About Birthdays
The Birthday app is a reminder and contact management app with the goal of making sure you keep in touch with your friends and contacts. In addition to showing the standard list of contacts there are additional lists showing all contacts with birthdays so you do not have to search anymore.
The app allows creating app-internal contacts which do not show up outside of the app. This allows you for instance to keep track of birthdays of the friends of your kids without having to create contacts for them.
To keep your data safe export to various standard contact data formats is supported (vCard, jCard) allowing you to easily transfer any data you created in the app to the contact app or other apps. As these formats are limited in content a json based format can be used for exporting and importing in case you switch to a new phone and want to transfer your data.
The app notifies you about upcoming events on standard and user defined times on the day of the event as well as in advance. Each notification type can be switched on or off as needed. To keep an eye on the upcoming events there are several widgets in various sizes included in the app so you are always up to date whose birthday is next.
In case you do not have time to call of message right now the app includes the option of custom reminders for specific persons to easily call friends when it is most convenient for you. Messages can be based on templates which you can define according to your preferences and may include special tags to automatically fill in the contacts name for instance.
In addition to the standard calendar system the app supports the Hebrew, Islamic, Buddhist (Thai), Coptic and Ethiopic calendar systems as well. You can choose one of these as the main calendar systems for the whole application as well as just for single events separately.
There is both a free and a paid version of the app available. The full version is 100% advertisement free and allows you to switch between the standard white theme and a black theme.

It's really good, however: 1. You should add a way to move/merge app contact to phone contacts. 2. Option to see from where the contact is located, if it is on app or phone, an should be located at far right of the name. 3. Had tried a number of birthday/date event apps before finding and settling with Birthdays. Very good user interface, looks smart, and able to pull out birthday and anniversary dates from my contacts. Good notifications with plenty of settings to be customised. Perfect... but more alert options would be good. And please change the alert icon or have a choice. The stock alert icon is so basic or crude looking!

I've been using the free version for years and finally decided to buy it. Seems good so far, but I don't like the picture on the right in the widget, please move it back to the left. It looks very messy this way, also the picture was bigger when it was on the left. (Note 2)

There is no help included in the app or on their website. I am unable to sync all facebook contacts. Also it says with the paid version you get a black background for android 4 devices and I have 4.3 and there is no option for a black background that I can see. Again there is no help option so I may just be doing it wrong.

No more auto syncing with Facebook , I have received the msg after buying the full version as it appears Facebook API has been altered, but this info should have been included in the details, if I knew, I wouldn't have bought the app !

I have tried every birthday app out there, but this one is almost perfect! Integrates contact and Facebook birthdays, so I no longer need separate apps. Would just like to see options for 3x3 and 4x4 widgets - and then it would be perfect! :)
