FAR/AIM for Android
View, navigate and search the 2015 Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) from anywhere! I am a pilot who switched to an Android phone and was shocked to see the very few quality pilot Android applications. This app was created to fill some of that void. Great for studying and general question answering with it's powerful searching capabilities. You can also easily navigate through the FAR or AIM to any section MUCH faster than if you were using that huge book.
Why you need this app:
* Formatted FAR/AIM sections with figures and diagrams included!
* Easy to navigate user interface
* Kick-butt searching
* No network connection required!
* Because you are a good pilot!

Needs database update
It seems to be easier to use the book vs. the app. Only because things are broken down in to sections/subpart with titles in the book. Example: FAR PART 91- General Operating & Flight Rules Subpart A - General 91.1 Applicability 91.3 Responsibility and Auth.. 91.5 Pilot in Command.. 91.x.. Subpart B - Flight Rules General 91.101 Applicability 91.103 Preflight action 91.xxx.. The way the app is set up makes it more difficult to find what you are looking for. Also missing appendixes.
Developer: I'd love to see a way to favorite an entire sub part. I also wish the subheadings found in paper books were there. For example part 61 has subpart C student pilots subpart D recreational pilots etc. It would just make it easier to see groups of info.
It is nice to have access to FARs, but as a pilot I don't need every FAR from 1-200 consecutively. Having said that, it is very easy to search the FARs section by section. Lastly it is so nice to be able to re download the app onto my new phone, as your system recognized me
Fantastic reference
This app worlds perfect on my razr. Well put together and the search function is awesome!
Easy install, works perfect on my HTC Inspire
Search function works quite well.
My flight bag keeps getting lighter thanks to apps like this. It works great. Dev responded super fast to bug issue and fixed it. Galaxy Tab
Super fast response from Dev. My request added to new version in less than 24 hours of my email. A+ app and developer. Very worth it!
Does not work on Galaxy S. Database downloads but both FAR and AIM tabs just show white screen and eventually force close comes up.
Its a nice application ... However on the galaxy s2 the search function is not available , which is a very important part ...
I have the EVO and after downloading it just sits at the flash screen and shuts down phone. Crashes every time
I use this app all the time. The search functionality is really useful. I also love the bookmark feature. Nice job!
Does not work
The search is awesome.
Very quick response and corrections. Thanks John.
Great app. Fast and the search capability is worth it. Constantly use it for reference. Late to update though making the time window somewhat short. Rather subscribe and get the updates in a timely manner. Limited usefulness based on that issue.
Smooth, good-looking, and simple. Probably the easiest way to find information in the FAR/AIM, and hopefully it will always be up-to-date, unlike a book.
Fantastic app, very stable and gets the job done. There are some isolated instances of transcription errors where punctuation doesn't display properly, but otherwise accurate and up to date. Adding the P/CG would be a nice bonus.
I like the app a lot, and would have given it a higher rating except we're almost halfway through the year, and it's still last years data. I fly for a living, and like to use this for reference, but if it came down to making a call based on this version of the regs, I could be placing my certs at risk based on an outdated FAR. That's really not acceptable.
This is very helpful to have on my phone. Other than a few spacing issues in the text this resource is accurate and offers excellent search functionality. I will give it 5 stars when it's updated to the new 2014 FAR. UPDATE: During a recent update I discovered an issue with some of the text looking like gibberish. I contacted support. They solved the problem and got back to me within a few hours. Gotta love good developers!
Good app, though some images don't load (e.g. those on AIM 1-2-1).
Get the strange character display errors in the AIM fixed and it will be excellent.
See 25.103. Some fórmulas are not displayed. See 25.107. Some characters are bugged.
Easy to search through, sections laid out well and images are nice to have. Thank you for this free resource. Since the new update I just downloaded, I miss being able to see what parts and subsections I have starred in my list. A highlighting feature would also be very beneficial
I was contactedp by thier support person who advised me where the search button was on my tablet. Thanks for the quick response
Whoever put this in txt mode forgot some spaces which makes it uncomfortable to read. Currently on aim 5.2.8 and itkeeps readinglikethis every few words
For a $6.99 per user Application, there are too many typographical errors, run-together words. It's good, but bad. With so many mistakes, perhaps worth money for Android. Update: Probably code errors. Looks like many problems have been fixed. Up'ing my rating.
This app is fine except that it does not include any appendixes, which limits the usefulness to me.
Overall good reference for the pilot or mechanic. I like that all the different parts of the FARs are included. Unfortunately, all the appendices are missing, which seriously limits its utility to me. Probably wouldn't have gone with this if I had known that up front.
I can't see the reason behind the negative reviews. I found some mistakes in the text like not having space between words, but over All the app is great.
I Like the search utility helps alot when I need to find something. Has every thing I have needed the actual book for. The developer is very reachable replied to my email within about 2 minutes.
Be forewarned: this is a text only app. Not a substitute for the full FAR/AIM which relies heavily on diagrams for illustration of airspaces, etc. Pretty dry experience but not unreasonable for $7.00
This is a great app. There are a few minor quirks that I have e-mailed the developer about, but overall nothing to get worked up about. Much better than carrying around the FAR/AIM hard copy!
I love the app as it is really handy for the occasional glance over an unimportant reg you forgot about. Unfortunately, we were promised an update by March, it's now July and there are no signs of an update. A word from the developer in regards to the update would be really nice. For now don't bet your certificate on the content of this app or you could have it revoked.
I keep trying to open it and I'M getting an unknown host.
Having the complete 14 CFR parts is awesome, but the lack of appendixes is a clear mistake!!! PLS FIX IMMIDIATELY.....
I love it, thanks

Overall good reference for the pilot or mechanic. I like that all the different parts of the FARs are included. Unfortunately, all the appendices, as well as many SFRs are missing, which seriously limits its utility to me. As such, this can be a handy way to look up commonly-used FARs, but as this data is missing shouldn't be used as a sole - source.
