My Smart Blinds for Android
Do not follow instructions take the battery motor and switch out put them together on the table have the app already to go open and start the pairing process when the blinds show up on your phone pull the smart switch you will see the lights all start to blink in the motor wait for them to pair with your phone do 1 blind at a time just when you get to syncing the blinds just click later now install the blinds then go through the syncing of the blinds itts a great system works well i would have spent about 1600 on custom blinds with remote with this system i spent about 600 it took about 1 hour to do 4 blinds. The people who are selling it are very helpfull all around a great experience.
Using a Tmobile Galaxy Note5. App doesn't work well. I can tilt blinds open and closed but usually takes hitting the button 3 or 4 times from 5 feet away for it to work. Scheduling doesn't work at all. Let's me schedule times but never executes them. Will wait for an update before dropping lots of money to outfit all windows with this. If still not working after update will have to return to manufacturer. Please update soon and properly support Android devices not just Apple.
I have seen a lot of people say they had problems with Android phones not being able to pair with this system. I had no problem at all. Before installing, I charged the unit for several hours. I then hooked it all up, before installing in the blinds, and paired it to my Samsung Edge phone. I then installed it in the blinds, re-hung the blinds and went through the calibration procedure, and everything works great!! We have 10 more windows in the house to do and my wife wants all of them done!
Updating review from one star. Most complaints seem to be fixed once they went back to old version (I don't need an iphone for initial set up now). Why only 3 stars if it works? Customer service has been absolutely horrible. Rather than providing meaningful assistance, the response was "send it all back for a refund" as they apparently don't have time to actually troubleshoot their own product.
Very very bad Android support
Please add Tasker support for controlling blinds!
The hardware design is great and very easy to install in existing blinds. The software, at least on Android, leaves a lot to be desired. Scheduling doesn't work consistently, pairing with blinds is an exercise in patience, and none of the blinds will update the firmware from the factory installed version. Integration or support for existing software solutions such as wink or smarthings would have been a better route as having yet another disparate solution to control a single device in a smarthome fails
The hardware install is simple and seems well made. The software does not work. The blind would not pair with my android phone or tablet. I would recommend that before you install the hardware in a blind that you connect the switch, the motor unit and the battery and test it before installing it in the handrail to see if you can pair it to your phone/tablet. Whatever you do, don't cut the string because then the is no going back. I bought one unit to test before I bought 6 more. Good thing I did.
Awesome at first now it's not great. Somewhere along the way an update to the app ruined it. However MySmartBlinds has hired a full time employee to fix the android app and he's getting close to releasing a new version. The IOS app is working REALLY well and if you have access to an idevice it will fix just about all your problems. Connect and update your blinds with ios until they get the bugs out of android. Update: just now uninstalled and reinstalled this app and it works a lot better for some reason.
App was ok at first, but after months of app updates, blinds still won't update firmware and one blind is no longer recognized. Contacted support and was told to use apple ios to control/update the blinds or control them manually. That's completely unacceptable, as I don't own anything Apple, and poor business practices when products being sold as a android compatible product for wireless control of blinds.
Okay, I think I have it figured out. If you already have a blind and want to install a new one in the same room, it will not allow you to do so UNLESS you recalibrate the existing already set and and working shade. I've been trying for three days to install a new shade with no success. It finds the shade but searches non stop until my phone battery dies. In desperation I tried recalibrating the old shade. It then allowed me to install the new one.
After Android last updated, this app quit working. You will have to use iPhone to set up and install your blinds. Once that's done you can use the Android app to open and close them. BUT, whatever you do, DO NOT hit "Reset Your Blinds." If you do you will have to do a hard factory reset which means you have to take down your blinds to do so. You will also have to start over from the very beginning with the iPhone app.
Does not work with Android.
UPDATE: Had to recalibrate a few times and Uninstaller and reinstall and it now finally works.---OLDER REVIEW: It works with calibrating, it works with identifying, but once you try to use it to do anything else it doesn't work. It won't open or close my blinds after multiple calibrations.
The blinds don't always follow the schedule. I can't always adjust the blinds from the app so I walk over and adjust them manually instead. The firmware requires you to stay in the update screen the whole time (about 30 mins per blind per update) or it will fail the update, I have spent a few hours updating the 2 blinds I have but can't get past the 1.3 update. I know new products take a while to perfect so I will adjust my rating over time and hope the bumps gets ironed out.
Still can't update firmware from 1.3 to 1.5. Animated progress bar keeps running but upload immediately fails.
Got my blinds working... easier than I originally thought. (C clip is in plastic bag)... app did crash once and I did have a bit of a time pairing but overall, great experience! Now we need a widget.
Easy install and app operation makes for a useful and powerful automation tool. Great design of both the product and the app that controls the devices. Highly recommended.
Awesome!

Latest update breaks the apps connection with the blinds on android with Nexus phone (latest os). Worked fine after I cycled the power on the blind motor.
