SkyPro GPS Status Tool for Android
App is terrible. • Unable to share saved tracks. • App crashes on exit. • Unable to locate saved tracks on phone or tablet. • Need option to set track save location. • Battery meter does not function properly.
Clunky UI, doesn't save or share tracks. No firmware update. Crashes.
After importing tracks from the GPS to the app, there is no way you can use them. The klm files are no where in the filesystem. There is a share option that doesn't work.
Given the number of complaints both on Amazon, various forums and in Google Play, you would think this company would be bordering on fraud or flat out incompetence. The XGPS app does not function correctly and there is no option to update the firmware, via the app, as stipulated in the online support. Battery indicator always looks like it was completely drained, after charging all day. Hell, the XGPS160 alone has issues. It takes 10-20 minutes on average to lock onto satellites several times a week. Then at least once a day, the GPS is so inaccurate that every reputable navigation software I have tried eventually drifted me onto a completely different street/location altogether or it spinned in a circle like it doesnt know where it is. And this is in Kuwait, out in the open!!! WTF Dual??? Use this in aircraft.... oh hell no!!!!! Dual is better off not making this crap and ripping off customers!!!!!!! And guess what, when I switch back to the internal GPS, it works fine.
Practically useless for android. Extremely difficult to access gps tracks and download. No support or useful updates
Hardware is acceptable but this software is useless. No firmware update , buggy, crashes frequently. Do not get this. Worthless. Better not install, or uninstall if you get it.
Constant crashes
App is free, and lousy. Stops/crashes from time to time. If they get the app to work, it would be great. I use the free Bluetooth GPS app instead -- less buggy, stays connected, and better coded. The Dual XGPS hardware, however, is brilliant (that's 5 stars); the app that comes with it (this one) should be labeled BETA or even ALPHA software. When they get it right, it'll probably be good. For now, stick to the other freeware like Bluetooth GPS.
Android version cannot update firmware, supposedly the ithing version can. App does not resize screen to suit host device, so text is microscopic on a tablet. Satellite display does not correspond with reality, SATs are in the wrong locations - although other software using the same data gets it right. App doesn't seem to close properly. JULY 2016 - Visited again one year after the preceding review. Absolutely no updates or improvements to this rubbish app.
Crashed right after I installed it. It also doesn't offer firmware updates like the iOS app does.
Crashes so i keep losing GPS. Crashes when downloading tracks - cannot download. Piece of junk.

All in all the app is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.
Screens cannot be resized, all far too small on Nexus 7 and virtually unreadable on HTC smartphone. Satellite status screen almost useless; SVs correctly identified but positions wildly incorrect. No apparent ability to enable 'Mock GPS Provider' feature under 5.1 so app cannot act as 'helper' to interface XGPS160 with other software. Does not offer option for XGPS160 firmware upgrade, unlike Apple version. XGPS160 battery life indication erratic. Very heavy on tablet battery power. Often stops working when other apps invoked and will not re-link unless XGPS160 turned off and on again. All in all, poorly implemented and ultimately pointless -- Bluetooth GPS much more reliable and useful. Definitely not recommended for aviation use.
The device is brilliant. This app is truly appalling. If I'd known that I couldn't download tracks, couldn't control the on-device logging, couldn't upgrade software on an Android device, I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THE DEVICE. Frankly, I feel that I have been mid-sold an expensive device and now have to decide whether to buy an iThing which I hate. If I'd known how broken the software was if have bought a different device.
it is not working correctly on back ground and stop working all the time .

New version is supposed to fix battery meter, it does not. Battery level still reported low even though GPS unit is fully charged. Also app seems to not like to run in the background. It crashed when I switched into another app or went to OS home screen. I only wanted to use app to determine firmware, so in that respect it did connect to device
