HumOn - Simplest Music Maker for Android
Great concept, and I'm aware that this is just a beta right now, but the app just does not work right. Everytime I try to record, it gets all of the notes wrong. I tried altering in setting but it makes no difference. Hopefully when the app is finished it will work right but as of now not at all
Very primitive app. The thing is, making this into awesome thing shouldnt be so hard. There are allready sofware which can do this only ten times better. I was hoping to get smth like that for android but this is kindergarten level. Sorry but not sorry.
This could actually be a tool instead of a toy if developers woulr let you save your creation as midi instead of m4a. Add layers.
Hmmm very inaccurate, I'm sitting in front of a piano and it can't repeat single notes back to me...like the concept and interface...but not quite there yet
I love the simple nature of this. It would be a fantastic tool for recording ideas and utilizing them layer in a sequencer at home, if only just include midi export support.
Incredibly inaccurate.
Excellent
The first time I was confused how to do it.. along with the time ..maybe you guys can improve the UI setting with help option and display tutorial on screen? other than that this app does its job even I tried it with the guitar and its works fine lol.. of course with some adjustments well done for Beta.
Does exactly what it says remarkably well. Accurate and easy to use. I hope midi export is planned for a future update. I do most of my work on my computer, and use this to take notes on the run when inspiration strikes. Not having to transcribe is essential for streamlining this process. I'd also love a couple other (non-essential) features: ability to record harmonies, add to the end of a recording (playing back a few measures before recording) or otherwise piece together multiple recordings, and adding repeats and da Capos. All suggestions aside, a really fun app. I'm excited to see where it goes.
it's a novelty at best. there is no way to switch off the quantization, no means to export as a midi file, pitch tracking is lackluster. The quantization appears to be the reason notes are missing
Im not pro so idk whats what but for a common person as me its W O N D E R F U L You have a great collection of playback voices! I love gunshots!
Terrible. Tried several humming techniques and this app failed consistently. Frustrating waste of time.
Amazing app! Been waiting for something like this for my phone :) It needs improvement though, it won't get triplets, and it doesn't recognize 16th notes properly. But what an amazing app! Looking forward to some updates
5 stars - being the first i have seen; for giving ppl a way to score original songs quickly, even if they know nothing about music theory(like me) -2 star - no way to add/delete incorrect notation -2 stars- too hard to export song +1.5- cuz its free with no ads(of which, and i am sure i can say this confidantly, everyone that has used it says THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH) Looking forward to seeing what you do with tgis a. Again thanks for it
Very good recognition. Would be perfect if it were able to export to MIDI.
Please Provide Piano Notes Along With Music Sheet Notation.
I dont know if i can save the song or not because it only says to share not save....so please help..
Not working like it should
amazing concept and now i can hum the tones and translate into music
Good app. But....need to add more features .
I really like this app! Im often too lazy to write out my music so this is perfect! I would really like it if for the more specific melody addtions like piano and orchestra the app would provide an option to give the staffs for those as well. I think it would help people like me looking for a reference for composing, as well as letting you edit the generated music.
Okay, so overall this app is a gift to mankind! Genius! Especially great for people who don't really know how to play music/write music/too lazy to do the above (me). Maybe it's my phone but I'm finding that the music stalls whilst starting to play and everything kind of goes haywire. Often I find myself closing the app and then opening it to try and play my recorded music again. When I try to share my music it says "fail to play music". Also, I feel that when you're recording, there should be a pause button, in case your masterpiece is coming along great but you need to do something. But again, great app would definitely reccomend to those interested in composing music.
The thing was bad at picking up the sound. I put the speaker close to my mouth but it still didn't work. I even used my piano to play ode to joy but it didn't sound like ode to joy. At all. It sounded like death xD
Simply awesome Please add the following features * Change tempo of recorded tracks * Add more hummed tracks to make a complete song * Change a particular chord or two of recorded tracks Thanks a lot, guys for making a budding musician's dream come true. I can foresee myself bagging a music award.
Hello! I see unlimited potential for this app, it's everything I've ever wanted! But it hope it will add new instruments, and more features that will improve itself, I must say, for me it is very slow and laggy, but I'm sure that's just my crowded phone, but if it is not, I'd hope you improve that also! I think maybe you would have more success if you also made it a computer program, just a thought, anyway, love this app!!!
This type of music maker is something I have been looking for a long time. It's wonderful, I was playing with it for such a long time. However, I think it is very limited in its "making music" part. I know I can hum it, yes, but sometimes the audio doesn't pick it up the right key. Also, I really want to add and delete notes. So far I can only alter the notes already existing to make it shorter or longer, but not really delete and add a new one completely. Or, even, why not have the singing part an option? Why not simply make a new music sheet, and add and delete notes and change the key straight from your mind and play it randomly to see how it turns out. Then I would be absolutely blown away because that would help me so much with my music making. But this has so much potential. I'll keep in tune to see what changes over time.
It's a fantastic idea, pretty great! Only issues is sometimes it dosent properly identify the key or the timing so that can be a bit off setting. As well, it would be nice to have it in other time signatures that you could change if nessesary, such as 3/4 to 4/4 or even 3/6 or other timings. That would make the app much more enjoyable.
First time i used it the app seemed great but after that it just wouldnt record my humming... it just kept showing a circle like a timer constantly going round. So i tried going to home page then back to this app and it still did the same thing.
I like the idea of them app. Its easy fun and great for music lovers. The down side of the app (based on my experiance) is that the tune of the music is off. It lags so much. I cant move the notes. It doesnt have that adjusting speed thingys. I hope you can fix it.
I had this idea 2 years ago but never did anything with it. I'm so happy someone else had the same idea and knew how to execute it. There are a lot of kinks and bugs that still need to be worked out (freezes when I try to go back to the main record screen after saving a melody), but this is a really good start with this beta version. A few suggestions. Add a loop feature so you can loop the short melody you create. Add more instruments that sound realistic instead of sounding like a cheap toy keyboard. It would be nice to merge different melodies to create a full song with a hook, bridge, and fade out. Add hip hop option. If headphones aren't connected add a visual metronome to keep time and tempo. Add export to mp3 or wav file.
I think this really has potential but it's not quite there yet as a beta. The 1/16th accuracy helps, but it still had some trouble with discerning rythms even when changing recording tempo to something higher. The editor has a decent and intuitive ui, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to delete notes (I would suggest adding rests to the end of a measure, and moving the following notes backward to fill the deleted space.)
This is an AMAZING app. It gets rid of my problem with transferring melodies from my mind, to other apps. Also, I have a question: Can I use my creations for a game soundtrack?
I am 46, been trying to write music for over a year now. In order to get my stuff copyrighted, i have to submit a melody in written musical notation form. I absolutely could not do that...til yesterday , when i found this app. This could be an awesome teaching tool , have you guys thought about that yet?
I thought i finally found it! But i was quite dissapointed to see that the generated notes dont match my voice, ive tried 18 made up humming songs which werent good when translated to notes, it didnt even sound like my humming! It felt as if some notes were completely out of place, maybe its my voice crack? But it couldnt be, since i only got it once out of 18 songs, ive adjusted the settings that also didnt work, ...but eh, its a free app at least...but if ya wanna make a career out of humming, better buy imitone ( which is expensive ) or some other professional program...but i expect something better from this app, there should be a way to simplify the notes ""thickness"" or something
Love this app, it helps me to compose chords to many melodies that I have saved through out many years without having the proper talent
Amazing development opportunities. I have always dreamed of a gadget like this. But please let us be able to save it as a midi at least ones own melody
This app is unique I love this once even I had an idea to create such an app but had no support and how to do it so that's why the took me by its possibility to compose music for composers like me. Thanks to the development team for such an lovely piece of creation.
I almost never leave reviews but this app is truly amazing. Well done. Keep developing, this app is gold
Very interesting and quick. I am not that bothered about the attaching an image bit. Is possible to export results as a midi file? Is it possible to export the notation as a pdf or similar? Is it possible to delete notes and rests?

I love the concept of the app. So far, the only problems I have is the slightly inaccurate relaying of notes and unstableness of the app. I think that it should not automatically save for you and instead give you a choice to discard or save it. What would make it better is if you were able to layer tracks, use different instruments, and if there were more functions.
