Terrible downgrade to an app which originally was considered to be the most user-friendly and effective weather app available by thousands upon thousands of people. This combines their weather app with their news app, and thereby forces the news component on all of us who passed on it when given the option. Taking away that option indicates a blatant lack of appreciation and a disregard for the input of their loyal customers- But the worst part is, the weather app isn't even comparable to what it used to be in terms of simplicity and capability.

I find it to be reliable. I can look ahead of time to decide if I want to take a vacation. And I don't have to wait long to see changes in the weather.

Bring back the old weather app

Notifications are all messed up

Not a bad app but wish they took the layer and X box off the screen.

I preferred the radar in the weather only app

The old app has stopped working completely so I tried the new 1. I just want the forecast & the Doppler. It worked 2 weeks ago. Why not just keep the old app going for those of us who like it & don't have or give a damn about blablabla 11. Whatever it is. Nobody cares. & the automated response makes it pretty obvious that nobody on that end does either.

Old app was waaaa better. Most info was right on the first screen. Simple and intuitive to use. New app not at all. Deleted it. Update Oct 29, 2017. Searched for other weather apps. Tried several and found them to be wanting, mostly due to the extreme number of ads and autoplay functions. Received a reply from NECN on my review. Was able to have the weather app up first so that got rid of the news I did not need. Now the problem is can only get Boston weather or my current location. The search function does not work. Type in a town and state, press search and screen just flicks. Town am looking to find does not come up. I travel a lot and need the search function for weather in different locations throughout New England. Running on a Galaxy S5 from Verizon. Keeping the app as it is the least offensive of the several I tried. Fix the search function and will give it 4 stars.

I wish I could give this app zero stars. I loved the old NECN Weather app, was forced to replace it with this. It's horrible. The interface is poor, the map is terrible, and it freezes on start up. Bring back the old app.

Bring back the old and excellent NECN weather-only app, please! When it comes to tracking localized, up-to-the-minute weather info (something particularly important to those of us involved in outdoor sports and work), map layers and forecasts, this new, all-inclusive app is so much less robust, and more difficult to view and customize. I tried this new app and am uninstalling.

Worst app I ever. Takes FOREVER to load. Clunky, jerkey, and I can't get the weather. Just goes round in circles. Old app was great

I miss the old app. I have to reset my location all the time. Will not update current weather or location without me pressing the app itself. And the past / present / future option no longer works smoothly. I am looking for an app to replace this. Too bad, I recommended the old app to all my friends and family.

Old necn wx app was awesome. It loaded faster and had all the information I wanted in one place. The new app is disjointed compared to the old app. It is more like a weather website than an app. Please bring back the old wx app.

Hate it! Reluctantly tried it because old weather app was discontinued. Downloaded, set weather as home screen-but app wouldn't let me add locations, although I tried multiple times from search screen. Will uninstall. I join many others in being bitterly disappointed that old weather app is gone. Hard to believe it was not possible for you to upgrade app to be compatible with current IOS. You've clearly been marginalizing the weather app since the news app was developed. You will lose many many subscribers with this switch

I liked the old App much better, but this one works fine for me, still much more accurate than local news channels. I only use it for the weather, and when I'm real bored I'll look at the news, but I set up the weather screen as my home page, so doesn't really bother me to have the news mixed in. All in all a pretty good App. If you don't like it just delete it, but for now it's staying on my phone for the long haul.

The old one was better. This one isnt worth my time. Very disappointed. I only want weather, and liked that I had a bunch of different areas saved.

Wicked bad update app. The previous version was Simply the Best..... Now we all need to look for something new.

The old app worked great. The new app is buggy. I enter a city, zoom in and map turns grey and you see nothing. You have to force quit the app and start it over to get it to return to normal. Not sure where it's pulling news stories from, but it lists the worst news to read... Easier and better to just use Google.

Like many people, I loved the old weather app. They stopped supporting that and made people download this instead. Much much worse for weather. Please bring back the old weather app.

Loved the old version waaaaay better easier to navigate didn't take as long. All I wanted was the weather not top stories not breaking news JUST THE WEATHER !!!!!!! Easier to see all the WEATHER alerts and the WEATHER 10 day forecast was laid out so much better. Looking for another app to use now.

Update: after the developers had a reply to my comments, I continued to play with the app, and definitely finding it a little bit more easy to use. Still not crazy about it, but it may do the trick.

Why did you discontinue support for the old weather app? This one does not have as good of a user interface as the last one. Kinda dropped the ball on this one.

NECN had the best weather app going. Now you have to have the news portion added and the weather part has had features taken away. Deleted

The video clip ads still play when you want to re-watch a clip. A cute story with funny 5 second clip came with a 15 second ad, that's no problem, but to watch the funny clip again I have to watch the ad again? No offense but that kind of development is aged and frustrating. I'll stick to channel 3

NECN seems to have changed platforms instead of upgrading the old WSI/ The Weather Company based app. Check out Storm Track 5 app by The Weather Company if you'd like to see weather the way you did with the old NECN app.

This sucks! The old NECN weather app was THE BEST WEATHER APP, but now that's gone and the weather portion of the new app is AWFUL!!!!! Bring back the old weather app

Keeps me informed. News is broken up geographically you only need to look at the news you re interested in

Garbage! Bring back the old app. It was far superior to this app.

Like the app so far just would like all the city and towns on it and possibly state lines similar to Google maps
