NAVIGON USA for Android
Very difficult setting a destination using this app using voice commands and manual, cannot find destination. Coming back from the wellness center 8 mi from my home it was routing me way out of the way. I think the app has good features but if you can't use them to your benefit why bother. I will go back to old reliable...
Navigon is working well on my Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet BUT the voice keeps telling me "CAUTION" WHEN THERE IS NO NEED FOR CAUTION! I've looked through the settings and can't find where I can turn them off. This is very annoying!!! HELP PLEASE!
It cannot connect to register and then crashes with an error message: an error occurred. GARMIN....FYI THERE IS NO WAY TO RESPOND AND SEND THINGS TO SUPPORT IF THE APP WON'T EVEN START. I have been using this app for many years. I hate to not have it now. Because the app will not start there is no welcome email except one that is very old.
I have been using the iPhone app for years and love it. I recently bought an 8" Android tablet and couldn't wait to use navagon on an 8" screen. I was disappointed to find that many of the features I often used with the iPhone app were missing from the Android app. And most of all there was no in app control for the volume. With the volume turned all the way up on the tablet navagon can barely be heard. Come on navagon what's up? Fix this lackluster Android app. Especially the volume problem. This Android app just isn't on par with the iPhone app. Why not??????????
this app was my most favorite Nav app of all time...then...after the update it won't connect to the servers at all...it asked me to download selected areas again...i downloaded every one of them...now it just goes to that screen then closes the app...can't use anymore. kind of sad...
Navigon used to be a good app. not sure what happened. Now with my Samsung Galaxy S 2 no sound is output through the headphone jack. This makes the app useless in my car as I plug this in to the aux in jack of my stereo. I wish I could get my money back. Update won't run at all on galaxy s7
Use to be the best nav app hands down. I have purchased for Android and iOS. Latest update is stuck on map manager keeps wanting to re-download maps. I emailed tech support no help "they only support mobile devices" I have an Android radio. That's funny the previous Navigon versions and every other nav app on the Playstore works just fine. Other reviews on here have same issue.
Re-installed it recently. Still won't stick with your route selection, still inflexible and opaque enroute, and still 'glitchy' as to position in a city. Uninstalled it. *sigh*, back to g-maps. At least it's easier to fight with.
Used to work on my HTC one and then on my Lg G4 but I upgraded to the Lg G5 and now it doesn't work. It's supposed to work without any network connection but every time I open it I get a message saying it needs to connect to a WiFi network so it can download files. There's no way to cancel and continue with the current information. This is a pain in the ass when out on the highway and you are not getting any cell signal or a weak signal but either way no WiFi is available.
Confusing. Downloaded it on my new phone and there is info that my period of use expired. Finally I see this is different app. Change at least the Icon for Christ sake. Finally i see that there is identical app I paid for and I have to download all states again. The most disappointing are ultra small fonts plus the mini ICON's - POS nobody can see and recognize their meaning What about speed cameras and school zones.??? My daily app now is WAZE. Navigon was trying to mimic Vaze ability to quickly enlarge view but it is not working so effortlessly like Waze . I used to use Navigon quite often but now only for looong trips. The location of icons is awkward. The warning you can set up at 5,10,20 over the speed limit are clearly mistake. Have you ever had a ticket Navigon for driving 5, 10 or 20 over the Limit? Here in some states you go directly to jail for exceeding the speed so much.
I have a ☎ that does not have internet but GPS works fine what's the point of downloading the maps if it does not work offline.
I paid for this program. And it wasn't cheap. I can't even connect to the server. Please help!
A good useful GPS that you can use without running it off your data plan.
Keeps saying I have no connection to Internet. You can just refund my purchase.
App keeps crashing with a "an error has ocurred" message and close
It was a very useful app until the latest update. Now when I try to start it, I get nothing but a black screen.
Works flawless. Needs a little UI work but delivers a very accurate result
Copy paste not available in search or address box.
No good.
Good app, but too many caution
They resolved some serious issues with the last update so I now recommend again.
I have 90mb download from my wifi, but it's telling me it's going to take more than 4 hours to re-download the maps and extra software that is 818mb. Are you guys running from a 56.6 dial up modem or what?!?
It stopped working after the last update!
this app got a great improvement, it was much better than when i downloaded it.
After update I can't type in address please help!
It's very nice navigation
I used to love this app. Now it is constantly telling me to "Watch my speed." All speed notification are off, red light camera notifications are off. I get this speech 2 to three times a stop light. I have had to mute all directions, and am forced to look down at phone for this app to be useful.
Paid for lifetime updates when I purchased this app. Now it says I have to repay every 2 years. How can you change this when I paid for lifetime fresh maps?
Have found this to be a solid navigation app, and I prefer it over Google Maps for several reasons, including the route quality and lane assist. However, I have switched to using Google since getting a new car that supports Android Auto. Would love to see this become Android Auto compatible, would be a logical target for development and a key reason for purchasing the app (for new customers) or add-ons. For example, I'm holding off on a Fresh Maps purchase until I can use Android Auto.
They won't even refund..its so complicated to use..for everything it asks money..all the options are extra money they ask for..till today I couldn't figure out how to enter an address..its complete junk
Installed, uninstalled, reinstalled but still the apps won't download my chosen USA map update. If there's only way I can give -5 stars...FIVE Thumbs-Down! Please, give me my $$$ back!!!
Garmin charges a lot since they took over. When I bought this app years ago, before Garmin owned it, I was guaranteed free map updates. Garmin should honor the original purchaser's right for free map updates. It's also not reliable enough to use while motorcycling. I prefer Google maps seamless integration with Android devices and Waze's ability to avoid city traffic. I still keep Navigon installed in case I have no data connection. (Update: Waze is now owned by Google!)
In the crowded and commoditized world of navigation I trust one app... Navigon is my killer app. I've been using it's advanced interface and accurate maps since iPhone 3. I flirted with Waze and Google maps, but this is the one. Keep up the good work and keep innovating!
Since last 2 updates, on my Galaxy S4 GPS keeps getting lost every minute or so, speed on Navigon states I'm going 12 miles faster than my actual speedometer speed! Totally unreliable. Doesn't happen on Google maps or other free programs! Navigon used to be my favorite and only use, now I'm forced to delete the app. Other people submit inqueries, why doesn't Support post also answers instead of just replying contact support. Don't know if problems are being solved or not!!!!!
I really wanted to like this app but it has multiple limitations and bugs. Unlike competition, it does not have a trial period. Panorama 3D is junk. 1. I wish this app would closely resemble a real Garmin GPS, like Garmin USA in iTunes. 2.Unlike Garmin, Navigon does not have a detour button. 3.In "My Destinations" my contacts appear twice! Why? 4.Here Maps allows one to categorize and sort favorites: You can group them into cat. such as "museums", "parks", etc. On Win Phone I used Here Maps to manage favorites and then Here was using Garmin to navigate. This does not work on Android & minimal information can be stored about a favorite (no phone #, web) 5.Cannot sort favorites by distance and "My destinations" always opens at "Recent" tab. 6. App description say "...thanks to the first-class, simplified address entry, ... you can find your destination even more quickly." Navigon does not say that for this to work you need WiFi (In Here Maps this works offline). 7.Sound is directed through "touch feedback" which I keep off. 8. No way to import/backup favorites. 9. It does not show 3D buildings like Here. 10. Red light alert is the same as speed cam: "watch your speed" (unlike Win).
When I bought a Sony Xperia years ago, I bought the Navigon app that was preinstalled. Maps were not as clear and polished as on my Nuvi, but it had some neat features. However now that I've switched to a Nexus 6p, this "Xperia edition" of Navigon no longer works. I decided to buy the compatible version in hopes of at least recovering my in app purchases, but there's no way to link Garmin accounts. I've lost over $70, and just found out I can't even add the maps of Canada I need.
Doesn't work on Nexus 6p, can't download any maps. Keeps crashing. Worked fine on my previous phone, Note 2.
I have a ☎ that does not have internet but GPS works fine what's the point of downloading the maps if it does not work offline.
it needs a new UI like TomTom's. Current UI is out dated.

I have been a huge fan of this app for years and that why I make sure that it is on every phone I own. The latest update which I received on my Galaxy Note 5 last month gave the app a fresh new look. I just upgraded to the LG v20 this week and tried to install my Navigon on it and now it doesn't work anymore. It won't download the system files and my paid app is useless. I am in the process of trying to get my issue resolved through the developer but I am not too optimistic.
