Shortwave Radio Schedules
This app provides schedules and frequencies for shortwave radio broadcasts throughout the world. Information is also included on some utility stations, Firedrake jammer etc.
Information is taking from the Eibi schedule (http://www.eibispace.de/) and AOKI Schedule.
Location permissions are for mapping features for Google Maps API and displaying your current location on a map. For full source code see - https://code.google.com/p/shortwaveschedules/
RECORDING PERMISSION - This is for recording your DX catches or anything else you are listening to using the built in logging option. If you choose to share the log then the mp3 recording is uploaded to a server I run along with the station name and frequency (but no information about the user or your location) and a link is returned to be shared for example http://9915.khz.mobi/b .
The app has the following features:
*Schedules easily updated from Eibi and stored on device meaning data connection is not needed once schedules are downloaded.
* Search by time showing all stations broadcasting to a chosen target area at a specific time
* Search by station showing either complete station schedule and frequencies or only broadcasts of a station at a chosen time
* Search by frequency to identify a station you are listening to either at a specific time or any time.
* Search by language to find stations only broadcasting in a specific language.
* Shows maps of transmitters location and beam direction from AOKI list
* Log your DX catches, record audio recordings of the station and share your logs using Android share options.
Results show the station name, the broadcast start and end time, the target area of the station (EU, Asia, Africa, North America etc.) and a list of frequencies including the transmitter location (swipe across to see more frequencies)

After installing it, it tries to update the shortwave schedule, but it just crashes after a few seconds. Tried restarting it about 10 times and it just kept crashing. Epic fail.

Well for free this is truly excellent, a few bugs here and there but nothing too extreme. It gives me quick access to stations of all kinds.

If you are a shortwave radio listener, this app is a must have. Easy to use, accurate and loaded with usefull features. If I could add any features, it would be Solar (SFI) condition information tab and maybe a favorite station list tab. The audio record somtimes crashes the app and I have to restart, but I don't use that much so not a big deal.

Was really good for a week. Now it just stops working when I update info and can't find any stations. Tried uninstalling and reinstall but now will not get past 6% of station download so will not start up at all. Emailed developer and got a reply within the hour and a fix within 2 hours.

Takes forever to load database when it does load. Can't get the logger to log. I put in the frequency and time and press search and I get nothing. Will keep trying but not to impressed right now. What am I doing wrong? I am not God's gift to the android world, but I am not stupid either. Help

This is indispensable for me during my nightly SWL sessions. The schedule is always spot on and the mapping of the transmitter is very helpful for pining down which station your listening to on a crowded band. I wouldn't mind a dark/black US since I keep the room dark to reduce interface and the white is hard on the eyes. Also expanding on the Log features would be great.

Very handy. I like how it shows the direction of the transmissions. My only problem with it is every time I try to record for my log, the app stops working.

There are too many stations in the list. I hope the developer can allow users to add some stations to the favourites list, so that it will be easier to find the frequencies. Thank you.

Too many utility stations(HF air band such as 8903 kHz) listed as station in English, which is annoying for me as l'm only trying to search for broadcast stations. Would be nice if there's an option to filter them out.
