With Nemo, you can customize flashcards to exercise the language skill you want to improve. When beginning a new topic, setup flashcards to practice translation of Japanese to English so you can build familiarity with new words. Next, switch to translate English to Japanese to train your recall and ability to speak. To complete mastery, switch to cards that specialize in fine-tuning your listening and perfecting your pronunciation.
Any card can be marked as a favorite, allowing you to make your own custom deck of cards to focus on the words of the day. Turn on Review Mode to recap what you practiced earlier in the day to boost your memory retention.

As someone already said "finally useful flash cards". I upgraded and I'm happy with my purchase - the audio is good and there is a lot of content. A minor quibble is its very polite Japanese in phrases. I'd love them to do a casual version having lived with a Japanese family last year in Tokyo for 6 months. Believe me they didn't speak polite like this! This is a great app for vocab only to be honest (which I do need) It would be nice if the flash card testing would test on mistakes like Anki does.

Voice isn't robotic. I am actually retaining what I am hearing. Will be buying full package, still got decent amount with free package. Can see hiragana AND English text, voice speaks Japanese, easy to learn words and phrases with no japanese background. Only a couple words didn't have speaker say them, but had speaker say them in other cards so I still learned pronunciation. Great app can't wait to get full version!

This is one of the better Japanese learning apps that I have found. I have been having a lot of trouble trying to find the right one to help me learn the language. I appreciate the record option that compares the way you say it to that of the way it is correctly said. The flashcard part that goes along with the speech part just makes it that much better. Thank you!!
