Suede Greatest Hits

Maybe this band became a different and strange britpop band that I've heard. SUEDE. The band may be somewhat unfamiliar in ears, but for people living in their era may already know this one band with the character of loud music with a vocalist voice that may be similar to "girl".

Suede was formed in 1989 in London, England. In America itself the band is known as "The London Suede". The band was originally founded by Brett Anderson as vocalist Justine Frischmann who happened to be Brett Anderson's boyfriend as guitarist, Bernard Butler as guitarist, Mat Osman the highest personnel as bassist, and Simon Gilbert as drummer.

 Shortly after the band was in shape, in 1991 the band fired Justine Frischmann for not coming to band practice by showing her intimate photos with her new boyfriend, Damon Albarn who was none other than vocalist of his rival britpop band, Blur. Finally Suede consistent with 4 personnel until her first album, "Suede" came out in 1993. This album received a positive response from the listeners. The arrangement itself is thick with "glam rock" atmosphere though not exactly the same as Bon Jovi. Maybe this is the glam-rock that I've heard.

In 1994, her second album "Dog Man Star" came out. And that really changed the perception of the listener, including me. This album really has different arrangements from the first album and impressed this album a little "dark". But this album really mixes some essence, "glam rock", "slow", and "orchestra". So I guess, "Dog Man Star" is practically Suede's masterpiece album ever made.

Unfortunately, while the recording of the album "Dog Man Star" is almost finished, Bernard Butler as a guitarist out of Suede after arguing with Brett Anderson. So we will hear some songs on the album "Dog Man Star" with a guitar that is not as simple as Butler playing his guitar. A few days before the "Dog Man Star" was released, Suede earned Butler's replacement Richard Oakes who became the youngest member in Suede to date. So, in some video clip single "Dog Man Star" we will see Oakes playing in guitar position.

Beginning 1996, Suede received another new member named Neil Codling to fill the keyboard and guitar positions. Neil Codling himself is the younger brother of Suede drummer Simon Gilbert. After that, Suede immediately started recording for her third album. With a 5-person formation, "Coming Up" came out with a different arrangement from the previous album and impressed almost the same as his first album. Perhaps the album "Coming Up" is Suede's most favorite & best Suede album with its britpop genre.

In 1997, Suede launched a b-sides compilation album called "Sci-Fi Lullabies" from several previous singles. And this album got a positive response from the listener.

As the britpop era began to melt, Suede began to dare to be different. It was proven in 1999, Suede launched the album "Head Music". In this album also, the producer was changed. If the previous 3 albums producer is Ed Buller, this album one of the producers is Flood who also once became the producer of U2 album, "Pop". So with the producer instead, the arrangement changes. If their first 3 albums thick with rock, then the album is thick elements of electro even though some of the songs are still thick with britpop. However, Suede himself said that "Head Music" is an album that has a fairly difficult recording process.
