Europe is a hard rock band from Upplands Vasby, Sweden, a hard rock, heavy metal and glan metal band.

The band was formed in 1982 by vocalist Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum bass Peter Olsson and drummer Tony Reno originally used the name "Force" but after they won the national contest, the band's name was replaced by " Europe ".

At first the band was a progressive metal band, but then with the development of this band has started adding elements of the game keyboard, thus making Europe became known by the world through the song entitled "The Final Count Down".

Europe released their first album titled "Europe" and "Wings of tommorow" released in 1982 and 1984, the album received a good reception in Japan and Scandinavia.

The single from the album sold up to 8 million copies, while the album itself sold 6.5 million copies. The other single was able to skyrocket into a world hit, the song is "Carrie", "Rock the night" and "Cherokee".
