Easy DIY Leather Passport Holder

The vacation season is officially on, and we continue telling you of cool crafts that will make any trip easier and more pleasant. here we’ve rounded up passport covers and holders that will save your documents from any scratches or other accidents and make your papers easier to find in any big bag. Choose the material you like: paper, fabric, suede or leather; measure your passport and cut the material accordingly. Suede or leather is perhaps the best choice as these are durable and stylish materials. If you want, you may add some pattern like polka dots, flowers, stripes or some quotes. Materials Needed:
leather
fabric
scissors
sewing machine and tools
small binder clips

- Measure and Cut
Cut a piece of leather and a piece of fun, patterned fabric, each measuring 11x5-1/2 inches.

- Clip in Place
Layer the leather and fabric pieces on top of one another, right sides facing out. Place clips in the center to hold the pieces together. Fold the outer edges in approximately 1 1/2 inches and clip those as well. Tip: Use clips instead of pins to avoid punching holes in the leather. You may want to experiment with the right tools for the textiles that you use.

- Sew Pieces Together
Sew a straight stitch along all four sides, approximately 1/4-inch from the edge.

- Insert Your Passport
