NCP Mobile for Android
The app is a lot more convenient that the hand held scanner but for someone who already doesn't have a whole lot of extra space on their phone as it is I wasn't happy about having to take up the space to download it... having said that, the scanning (which is the main feature I use) rocks! I like the spin feature to add bonus points for each trip scanned as well. Downfalls, the survey tab does not display all surveys which sucks because I did end up missing out on a few.... one of which was the rx diary entry. So I know I'm not getting the bonus for logging every week.
Loved using this in past but in the last several months it has twice thrown out 3/4 of the alphabetical listing for stores. Right now doesn't go past C. Maybe needs an update. Updated Review Problems fixed. Plus with my new Pixel 2 XL am capturing bar codes easier making the whole process quick and easy.
I love this app because of its mobility. Before I had a scanner but because I do travel during the holidays, I've been unable to send my purchases. Now I can send whenever and wherever I am. Update: App has worked perfectly without any flaws but now it's stuck on loading. Please fix.
I love the app! It's so much easier, and better than the old way of scanning. The only issue I have, is my hand shakes, so scanning takes me awhile, and I don't like to manually insert all the barcodes. That takes forever.
Worked great at first. Then it would load Any of my info or let me do anything. Kept saying check ur internet connection. So I uninstalled and reinstalled now it won't let me,log back in. Very disappointed!!
I was hesitant to switch over to the app vs using the scanner but I'm so glad I did! It works really well and I always have my phone handy which also makes it quicker to enter info.
As as a scanner who started with the regular scanner having to plug into a laptop to transmit I am overjoyed with the mobile app. I can't believe how easy and convenient it is. And I did not find out about it until I recommended another person to NCP. They were given the mobile app and I called to see why I didn't have it. I love it!
App is ok, BUT...... PITA because it is not consistent. Some stores I shop at require prices; other stores not listed; some listed stores not even in my area; unable to configure list to make it more efficient for me to use; some things I NEVER buy but can't remove from list. And don't even get me started on the stupid entry method for discounts! C'mon NCP, this ain't rocket science & you're making tons of money from this business, fix the app to make it more user friendly.
It's fine, scanner can be hard to use at times so it doubles or triples my time. Been a scanner for a very long time but the point's don't reflect my work. Sometimes I have to skip scanning trips due to the scanner being spotty & my hands not working well. Also a double pay choice would be great as I pay with food stamps & cash or debit.
Convenient, however some major stores are not listed. When entering a barcode, the app won't accept it, even after I've double checked and typed it in again. Overall not very pleased with the scanning option.
Far easier to use than their Bar Code Scanner, plus no more need for their bar codes, as they're in the app as well! They do need to tighten up a few parts, like the memo section, & add a few options in the "no barcode" like miscellaneous for products or services like Auto repair, & cocktails, beer, & wine, when out??
App is having load issues. Have used it for 6 months and this is a recent issue. Don't like to keep my cold items out longer than necessary and it's taking forever just to load up the app.
The app times out too quickly when trying to scan items. Also I still have to enter prices in many stores. I cannot scan my trip because the app will not load. I can't wait as I have perishables. However app developers don't care. Never responded to my other concerns.
The app has saves me so much time! The updates are awesome, each time getting better and better with the features. One suggestion I'd love, is when you're entering your prices, maybe have a feature that adds up your total trip, as you enter prices? I sometimes scan while I shop, and I add while I go so I know how much I'm spending. Usually going back and forth between apps, so it would be nice to see a total, although it may not be beneficial for ncp
They steal points every week especially survey points. If I do 3 surveys(150 pts each) plus my weekly scanning points, why did I receive only 200 points? They steal a lot & that's why they should consider a points breakdown page, but I know they'll never do that. When you contact them about points they lie & insist they have fully rewarded you. After I redeem I'll be done. Not worth it. I take a screenshot of my points every week, so I know what is awarded & what they've stolen. So far about 3000pts.
Convenient compared to the old scanner. Frustrating when it won't read a barcode. Putting in your coupons is cumbersome. But, overall, pretty easy to use.
Doesn't crash as much as it used to, but still some fuzzy logic on the part of the programmers. For example, when you purchase more than one non-barcoded items. The program only asks for what and price. Do I put in the price for one and do it all over again for each one I purchased or put the total price for all? The program needs to ask number purchased And the price!
The video I watched showed to add just click the green check mark. I did that first it didn't save anything I had scanned so I had to start over and had to press the page forward arrow on the top right. But now I know
As a constant shopper I scan everyday Its takes forever to get enough points to cash in Severs are transmission are frequently down And have never one anything on their supposed weekly monthly quarterly drawings Its a lot of time and effort with little to show so far
It's a little cumbersome to use. Could be designees better. Not easy to navigate between selections when scanning products.
Absolutely love the app. I just don't like when I buy certain stuff like electronics or sporting goods there's no catagories for it under the no barcode option. I just usually click anything else.
I think this app is a great alternative to the at home scanning system. It's much more convenient to use with my phone while out and about or on-the-go. It's fairly new so I'm sure any bugs will be worked out in the future
Kind of irratating the barcode reader times out after a few seconds. But other than that really easy to use. Way better than at home scanner and always with me.
The scanning is frustrating; I have to hand-enter as many or more barcodes than the scanner is able to read. Otherwise, I really like it. Nice to not have to use the book anymore for produce.
This app worked great at first, now I'm getting the circle of death. It just gets stuck and says loading. I've done everything I know to do.
App only offers the "Online" version of the stores we primary shop at. This makes us have to select "other store" which is not user friendly when it comes to scanning bar codes since you then have to enter the price of EVERY item. I'm fine entering quantity bought and deals, because those are easy to remember off the top of my head. I refuse to scan a 3 foot receipt for 15 minutes to find the unit price of EVERY single item! Not convenient at all.
National Consumer Panel (NCP) provides a platform from which we can have our opinions of products heard by creators, manufacturers and distributors. And, earn points toward gift cards, enter several sweepstakes that truly give out amazing prizes, get 25% off your AT&T bill.. Just for scanning your purchases, completing short surveys, etc...?! And, almost all right from my phone.
Only problem is th scanner quickly captures bar codes, sometimes you end scanning an item twice, or if from book. The wrong code.
This app is horrible. It only works half the time and some of my transmissions don't go through. I couldn't get it to send 2 transmissions today. I reinstalled it and now I can't log in. All other apps and internet are working fine except for this one. This is starting to be more aggravation than it's worth. It doesn't have the prices for most of the places I shop at (for example Aldi), so I have to manually enter in all prices. I can easily spend 30 minutes getting grocery trips scanned. After 3 months, I barely have enough points to "purchase" a cheap $10 item. ????
App was better when it had a no purchases for the week button. VERY inconvenient to have to contact NCP to advise them no purchases were made, especially for somebody that works nights.
The app is OK trouble scanning many times the application has issue reading the barcodes. I like the convenience.
I was somewhat reluctant to use this...but it works fantastic. I did have a bit of a learning curve so as to not scan a bar code twice as it performs fast!
It's an awesome app. Only problem I have is when the app goes down and everything I've just scanned disappears.
Now that I have figured out how to use NCP Mobile, it is SO much better than recording my shopping trips with the old scanner! More features -like seeing & editing the bar code numbers of what I've already scanned- & the ability to show me what I was last working on & where I left off- make it kind of fun to use, and make my transmissions much more accurate. My only update to this review is that: When scanning, it would actually be much easier to check accuracy & which items that I have scanned, if the app was able to show some kind of words or even a photo of the items along with the number. Of course, frozen & other perishables must be put away quickly, and I can't always scan as soon as I get home.
Easy to use at participating stores. Scanning items from Costco is a hassle because you have to input the prices on everything.
Nielsen is a great company on there other programs but this app sucks. This app takes your bonus every Sunday and doesn't give you points or increase your cscore unless you complain. You only get credit for your first purchase then after that you get spins for a weekly bonus. So theres really no point in scanning more than 2 or 3 of your purchases. And yet they tell you to scan all your purchases. Also no PayPal and the prizes cost a lot of points.
Love the mobile app a whole lot better than the old scanner machine. All is needed now is to get an app for tablets, then it will be all set
Never any problem. Works great all the time
I absolutely LOVE National Consumer Panel (NCP)!!! Where else can you get your opinion heard AND earn points towards awesome "stuff", enter several sweepstakes that REALLY give out amazing prizes, get 25% off your AT&T bill.. Just for scanning your purchases, completing short surveys...?! I only have 1 issue... I can't figure out how to scan/enter items without barcodes/samples that aren't in the no-barcodes section.

The app works well and it's really easy to use! You can even use it in the store if you want! Definitely more convenient than the original scanner. I will do this for as long as NCP will let me. There are so many different things that you can use the points for, and it's actually kind of fun. Plus you get an email every month that shows what percentage of your money is spent at which stores. Plus it tells you how your spending compares to other people in similar situations as you. I really love it!
