My Meal Mate for Android
No better than the other food tracking apps but with no platform integration. Keep working on it and licence out the dB.
This app would be great if anyone cared to do more work on it. As it is unless you eat processed rubbish....which,not all over weight people Do, its not functional. Doesnt allow portion sizes to be altered. Messy to use. Non intuiitive. Lacking data base of english ingredients. Broad categories of activi To put in three egg omlette takes too long, as there is only one egg at a time! Other apps are much better. Sad as I was hoping for a British food data base that would enable me to track my weight loss.
Fancied a change from My Fitness Pal, but can't access settings OR menu on my Samsung S5... I have looked for help online, but there's just nowhere on the app they can be found... crazy! As a result I could only input my basic details in metric and it has set my calorie goal as nearly 2500 kcals! Will have to uninstall! :(
It is very exlent ,marvelous ,nice .it is good for health.
Good and useful app, however I cook "from scratch" quite a lot often from recipes where calorie values are given. Searching for each recipe ingredient using the app is tedious and time consuming.
This App is rubbish! I fry my eggs in lard. The database for this NHS App does not recognise "lard". It also doesn't recognise the five cups off "coffee with double cream" that I've had today. So how much money did the NHS fascists waste on this App when "My Fitness Pal" has existed for many years?
First things first, it takes you straight to the 'calories per day' screen, doesn't really give any indication that you have to push a button to get the menu to pop up. I know it's common knowledge to most but not all. Secondly the meals. I'm trying to lose weight while getting into shape, this includes protein shakes, and meals I prepare myself. I cannot add the meals I prepare myself, nor can I add my protein shakes since you can only use foods on their databases. They need a way of adding food manually. Without it the app is useless. Thirdly an improvement note. They've gone through and gotten all these products, but entering them by hand is a pain in the neck. I have lots of boxes at home with lots of barcodes. It would be nice to be able to go "beep" and register a barcode with the calories or something. Even better, that way I could print off a barcode for my own recipies, link the barcode to my own stuff, and then scan the barcode rather than having to manually enter stuff. If I were able to add my own meals / calories to the app, It'd get 4 stars. Until then though it's stuck at 1 since it's missing a very basic and very needed feature.
Easy to use, good database, and you can input values using UK imperial system which I prefer to US equivalent apps. Very simple and does not rely on internet connection for database.. Love it..
I love this app, but I backed up my data and restored my phone.. I have now lost all my workout and food logs as there is no where on the app where I can import my mealmate database.. What is the point of backing up the data if you can not restore it, if needed.. Some advice regarding this would be great thanks..Otherwise a very helpful and useful app..
How do you get to settings????? I couldn't find them. Really frustrated by this app. Neither does it allow manual entry - sometimes its easier to input the data straight from the side of the tin than search through the database for a tin of beans! I'll look for something aimed at a less computer savvy person
Simple - enter food eaten and exercise taken and sums your net cals Lightweight - 3.6mb and no network connection needed UK centric - asda tesco sainsburys etc... but plenty of generic food to be useful to non-UK users. I know myfitnesspal and fatsecret has a lot more bells and whistles but mymealmate is neat, self contained and does what it does very well.
A good app totally spoilt by the time and frustration of working out how to get the ingredient / product you want. We don't all live off ready meals and I would guess that most people who are interested in the app don't. Get the data input right and allow simple user input and this would go from 1 star to 5. Currently it is virtually unusable.
relise why i get chubby and were i go over calories, really good app
Clunky, poor search function. Since the last update, I can't enter my weight. The filter by brand does not always work either search is literal rather than keyword - it'll look for a comma if you enter one.
Display will not fit Galaxy Y screen, so it's impossible to input serving size.
I just tried to put in a plain bagel and it is unable to give me a bagel option without specific fillings. Can't see this being helpful unfortunately. Shame as there is a real need for a decent uk offering in the weight loss category.
It's not able to recognize all types of food and the app is slightly complicated
This is great but takes some thinking to equate American brands.
Waste of time.
Supposed to help be keeping track of calories but it doesn't recognise so many foods and there is no option to manually add foods. If its not on the list you didn't eat it. Pointless.
I like this app, it's easy to use and made locally to me. It has a good library of foods but really needs a manual input or options for take away food.
Can't seem to find settings so stuck on metric. It just goes straight to today's calories but no visible way of accessing inputting data unless you force errors and still can't access settings. Good idea but badly designed.
Doesn't work wouldn't let me enter first meal. Hopeless
This is a good app but could do with a manual input as well.
Really good for people 2 loose wt.
Nice
Sounds good
Xxxxxxxxxcxxxxxxxxx
Just perfect.
Yes
The latest update deleted all of my data (4.5-months worth!) which is a great shame, although I guess given that I had just met my goal of losing the 12 baby kgs, I don't really need the app any more :) As a suggestion, as others are mentioning, the search function can be improved but other than that, an excellent app.
This app is really useful the database is very comprehensive and I like the ability to take photos so you don't forget what u ate if you're in a hurry. I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to lose weight or just moniter their diet.
My breakfast today was a boiled egg with a slice of toast. Not a difficult concept? The app found "egg" then found 0 (yes, ZERO) entries for "toast" so I tried "bread" and it crashed! Twice... Uninstalled as I have better things do do than prat about with this. One star is too good.
I can't use this on my Acer phone because there is no settings button, so uninstalled it. BUT still getting text messages and no way to block them :(
But i've problem. What i eat is Indonesian Food, mostly asian. And this app didnt have the list.
Good, but doesn't work on my phone... Can't change de number of serving or add food...
Simple to use but it does tend to only use bought food not much use if you cook. The reminders are irritating.
Just doesn't work except for convenience foods.
Needs manual input and ability to easily edit your favourites
