Macro HEX Edit[BETA]

Excellent app. Has some flaws here and there, but overall the developer has done a well job on this. If you don't know how to use a hex editor, don't install this app or you will whine about it not working.

Can't reach data folders even after root

NEW: Actions make more sense now and display is better. Needs color and *major* performance improvements. With a large file open and the font small (to get 4 columns of 4 group hex values in portrait), it only scrolls one line at a time per scroll gesture. There also needs to be better help with the macro ability and an example or two. It's getting there! OLD (mostly now fixed): Android uses little-endian for its byte order, but I cannot use search to find a 2-byte value whether I manually use little-endian or big-endian. It just doesn't seem to search for anything larger than a byte. Also, I have a huge display (for a tablet) and I cannot get more that 3 sets of values displayed horizontally. I'll keep checking back. Samsung Galaxy TabPRO SM-T900 12.2" with Android 5.1.1, rooted.

Definitely better than the ad supported alternative I tried. Wish I could insert text though. A far as I can tell it's overwrite-only. Can't add or remove characters, only overwrite them, making it limited usefulness

I am putting you five stars here for good job done, however in my case (razr m, 4.4) I have no selection of text when I select hex. Could you fix that please?

Other than that I'm quite happy with this app. I would give it 5 stars, but for the sdcard issue, only 4 stars.

How make reading letter get better while the hex numbers stay still?

The interface needs some work... [1] scrolling/sliding needs to be faster and have some momentum (to be able to flick through data). [2] You need to remove most of the padding between the address, bytes, text-chars. [3] You need to be able to set the number of bytes viewed per-line, then automatically adjust the font size and padding from it. [4] Add root file functionality. [5] Searching for Hex bytes needs to be case insensitive - right now it says "uncorrect" (no such word) if you enter lowercase Hex.

Can you please add an option to compare two files?

Crashed the first time I opened it. The second time it worked and it fulfilled my need.

Awesome app, and very helpful for me while debugging my own. I gave it four stars because it crashed on a few times while changing menu settings. If not for that, it would be five stars without a doubt. Thanks for this.

Scrolling through the file and selecting is very slow and lags too much. Its needs optimized somehow. Nice product, just needs enhanced a bit.

I found something online saying this would work to change values, etc. in apps/games, which I did and when trying to re-open the game app it crashed? I had to uninstall and reinstall it to get it to open and it's back to the same amount I had beforehand.

While interface nice and clean, the smallest font wont allow aligning to 8 or 16 bytes per row in h & v respectively. Would def be way better with a few tweaks.
