About Cantonese Phonic
Research Centre for Humanities Computing, CUHK has developed a well-known web application "Chinese Character Database" (http://humanum.arts.cuhk.edu.hk/Lexis/lexi-can/). Which stores a huge and complete database of phonological data of over 13k chinese characters.
It is a useful and nice website, however we may encounter some difficulties on using this web application on our mobile devices.
So I wrote this little application, which is just provide a simple interface to access this web application.
You can also hear the cantonese pronunciation with this application.

v1.43:
- Use MediaPlayer instead SoundPool to see if Samsung/Sony etc devices can play the sound.
v1.42:
- Try to fix the voice problem by reading the MP3 source from another site. I am not sure this will fix the problem some devices met, as all my devices didn't have any problem on the voice (Nexus 7, LG G3 & Pro2), hope this version can help those Samsung / Sony users

I typed in a proverb (4 characters) but it only reads the first character. Then I realise that it only reads a single character each time. It'll be great if it can read a string of characters together.

Input complicated Chinese characters that is not use in every day written language is invalid in this app. Researchers or creators of this app should know there are 8,000 or maybe more Chinese Characters within the written Chinese language!

Hi, I have been using this app for a very long time and I had no issues with this app. However, today I tried using this app and when I searched for some information about a Chinese character, I didn't get any results and a message popped out stating that the character I entered into the search field was invalid and that the app was only able to recognize Big 5 characters. May I know how can thus issue or bug be resolved please?

I delete this app not only what I below described but also combinated words like maoyi only gives first character, so mao without yi.This is with all two characters forming one word!!! Also the pronunciations are extremely exaggerated sounding unreal!!! People do not speak like the pronunciations on this app!!!
