Mandarin Madness Learn Chinese for Android
The UI is clunky but the game is a great way to help imprint new words! I'd love to see the word list expanded.
I have pro versions of both your apps. They are great for increasing vocabulary for both adults and children. Please do more language's. Japanese? Thai? Please!
Good but some times it stops working. It's a really fun way to learn.
I love this app, it's a really fun and effective way to learn Chinese. My only complaint is that they need to add more categories!
Addictive game that helps you learn mandarin fast and have fun at the same time. You learn sounds, numbers and characters in a fast paced game. Love it.
Easy to use, fun and progressively difficult! 3 things would make the app perfect: Toggle music on/off, Change music, Change background . . Cheers developers!
This app is a fun way to learn some basic vocab, but some of the levels seem to treat you more on reaction speed and other unrelated skills when what you want to be doing is learning a new language.
Ganz nettes Spielchen um einige Worte zu lernen
Updates are never coming, despite paying for 20 word packs there's only 17. Issues on my phone as well and no response from developers. Still collecting money I'm sure but won't deliver promised updates, dishonest people.
It's a must have app. You use new vocabulary to win the game. It reinforces learning by using the word.

Coolest game I found yet, 4 learning this dialect of Chinese
This is a great app, unfortunately the touchscreen on my samsung galaxy note 2014 isn't very sensitive and the game is unplayable on faster levels as the screen won't register responses fast enough. There are also problems on earlier levels, due to the sensitivity issue.
Took about 5 seconds to figure out how this worked, without instructions. Both I and another user showed massive gains very quickly. The only nit I have is that the groups of words can't be mixed - you only ever see one category's words at a time, which is artificially easy. After mastery of one category there ought to be an "everything you've learned so far" category so you don't backslide. Occasionally the program also has a problem restarting...You have to delete it from the running apps first.
It would be nice if it trained sentences
Great way to learn. More list of words and PLEASE add an option for pinyin. I am willing to pay more for this. I wonder why I don't have the pack for transportation like car and bus or train? I have a total of 17 packs.
Fun and helpful for listening and reading Chinese
Could do with more useful words like verbs and maybe 100 most common words!
Excellent app. The kids are totally enthralled by it.
Fun and easy to learn using this app. I highly recommend.
Love the fact its like you are playing a game. Wish it had phrases also.
Painless learning! And so cute!
Very good. Makes learning fun.
I originally bought this app for my three year old when we bought his Nabi. He did so well I decided to check it out for myself. This app makes it so easy to learn but still poses enough of a challenge to keep it interesting. Absolutely love it.
Awesome idea to use fast-paced games for learning! However, requires additional hanzi-learning software.
Lacking the ability to turn off the music and other audio. Lacking a page where a single word can be repeated, with additional information. The information needed is what objects are in my language. It is for example not always so easy to know if I see a hen, rooster or chicken. Also need pinyin.
As description said, this app expands my vocabulary.

I like the variety in the games. It's tough to fake it for long if I don't know a character. The spinning character is a nice one for building recognition skills. My suggestions for improvement are similar to other reviews: 1- the tile game can be frustrating to reorganize the tiles after a swap occurs. 2- I don't want to use pinyin as a crutch, but when a character is first introduced, showing the pinyin spelling would help to grasp the audio.
Great app to combine the character & pronunciation. I would like pinyin too, but it probably would be a crutch...
Its a nice app that will help you to recognize chinese word without making associations to you native language. Only problem is the background music which is sickening after a few levels and when you lose a life, you cant skip the animation. If those things are taken into account, i ll improve the app rating
So simple and fun. The speed can be troublesome at times but the program allows you to easily start again from any difficulty and work your way back up. If you're up for it, they even have really really hard levels you can try (or skip!). Just a great app. Highly recommended.
I agree with lots of comment. I didn't want to pay in the beginning but it s an awesome app . If the pinyin were shown in the first stage it could be better. Also the last levels you do not have time to hear the word or see that's it s already over. Worth buying
It could use Pinyin though. I know that some feel that Pinyin is a crutch, however for a novice like me it's invaluable for learning pronunciation. Also, you need Pinyin in order to be able to type in Chinese. Most of what I need to do in Chinese is typing, so again Pinyin is invaluable.
On the whole, this is an extremely good game for expanding a beginner's Mandarin vocabulary. It's very fun and words become easily rememberable, including being able to read the characters. Although, I've only given it 4 stars because there are some things I would change to make it even better. I think it's is a good idea to introduce the Mandarin characters through the game, but some implementation of Pinyin would be ideal. That way for people using this alongside other teaching methods (I'm currently using Pimsleur to teach myself Mandarin) can understand exactly how to pronounce the words along with the correct tone instead of needing to Google the word to ensure it's pronounced correctly. My other qualm is with the gameplay. On the harder levels when you have to rearrange the tiles, by moving one tile you can end up moving all the tiles! And when the last word appears it can be almost impossible to put them in order. Also, when the levels get much faster sometimes the spoken word isn't even started until the word is almost half way down the screen, making some of the longer words almost impossible to get. But apart from those issues it's a very good game!
A brilliant tool to learn basic chinese. Well worth £2.50. Keep up the good work with making more subjects. Wish there was an app like this when I was in School. However some of the sound files are hard to understand because many mandrin words sound similar. Needs a clearer update or some way of teaching phonetic spelling.
As someone interested in languages, (particularly in Mandarin) I found this app to be of great use. It uses a system similar to flash cards, which slowly allows you to remember both the pinyin symbols and pronunciation. For a beginner like me, this app is perfect and great value. My only complaint is that it doesn't give you the phonetic spellings for each word, leading to some confusion to pronunciation.
I don't think this by itself could build you any base, but as a help for the beginners to improve vocabulary while playing it's great. Bunch of bugs, though :/
Nicely programmed, covers most important vocabularies and also gives lots of room to improve the personal knowledge. Unfortunately a bit simple, no settings and no sentences to learn. Anyway, I like it

Since I downloaded the pro version there have been regular lags. The bloody app just doesn't start and I have to restart it a couple of times in order to proceed. Despite this annoying fact it's quite picturesque and fun version of flash cards.
