About Twenty: Stand up every 20 mins

Even if you live an active lifestyle, sitting for long periods of time can lead to build up of excess fats and cholesterol in your body. People who work desk jobs sit for hours at a time, without getting up at all. Even if your ride your bike to and from work, all that time in a chair is affecting your health. However, you can fight the effects of sitting by standing up for 2 minutes every 20 minutes.

Twenty is a very simple app. Once activated it will remind you stand up and move every 20 minutes. When you sit down at your desk, simply open Twenty and pull down on the switch to activate your reminders. Every 20 minutes you will receive a simple notification prompting you to stand up.

Twenty has been specifically designed so it can provide you with notifications, even when you are using other applications without burning down your battery. It uses a passive alarm system that doesn't run constantly in the background so you wont need to worry about it hurting your phone's performance.

I miss the app Stand Up! that I had on my Iphone. This doesnt come near to it. You cannot set your workdays and -times. If you open another application it runs in the background without the alarm going off. Unfortunately no good apps for this kind of issues available on android.

Free and no ads gets it a 5 right off the bat. It's useful and easy to use. It doesn't turn itself off -- keeps timing in negative numbers after it does its initial countdown to 20 minutes. It would be nice if it could reset to 20 minutes continually until you turn it off. But, does its job.

M70%
by M####:

Works but wish it would stay on top; if I go to another app or page on phone it will not sound and it will show for example -5 as in it sounded 5 mins ago. But because it wasn't open nothing sounded. Boo

I must be thick, but I can't see how to turn it off for the night. Or in a movie. Or on a plane.

Brilliant App, minimalist, no special permissions. Happily donated because of how much pleasure it has brought me. Makes my work days at the desk so much more bearable and helps keep me on track. Thank you.

It wont make a sound or vibrate. I have a galaxy s5 and it's a very common phone... but it doesnt even work on it. Don't waste ur time

Was going to buy a Jawbone UP2 to remind me to walk around the office every once in a while. Then I realized instead of spending $100+ I can just download this app. Simple and easy to use, although some parts are not very intuitive, such as turning off the timer. But overall great app!

K70%

Great app. Was glad someone mentioned how to turn it off, though. I wouldn't have figured that out. I'm standing as I write this. :-)

Its great app. Can you release an update so that we can feed our own time. like 3 min or 12 min etc... and get alerts according to it. Hatts off to your no ad apps.

Not so good in looking but is very useful to me.

The vibrate option does not work but the sound notification does. Other than that it does what it says. Galaxys6

K70%

This lightweight app does exactly what I want it to, no more or less. It's especially handy since my hours vary a lot so a scheduled time is not really useful. This is just what I need and I appreciate the lack of bloat.

B70%

Could use a little polishing though.

K70%

Stops working sometimes. When opened again shows - 251 mins left. Needs to be checked by developer.

No option to set office timings..

K70%

Simple clean app but would like to be able to select notification type (sound only, vibrate only or both sound and vibrate.

K70%
by K####:

What does negative minutes mean??

K70%
by K####:

It will notify me to get up and move but the notificatio does not clear and the counter does not reset unless i donit manually, and i dont think i should have to.

K70%
by K####:

You have to pull the arrows down after you install to activate it. So far it's working like it should, 40 mins in and has already notified me twice to get up.

S70%

Just thought for an alarm for the same purpose, and found this app. Great and thanks.

S70%

It counts down fine but alarm didn't sound...!

I70%

A simple and pleasant app. The directions are clear, but it did take me a minute to figure out the slide motions for on and off are not versatile...but then it was easy.

Q70%
by Q####:

I was trying to find an app that I could configure a timer every 20 minutes, but strangely hard to find. Little did I expect there would be an app exactly for what I was looking for, getting up every 20 mins while at work. The only thing I'd ask for is the ability to automatically start/stop the timer rather than having to even remember turning on the app in the morning or off when I leave. Would love to be able to enter 9-5 and not mess with it every morning and evening.

Q70%
by Q####:

Great ap. Easy to use, simple, no frills. It'd be cool if there was a way to have it automatically start/stop during set hours. Like to be able to set it to start at 8 AM and stop at 5 PM every Monday-Friday. But it's so easy to start and stop (just swipe the screen) that it's just a matter of remembering to do it.

Q70%
by Q####:

The program doesn't play tune when time is up. Main function missing , if fixed it should be excellent

D70%
by D####:

Why doesn't it notify me every time?

N70%
by N####:

Nice idea for an app, but need improvements. 1st, bug fixes. 2nd, there isn't notification for "back to work". 3rd, The app need times to be active, unless, it's going to live in loops all day.

N70%
by N####:

in addition to it's stated purpose, I often use it to remind me of of things for work like checking in on experiments i'm running. 5 stars

X70%

I must be thick, but I can't see how to turn it off for the night. Or in a movie. Or on a plane.

S70%

Very simple and useful. Does what it's supposed to do. The options to change time interval and ringtone are great! Thanks for the app!

V70%

Exactly what I was looking for because my back has been hurting from sitting for too long.

Just what I looking for

M70%
by M####:

My biggest problem is I need to unlock the phone to dismiss the alarm (Galaxy Nexus w/4.2.2). Would be great if it could be a replacement clock widget. Screen blackens while timer runs, then alarm fires and clockface pops to the top, unlocking the phone just for this app. Then just touch the screen to turn off alarm, another simple touch to restart. I would need to unlock to turn off between alarm cycles, or not, see what you can do.

Just thought for an alarm for the same purpose, and found this app. Great and thanks.

S70%
by S####:

It's easy to forget to stand and stretch at work. This simple app does the trick very well! There are more intensive apps out there but that wasn't what I am looking for. I do agree that an easier on and off would be preferable but it's still a 5 star app.
