FieldMove Clino

Paid for the Pro version. Sometimes takes several to many seconds to allow for a reading to be made on my Nexus 5X. Sometimes locks up on saving a reading, causing app to be restarted. Watched all of the excellent online videos and read the manual. Highly recommend this app as I am using it on my highway engineering projects. Really like being able to export my site locations into Google Earth, which works great.

Great stuff. Upgraded to pro soon after trying it to support your good work. However... your icon looks a bit....uhm... faschist. The hammer on red and white background - reminds me of the marching hammers in Pink Floyd's movie...

Recommended app for field data collection. It has really helped me as I map intensely fractured shales in the Benue Trough. I noticed that the app crashes on my phone when I try to access the stereo net feature as my project has up to 1000 measurements.

I've been using the app since my late Samsung Galaxy S5, and it works nicely. Now, I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S7, and I cannot use the clino function to measure beddings anymore. When I access to the function, the app does not response and hang. Please fix it at once!

It seems to be a very useful app, however I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S7 where the app crashes when I switch to using the clinometer.

Actually unusable on galaxy S6. Hangs when try to use clino.

Pra começar, mesmo que seu celular não tenha uma bússola ou clinometro bons, você pode inserir os dados manualmente. Achei o aplicativo tão bem feito que resolvi comprar a versão completa! O fato de eu poder colocar map tiles de diversos produtos de geofísica ou imagens de satélite, e olhar instantaneamente os meus pontos plotados com os mergulhos me foi mais útil até mesmo que o stereonet

It's a great rock engineering app for field mapping and later statistical analysis.

This app has the best GUI of any geology app for android, but it's not optimized for some android devices like it is for iPhone. This app seems very well made and polished, but its key feature, taking measurements with the clinometer, is buggy and unstable on my droid turbo 2, which is not a cheap phone by any means. Even after cleaning up my phone and freeing up memory, it still crashes every single time I try to take a reading. Moving the phone around in a normal fashion like you would during any field excursion causes the entire thing to freeze, which is very frustrating. As far as features go, I'd much rather work in UTM coords but alas, not supported. I'm back to using Rocklogger, which doesn't have as nice of a GUI, but at least I can actually measure stuff with it.

This app is amazing for mapping. But i found its shortfalls when i couldnt draw on maps, something my partner with an Iphone was able to do. You also have to be careful GPS dosent shut off!

I love this software, doing a lot of field work I find that with this I can save tons of time and gather top quality data already neatly organised, digitised and geo-referenced. I'm never going back from this!! :D

Excellent app

Love this app so i bought the pro on my s3. I had to upgrade my phone and found out I don't have pro anymore even on the same google account. Is there anyway I can get my pro back? 5 dollars is 5 dollars

Have tried numerous geological compass apps and this one seems to be the best of the bunch. Now all they need is a shape file export.

Easy to use. Very nice interface. Best app for your field geology needs.

Nice App

This app is grate for geological mapping, fast & accurate,but export options are limited ,even in pro version export to Google kmz is not functioning. No kmz file is visible after export in said file location. I need a help

Could use mapping linework option like iOS app. Also, Is there a way to move a locality WITH all its associated data (attitudes, notes, photos, etc) as opposed to using "Move Data" repetitively for each individual data point. I don't think this functionality exists, and users will need to be eagle-eyed to make sure the GPS didn't shut off. Also a select all/none option would be great in Stereonet and in Visible Localities to make sorting data faster.

When it worked, I loved using this app on a fluvial survey I did this spring. My only complaint of the app is also the reason I had to stop using it. I used this app a total of 4 times, saving each day's work as a separate project. Days 1 and 2 worked fine, but when I went to export my day 3 data that evening, it was gone. All of it. Projects 1 and 2 were gone too, but fortunately I had already exported their data to my computer previously. I lost an entire days work, but I figured I must have accidentally done something to cause this and that I would be more careful in the future. My next field day I saved as a new project called "Day 4" and was careful all day long not to accidentally delete it. When I left the site that evening, I confirmed it was all there. However, when got home and went to export it, everything was gone again. There was no saved data anywhere in the app. I even plugged in my phone via USB and went through the FieldMove Clino file directory to double check. Nothing. Two days of work and pay were lost. I had to take a weekend, without pay, to go out and redo days 3 & 4. I can't afford to try it again. I can't count on it to work. Wasted $10 on Pro, too.

Very useful in the field, and free version isn't overly restrictive

Just downloaded. UI looks great. But It wud have been much better if we give a code to each reading in particular locality. Take a reading and then get a option to take a set of photos that will be attached to that particular reading with same code.

Love the app but I wish the stereo net functionality worked offline. I'm willing to work with the crashes, but as a crash resets my pro license all I get is the demo stereo net page until I'm next online. Alas!

Love the app and use it whenever i'm working or studying in the field. Only issue is it crashes when taking images and notes, also happens when reviewing the same. Other than this its brilliant! Fix the crashes and you get another star!

Useful for keeping all your data easily accessible and in one coherent place.
