NBC Bay Area

App was kinda working for a little bit but for the past few months it crashes literally every time I try to open it. I'm using a Galaxy S6, not exactly an old phone. I've reinstalled TWICE and it still didn't fix the issue. Do NOT get this app. It does absolutely nothing.

Very disappointed at the extremely sluggish load time. Painfully slow to navigate to desired content. I removed this app within a few hours of trying it. The mobile site must be better.

Dead air and commercials only no news when press live

I have uninstalled and re-installed the Android app twice on my note 4 & still no storm tracker radar.

Lately Everytime I open it, it crashes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still no fix. Will not be reinstalling this time!!

The video ads play automatically on an article. The video of the news article only plays if you press play. This is really frustrating when you don't want noise coming out of your phone.

I get an alert on a story and when I select it, it takes me to the story right?..... Wrong! It just takes me to the home page and I have to search for the damn story! So irritating. Current version crashes more often.

Seriously..do any of your devs read these reviews and understand that this app sucks?? Over a year now and you can't figure out that it gets uninstalled like crazy??? Roll it back or fix it already..it used to be great..now it's cyber herpes.

Deleted! Every story you click on requires you to listen to a 30+ second ad.

You're lucky if 1 out of 8 links actually takes you to a usable link by the time you search through you might not even find the link title anywhere in the listings and God forbid you have the program open somewhere and didn't close it it'll just bring you to the Old Link and sit there... Notifications are useless as they don't take you to the story. Short on news... seems like I'm living in a small town and not the major tech hub. Also, NBC Bay Area's idea of wx forecasts are much different than what's usually customary.

I uninstalled this app. Determined that it was the culprit in pushing full screen ads to my phone independent of whether I was using the app at the time. I'm talking about ads that would pop up as soon as I unlocked my phone before I looked at any apps. Using Airpush Detector I found that "SmartWall" Ads were turned on for the NBC Bay Area app.

Getting notification of a news item only to be taken to the home page, 9 out of 10 times, is amazingly useless. Why don't you fix it?

Useless. Gives you an abbreviated headline notification. When you click on it, way too many times it takes you to a home page, not the story.

If you click on a notification, you get taken to the home screen or sometimes to the weather page (which by the way has no way to go back to the home page). Such a good app made totally useless. I try to read the news in the notification and avoid opening the app, coz I know it will not work.

The new app is wack they don't even have the wierd category

Very hard to read stories. The new interface is too compact, too many click throughs. This was not an interface upgrade.

They notify you with a breaking news story or traffic alert but then you click on it and can't even find the story. Uninstalling.

I prefer the older version. It was much easier to navigate, and it allowed use in landscape or portrait.

Now only shows a limited amount of information in the drop down. Considering another news app. Most of the time an alert doesn't link at an article.

Used to love this news app... now when I click on a breaking news notification it takes me to either an old story or the front page. And then usually I can't even find the breaking news story that I'm looking for or the weather notification .... it takes me to either an old story or the front page. Totally bunk and totally annoying. Looking for a new News app for sure.

All it does is offer to install the NBC app, which only offers live streams if you have a cable subscription (dumbest notion ever)

I HATE the new version of this app. Loved that you could pull down more information from notification bar. And I liked the blocks looks instead of only getting 3 or 4 items from each category. Very disappointed.

can no longer turn off sound for push notifications!! deleting app, I can get my news elsewhere!

App will not load and major performance issues

Disabling push notifications not very intuitive.

Takes ages to boot up the app. Difficult to navigate as compared to the previous version.

I grew up watching channel 5 NEWS With my father every night 5 O'clock and at 11:00 to if we missed the 5:00 one!

Let's me read articles but to watch news live must give email address and password .I do that ,but will not accept my info..So no live newscasts

Unless you like seeing the same "trending" headlines for 3 weeks.
