Heavy battery usage. Had to stop using after just 3 hours

I bought this app specifically for the enjoy nearby function. It worked a couple of times, then stopped. Now everytime I try to use that feature, it stops working immediately. I have purchased many Android travel apps, this is the worst problem by far I have ever had.
