It does exactly what it is supposed to do, with an option to do an automated media backup per household device in a dedicated folder. Very cool personal cloud service.
App works well for what it is , however as I can download a document using this to make some last minute changes it would be really useful if I could upload it too , come on guys get up to date with the competition nobody uses download only now , even Tonido the free pc cloud software lets you upload and download using their free app as you want , catch up guys or your gonna be left behind like the Windows phone.
So far so good, didn't register properly first time but all ok now with my nighthawk router. Has backed up fone albums pretty fast. Working well Shame app doesn't have an upload feature, but desktop version does so not all bad.
(((NETGEAR TEAM - PLEASE ADD ENCRYPTION!))) This app works well, but make sure the hard drive attached to the router has auxiliary USB power. The netgear Nighthawk does NOT provide enough power to run a 2.5" drive on its own. Without extra power you'll notice this app does not connect or sync properly. The same goes for Netgear ReadyShare Vault desktop app. This can be solved by connecting a USB Y cable to the hard drive, with one branch connected to a USB AC adapter, and the other connected to the router.
Offline completely as of March 31,2017. Unable to access my drives at all from app or web. Many clients in the same situation as per online search. Complete let down. Not impressed. Accessing my files by connecting drives via sata to another computer directly. NAS is now useless and netgear hasn't reached out in any way to explain or comment on the situation.
Very slow to connect/view files. It recognizes the router quickly, but not the connected drive...at least not readily. Accessing via Chrome has been much more reliable.
So far it's done everything I've wanted it to do. I've read reviews that say it won't upload but it's accomplished every upload I've tried rather handily....:-)
Totally pathetic. Completely failed to login using valid credentials. Yet chrome browser worked fine. Throw it away and start from scratch.
Was unable to connect to my ReadyNAS from my app or the Web, and all uploading quit on March 29. After uninstalling the app, restarting my phone, checking my network connection, and powering down my device. Went online and tried to Discover my device (unsuccessful) then I noticed in the upper right hand corner the ability to search for the device by its serial number. My device was found and needed a firmware update. Once that was complete I was able to Manage my device. Under the Cloud tab I found ReadyCLOUD (allows app access) needed to be switched back on. I can now once again access my files from the app. Hopefully this discovery will help others that have been offline since the end of March.
Would love to use it.. but crashes constantly....
Every time I open this app it just shuts down, of no use at all.
It doesn't work on my Oneplus 3. The Router connects, then all it says is "refreshing" and it won't come over this state
Beginner's never understand, but it work's like a charm! Better yet learn system administrator to be a master of this, and don't ferget your IP address.
Some times app seems to get stuck and drians battery.
Can't use it for anything.Cause the crashes are always there.I can't even login sometimes cause who knows? Basically you can use it just to see if your router/modem is online and healthy...
App stopped working after my nighthawk firmware updated last week. R7900
It's draining my battery in the back ground.
User interface and controls can be better. I also expect that multiple files can be selected for download. Try to add functionalities that exist in apps like Dropbox and other cloud apps.
Not able to upload file or folder. Not able to download a folder. Not able to delete or move file or folder.
The app appears to always be on and consumes too much power when not in use.
Its draining the battery so bad
It's okay but I wish I could download folders.
Broken after update 3/30/17
Works OK now for some strange reason
connected OK, don't see facility to upload files ,can not see that it has a share function
Drains the battery in the background. Photo viewing capabilities are very limited...
Netgear, please fix a bug: I was surprised to see depleted storage on my NAS. After searching for large dirs, I realized that all my images were backed up 14 times (14 copies each) with 15th round in progress! Otherwise, very useful app in conjunction with ReadyNAS device. I love Netgear product line and use a number. I will set stars to 4-5 once this bug is fixed.
It won't let me connect if I am not in my personal wifi. I only bought it to backup Fotos on the go from mobile phones but it does not let me sync. If I loose my phone on a holiday all moments of my family are lost and that s..ks. Very disappointed that netgear customers get treated like this when they bought a product having trust it'll work.
This app seems to take several goes to connect but after getting it going, seems to work fairly well. Not many features as yet so needs a bit of work still. Find it doesn't recognise many sound formats for instance so if I want to stream my music to my phone it tends to download them instead which is a nuisance. Would be nice if I could save things to my NAS from my phone but no upload ability. At the moment, the app has limited use.
Actually worked for a day. Then either won't connect or refreshing forever. Fiddling around for couple hours unregistered device, re-register device, complete uninstall on all devices, caches cleared, etc on and on with no resolution. Just a waste of time.
App works when I connect from local network. Not when I go outside. It keep saying "disconnected". There is no option to reconnect. Update2: after 1.2.10, I can no longer connect from outside. It keeps saying "refreshing".
Seems to have a hard time connecting. Takes a very long time. Once connected everything does seem to work as it should. Even over my own WiFi network where the device is installed, it's takes a very long time.
Had my Netgear r7000 for almost 2 years. Finally decided to use the Ready cloud and add my portable hard drive to access anywhere over the net. I upgraded the firmware, then downloaded and reg the app. Took me at least an hour to understand the directions, create an account. It worked for about 2 hours. Walked away for a couple hours, came back, it no longer sees my hard, and the FAQ has no info on the problem. After reading all others negative reports, my hard drive now has triple copies of everything, and
Given all the reviews complaining about getting connections to work I was surprised how well it worked connecting to my phone or tablet. I am not using it to upload anything to my NAS just the occasional download from it, so why does it have to sit running in the background using huge amounts of battery? -- EDIT -- Been using it for a few days now and it's using 54 percent of my battery if I could find an alternative this would be uninstalled.
This app only connects sometimes, more frustrating than useful.
My screen has been on for 2 hours since unplugging my phone. Ready cloud has used 30% more battery than the screen and it hasn't been used once today.
Connects thru WiFi but cellular is still not working even with cellular backup on. Defeats the purpose of having a cloud feature for me. Contacted support but no reply
This is a very barebones app in terms of function. That's when it actually works. I have a queue of 80 photos to backup because it just...stopped. And now I can't even connect to the NAS anymore.
Not opening on OnePlus 3 running cyanogen. Please fix asap. Completely worthless right now.

This build is always on and add's itself into the system startup as a result will impact your data utilisation and cpu which totally destroyed my battery usage.. Ive since killed the auto startup and only run this when I need it.. Might want to consider changing how this app behaves in the background
