বীরবলের গল্প

বীরবল (ইংরেজি: Birbal) অথবা রাজা বীরবল , জন্ম মহেশ দাস; ১৫২৮–১৫৮৬)[২] আকবরের মোঘল সাম্রাজ্যের অন্যতম সভ্য ছিলেন। তিনি তাঁর চতুরতার জন্যই তিনি মূলত সকলের কাছে সুপরিচিত। তিনি ব্রাহ্মণ ছিলেন। এবং ১৫৫৬-১৫৬২ সালের দিকে একজন কবি ও গায়ক হিসেবে নিয়োগ পান। পরবর্তীতে তিনি সম্রাটের অত্যন্ত কাছের হয়ে পড়েন এবং নানা সেনা অভিযানে যান যদিও প্রকৃতপক্ষে তিনি এই বিষয়ে কোনরুপ শিক্ষা নেননি। ১৫৮৬ সালের সম্রাট তাকে ভারতের উত্তর-দক্ষিণ দিকে (বর্তমান আফগানিস্তান) পাঠান। কিন্তু এই অভিযান অত্যন্ত শোচনীয়ভাবে ব্যর্থ হয় এবং বিদ্রোহী উপজাতিদের আক্রমণে বহু সৈন্যসহ বীরবল মৃত্যুবরণ করেন।[৩] তাঁর মৃত্যু সম্রাটকে অত্যন্ত ব্যথিত করে।
