I understand you need to have advertising to be able to pay for the free service we get. But this is just above and beyond. Everytime i click on a page I have to close out 2-3 page covering ads before I can actually read the article. The story can fit on 1 page but they spread it out to 2 so you have to see the ads to get the last paragraph of the story. I love the stories and reporting is great but it's just a little too much.

If you want to read NESN's articles, do yourself a favor: download an ad blocking web browser and use it to go directly to the NESN website. Because this app is complete unusable garbage. That's the nicest thing anyone could say about it. I wish I could give it a negative star rating. Norton Antivirus should flag it as malware.

It's looks like it has never been update since first Android phones came out. It's a portal to an already badly designed site. The ads are unbearable on their website, a portal app like this makes the app useless when an ad displays. And screenshots are not what it looks like.

Way too many ads that fight with you when page scrolling. I didnt understand why i got rid of NESN app and had WEEI app instead. Now i know. You cant even read stories because the ads wont let you scroll through the story. Very disappointed.

However the app had gotten worse and worse with every update. I am so sick of ads popping up with every click I am uninstalling this app. I don't ever uninstall apps but it just isn't worth it anymore. I hope nesn fixes this.

I understand free sites need ad revenue to operate, but is it necessary to make them pop-up every 5-10 seconds into reading a story? Sometimes they freeze the screen. I finally had enough. Deleted.

I have never done a review before until till now because of how much this app drives me crazy. Adds are rediculously long and all the alleged videos never work. Also lags your phone. Galaxy s5 here, not like I'm on a pos. Fix it please

Videos have NEVER worked in this god forsaken app. And now i get ridiculously HUGE ads that you cant move and cant close making this stupid app useless. Who. The hell is responsible for the design... fire his ass and get someone with their heads not up their own ass!!!!!!

This used to be a great app, but like everything else, it cost money. The ads on this sight have become a virus and have overcome the actual content. Load time is unbearable even if you don't mind the ads. Regretfully uninstalling.

The app stopped loading correctly after the most recent update. It now only fills the top half of the screen. I wrote to the developer not long afterward and have yet to hear any response or see a new update to correct the issue.

The insane add placement and horrible loading screens make this app impossible to navigate. The entire screen jumps around while also taking forever to load making it impossible to click on anything but an advertisement no matter where you click. For such a respected sports network, they should be ashamed of their product. Its honestly the worst app ever invented.

This app stinks for so many reasons. Pop-up ads won't go away, the screen size is in no way optomized for a mobile device, the graphic quality is poor...I could go on and on. It looks like NESN is using high school interns to do their app development.

Somebody at NESN please fix this app. I'm ashamed of this app and you should be also. I am sure you are Boston strong but why are you not Boston proud. ? This app is a disgrace for all the following reasons.

Used this app and loved it but the recent update has made it unusable. Every page or link opens and within 15 seconds covers the content with ads that you can't get out of. Totally bogus

Used to be a great app a few years ago, but the ads killed it. They just pop up constantly and one put a virus on my phone and I had to wipe it. If you want NESN articles, just go to the website..

Terrible app! Takes forever to maneuver from article to article/ page to page. Way to many ads. It's really sad actually. I love NESN and the writers. Just a terrible app.

I'm a huge boston fan and I love all the articles that are posted but the screen jumps on the app so much its really a deal breaker.. FIX YOUR ISSUES NESN!

This app used to be good, but now it's total garbage. The videos rarely play. The articles are impossible to read, because every time you attempt to click on one, the ridiculous amount of adds that are shoved down your throat cause the screen to constantly scroll, which forces you to select the wrong article. My wife already deleted it from her phone, and if it doesn't change soon, I will be too. I would rather pay for a premium app that works right, than be able to use this junk for free. Please fix it.

I have been hoping that one day the developers would fix this app but since I have been checking it out for years I have given up hope, NESN I didn't think it was possible to intentionally make such a horrible app but you have accomplished it with this frickin horror show!!

One would think with all the money generated by the bruins, redsox, revolution, celtics, patriots etc. That we here in Massachusetts could get a decent functioning app. This app is a joke...I've held out for years that they would invest some money in developers. This app is a complete embarrassment to new England sports.

Cant take all of the ads and jumping screens any longer. My blood pressure goes up evey time I want to read a story...forget videos..those just dont work on GalaxyS4. This app is a disservice to NE sports fans..

This app sucks .. it's sad because I'm a huge boston teams fan and I moved across country and can barely get any info on my teams because this app is so awful. Jumping screens, wayyyyy too many ads and pop ups. Of all the things Great about boston and it's sports teams this app is not one of them.

I would say this app literally doesn't work as it should 90% of the time. Between all the ads popping up the videos never working and the entire site jumping up and down it's virtually unusable. I wish I could use it I want to support nesn and get local sports news but it just infuriates me every time I try.

Come on guys really? You're NESN the only New England sports network but yet you have to out ads up on this ap. Everytime you click a new article ad after ad. What having the Bruins and Redsox under contract isn't enough!? Just please limit the ads.

Slow and glitchy not the best it could be needs more adds I was able to read three words befor screen started to jump and adds pop up. After all it's not about the sport it's about the advertising. :( deleted it want to see sports not adds, sorry I can't give -5 star

Between being inundated with ads and the countless broken links it amazes me that NESN is still even offering this app on the playstore. They'd be better off firing whoever runs it and scrapping it all together. Uninstalling.

Idk how but it could be....I suppose if it gave me cancer. Too many ads and just moves all over when you scroll....the videos are never for the actual article, I once had to scroll for a min to get to the actual article..like seriously a minute, no exaggeration....so pretty much worse possible app ever. It is sad that after years of using this app (I enjoy the content) no one had been able to fix the video problem. They never, ever work. When each screen loads it constantly skips back to the top, making scrolling impossible for 15 seconds. Throw in the obtrusive ads and the whole app becomes infuriating. The fact that when I can get to the content, I find it to be good is the only thing that has made me keep it. Edit 8/7/15: videos still broken. 12/24/15: stop making the app move by itself. Just stop.

Ads are way to slow to load and make reading articles hard to read. Especially when you are halfway done reading a article than it zips back up to the top. It has done this with every different type of phones I have had. (Which the type of phone is always the newest one out at that time.)

I'm never going to carry this app on my phone or computer ever again! I'm a life long Boston fan, and I always liked this station because it seemed they actually cared about the people who worked for them! The disgusting way your company just discarded an extremely talented play by play personality like Don Orsillo was appalling! This man gave his heart and sole for the Red Sox every single game he called for 15 years! Don Orsillo is a class act! To bad I can't say that about nesn!

On a tablet, it is not very pretty and no adjustments possible. News is dated. Would love a slicker, more thought out app. Too much emphasis on advertisements. Does not look like advertised pictures. Installed on ASUS Android tablet.

This app is absolutely ridiculous with the amount of ads and how they affect your ability to read the articles. How about you actually look and see that the ads cause problems. This is definitely getting deleted.

The app it self is great. Very informative but that is nullified by having to wait 10 or 15 seconds for a giant drop down ad to disappear.

used to like this app but the constant increase in ads makes it impossible to enjoy...i cant even get through a single article without multiple pop ups...its too bad...uninstalling

The ads on this app are obtrusive. You have to go through them to get to much of the content. But the worst part is that the same ad keeps repeating over and over. After the first time I close the ad you would expect it not to come up again in this session. Ugh. Also many of the videos do not play and the display locks up regularly and won't scroll. Needs to be upgraded.

I work on a website and we have an app. NESN's app is terrible. Videos don't work, page load times are horrendous, every single article requires a second page...why? So you can display more ads and rake in more dough for doing so? Try balancing your customer experience more because if people stop using your app then ads won't matter. You have a lot to improve...get going...one item at a time.

I've enjoyed this app for years but it has become unusable! It's become nothing more than an embarrassment to the money grabbing Red Sox ownership. There are ways to incorporate paid referral links without making the app useless. I'm sure they're getting paid for all my inadvertent clicks. But all they've succeeded in doing is make a diehard fan uninstall the app! The Red Sox are no longer part of my daily routine.

Unacceptably bad. Feels like it was designed by a fourth grader. Links are covered by ads or just don't work half the time. Image quality is garbage and off-center pop up ads appear that can't be clicked away. Sad to see such a lousy effort from such a great content provider.

I like the content but the app is horrible. It's herky jerky, the way the ads dis0lay and pop up is extremely annoying. Although I do enjoy the reading, the app is so bad I will only open it if I know something very special may be in the content. Very bad app!!

This app is terrible and it's been terrible since day one. Videos never work and the amount of obtrusive ads is unbelievable. I can't even read half the article on the 2nd page because an add takes up half the page with no way to dismiss it. NESN really needs to step it's game up. A high school kid can make a better app. Boston sports deserves a better place for our information!
