The app doesn't work all that well. And I guess the iPhone version is the only one the graphics designers worked on because the app on the box looks nothing like this one which looks like it was designed by children with a box of crayons.

the app only works if your neotv is already connected to the internet. I tried to manually connect my device, but I can't scroll down to the settings menu (to either connect to WiFi or to find the IP address) without a remote. My phone is ready to connect, but there's no way I can communicate with the neotv (because I'm on a wifi network that's new to my device). It's an infuriating paradox. If I were able to get past this step, this app would probably work just fine.

My dog ate my remote and I found this app and was very grateful! It worked great until I brought the box to a friends house and had no way to connect to the box because it was not connected to the internet.... It has a manual seting for an IP address which would help if I could connect to find the IP address. Why not use the serial number as a connector so that you don't need internet?

The reason you can't power it on and off is because when your unit is off it's no longer connected to WiFi...and the app requires WiFi to function, it's not IR...kind of obvious...Its slow to register sometimes but otherwise works great.

Good app, once you get connected. My friend gave me the player, which was cool. The down side was she couldn't find the remote. The app remote, of course won't work unless your already connected to wifi. It took 2 weeks to get the player working. I just happen to have a s3 tab with a IR reader! AND I DOWNLOADED EVERY FREAKING REMOTE ALSO KNOWN TO MAN TO GET THIS THING CONNECTED TO WIFI! IF YOU HAVE LOST THE ORIGINAL REMOTE AND HAVE NO DEVICE WITH AN IR READER, THROW IT IN THE TRASH! CUZ IT USELESS

Its easy to set up and easy to browse. I really like that i can use my smart phone as my keyboard now instead of pushing 3,000 buttons on my remote just to spell a title of a movie or search, bad is that it doesnt have ability to turn off and on..BUT most likely for those who lost their remote and really need this ability there is a universal smart remote app to power on and off ur tv so just put the apps next to eachother so u dont have to get up and down to turn everything off and on.

In order to use this app, your box and phone have to be on the same Wi-Fi network. If you don't use a wireless network, you're pretty much screwed. I brought the box with me on vacation so I wouldn't be stuck with hotel cable, but I forgot the remote at home. I need the remote to connect to the hotel's Wi-Fi, but I need the Wi-Fi to connect the remote. I tried connecting with my mobile hotspot, but it says the ip is invalid. Oh well. I'll try again when I get home and re-rate if I can get it to work.

It's an instant fix! Connected within seconds. Response as soon as I push the buttons. Puppy chewed up original remote. I thought I'd have to wait days for a new one. Then I accidentally came across the android app while I was looking to order a new remote. I couldn't believe it!

This app works exactly as it is intended. Everybody that is complaining about how it won't power on their device clearly do not understand how wifi works! Your device needs to be on in order for this remote to work. If your device isn't on its not receiving a wireless signal there for the remote will not work. An easy work around for the device not powering on option would be to go unplug your device and plug it back in.

Good overall, glad there's even a remote app. There is no power button so it just has to power down on its own. Also the response time when a button is pressed is slow.

Lost the remote, using this app now. For everyone complaining about not being to turn it on, unplug and replug in the device. Works like a charm

I like. Never have to worry about searching for another remote. I just hate that you can't used the app to power on and off.

This application works great for everything! When the box powers down its a pain to have to unplug it. Please install a Power Button.

People who complain about no power button forget that you can just unplug it and plug it back in. And a wifi remote beats the crap out of an IR remote, better keyboard as well.

Awesome for when your remote is lost or out of reach. Also I think it would be a cool idea if I could plug my head phones into my phone to get the sound from my t.v for when my son is sleeping. Just an idea...

Has to be attached to the same WiFi. If your remote has died, to power on your box, unplug it and plug it back in. Turns it on for ya!

It takes way too long for the neotv to respond when a button is pushed. It makes finding something to watch almost unbearable. The buttons for Netflix, Pandora, and ? Are terribly placed. It seems that evert time I actually find something to watch, I accidentally hit the Pandora button.

I love this app, lost my remote, this helped a lot I love you guys, all these people who gave bad reviews are probably too stupid to understand the app.

The lack of power on/off is a huge oversight. How can this most basic functionality not be there? Otherwise a decent backup in case you lose the remote

It seemed like a good concept, but unfortunately it would not connect even via the manual setting.

used the WPS on my Netgear router to connect. The best feature is the touchscreen keyboard for searching.

If tv not connected to wifi how do you get the ip address to add manually with no remote

My lg g3 will not connect to the gtv100 model neo tv. On the manual connect screen where the ip address is entered, the app will not accept the ip address as valid. So it does not work for me.

I'm smart enough to know that my phone WiFi and the player have to be the same network, and I also lost my remote but by my sheer genius I realized that if I unplug my box and plug it back in than the power button issue is solved and I can use my great new phone app just fine. ... unless I feel like I'm better than everyone and having to get up and unplug/plug things in is just to mush hassle. .... get over it losers, this app is the poo.

Installed on my LG optimus II no problem. I turned on my NeoTV200 and it worked right off.

I couldn't use the app because my neotv hasn't been connected to this Wi-Fi before ,therefore I couldn't connect to it. If you can make it findable using something on the back of the box like the serial number instead of the IP I'm sure it's great

Common people this actually really works but you need to be connected to the same network as your neo tv.

This would be awesome, if it worked.Since it doesn't, 1star. My phone is literally 1 inch from the neo box and it can't connect to it.

I can't find my remote so I downloaded this app. Unfortunately, my neotv is not currently connected to the internet so I have no way to use the app. I won't be able to use neotv at all unless there is another app out there that can resolve this issue

Have tried a lot but doesn't get connected (htc m8 and Samsung tab) . Is there a demo video for this product??

Doesn't let me connect to WiFi with this app? However, it weird fine if it is connected via Ethernet... What can I do? Will rate five stars when I can connect it to WiFi with this app. My model is neotv300

No power button and the okay button doesn't work. Instead it moves the arrow buttons. I have to fight to get it to push okay because its so touchy. I'm only keeping the app until I can figure out a replacement remote because mine broke!!!!

I haven't had the opportunity to actually USE this app because I have a new WiFi connection and I've lost my remote. I spent 2 hours online with support, because he didn't know I could not pair the device with the app without WiFi previously established and, after all that, could not tell me where I could just buy a new remote. I've read many of the reviews with the same complaint as mine and no one ever responds, not even to say "Yes, you need the original remote, here's where you can get it." Respond=5⭐

App should be able to power on and off the device. Glaring flaw there. Also, uses Wi-Fi instead of infra-red? Why bother? It just makes the whole process laggier. But still not as laggy or slow as the Neo TV itself. XBox 360 with smartglass, MUCH better.

Tried several times to connect my phone (Samsung galaxy s3). Manual settings won't work either. If you lose your remote for this player, you are screwed, because this POS app will not work. Why can't you use Bluetooth settings to connect? The actual remote is Bluetooth. It would make more sense.
