************** Launch Promotion ****************

The pioneering Android overclocking utility “Afterburner APP” was co-developed by MSI and well-known software programmer "Nick Connors". The new Afterburner utility allows the Android-based smartphones and tablets to adjust or monitor Afterburner settings on PC over a Wi-Fi connection. In addition to monitoring the temperature, voltage and fan speed, the utility can also be used for overclocking and overvoltaging!

Quick installation guide:

Before you want to test MSI Afterburner APP on Android Phone/tablet, you will need:

1. A windows xp sp3 (with .NET 2)/vista/7 system with a discrete graphics card and is able to connect to internet/intranet.
2. An android cellphone or tablet has wifi function. (the O/S should be higher v2.1)
3. The system and cellphone or tablet can connect to each other over internet or intranet.

“RemoteServer” is a utility which should be placed in the system. Just make sure all files are under in the same folder.
“MSIAfterburner.apk” is an app which should be installed in Android cellphone or tablet.

Make sure the system has installed the afterburner 2.1.0 or above version, and it has to be started so RemoteServer can read the H/W status through it.

How to work - Step by step:

1. Put the folder for RemoteServer on desktop for easy access
2. Run Afterburner (2.1.0 or above version)
3. Run "MSIAfterburnerRemoteServer.exe" to open up the RemoteServer
4. Verify that the remoteServer is running in background
5. Run Afterburner APP on Android cellphone or tablet
6. Enter the system IP (you can find ip over RemoteServer) into the IP settings of Afterburner APP to make a connection of Afterburner APP and Remote Server.
7. If the monitoring and OC funtions work properly, now it's time to enjoy it!

BTW, each clock/voltage/fan adjustment over afterburner app, you will have to press "apply"!

Guys and gals, just try the following steps to get it working. I got it to work on my first try! 1. Download the msi afterburner server on Windows and double click on the server executable (after unzip if its a zip file) and that's it. You should see the server icon in your system tray on the bottom rite where your time shows. 2. Enter the IP shown in the server, into the app. To do so, just go to settings and click on host IP. Enter the IP shown in ur server and do the same for security key! Enjoy!

Only an idiot wouldn't know how to use this software. If your advanced enough to overclock, using this is doing it the easy way theres no more simple way to change your clock and fan settings. And from your phone might I add. Beautiful. I LOVE IT. If I could give 10 stars I would.

The app is useful if you can get it working. I must admit, it is nice being able to see my usages and temps from my phone. But honestly, the app needs a UI update. This is 100% the ugliest app I've ever used. So, please, almighty MSI, make it modern.

C70%
by C####:

Gives remote settings options even when playing a game! For the ones saying "wish there was a start at boot option" for the server app, make a shortcut for the app and put it in the startup folder within all programs in the "Start" menu....

T70%
by T####:

This app has potential and the idea is brilliant, but you need to provide instructions for IP network configuration. Both with this app and your remote server software. I'm gonna fiddle with this a little more before I give up.

T70%

Good app. Doesn't work with current generation Samsung Devices. There is no ability to apply your settings for an overclock. I have seen where it should be and how to access it but it simply isn't there for my tablets or my phone. Cheers. Monitoring works fine though.

Z70%
by Z####:

Does exactly what I needed it for. Monitoring resources from my tablet when no second monitor is available. By the way, if you get the "Access Denied" message, reduce the number of sensors you are monitoring in AB and it should work.

H70%
by H####:

So first of all, the connection seems kinda easy to set up but the server needs a start with windows option, the monitor need some damn graphs, or at least organize that damn tab and don't even get me started on the OC tab, it's literally a slider simulator, can't even apply the settings, it's hard to see the purpose of this app other than some Cpu and Gpu monitoring but that could be done with way better software after all.

T70%
by T####:

Battlefield 1 crashes when using desktop version. Using DX 12. The fonts could be larger or allow us to select which we want to show on the phones for easier reading

T70%
by T####:

So it's great to monitor, but how the hell am I supposed to overclock? It's given me no option to save my settings so I'm essentially just playing with sliders and enjoying that. No overclocking or fan changes actually occur -.-

Love it with my new 750 ti. One thing to improve the app is to add "run on start up" for remote server would make it the ultimate app so you're always connected!

J70%
by J####:

The apply button isnt even there. I hold down on every part of the screen to see if i get options to apply the settings but i can't apply. Completely useless

C70%

Dont even start up on any of my phones

Great App!. I like that I don't have to use overlays while playing games with this application. Needs GUI improvement. The text on the frame rate row moves around.

D70%
by D####:

Well made app. Wish I could customize or make the text size larger in the "monitor" section. Also it would be nice to select which items show up in monitor, or a "pin to top of the list" function. Lots of potential here to be a must-have app for PC enthusiasts

T70%
by T####:

But I'm having a bit of trouble, the connections is working fine and I can monitor everything through this app. But I can't save the settings through the app. Any workaround or tips?

T70%
by T####:

5 star for the app. 1 for no instructions on how to use it properly. To apply settings HOLD the app switch button. (the double square button).

K70%

Hi app works great just one thing I want from it.........a settings button because my Galaxy S7 does not have one so I can't overclock or adjust fan speeds from app. Otherwise nice app thumbs up!!!

T70%

You have ant+, BT, and Wi-Fi l to make it work without port forwarding, make it so.

L70%

If you're gonna take the time to make an app like this, leave some instructions on how to use it, the 7 steps above don't help at all, following them to a T results in "Unable to connect to MSI Afterburner host" - server is running, IP is set, etc etc - fail

Basically, this is an app that allow you to overclock the gpu of DESKTOP COMPUTER remotely via your phone, NOT TO OVERCLOCK THE PHONE'S GPU. I have to carefully read the description to find out. Still, nice app from msi.

T70%
by T####:

I can't oc my gpu from this app, there's no apply button. Just the slider. I have no menu button on my phone. I see some video that showing me how to use this app, most of them are use their menu button from their phone to pop up the on screen apply button.

Major problems with remote server connecting issues. Googled to find some fix. But everyone is facing the same issue

X70%
by X####:

Too many network settings very poor instructions and very poor basic system needs a lot of work and all lot more instructions about ports and everything if this app is ever going to be usable

D70%
by D####:

I was getting "Access Denied" in the monitoring section but not the overclocking section. Fixed it by disabling a few monitored stats in Afterburner (for me, I disabled the individual usage and temperature stats for each processor core)

D70%
by D####:

Works well, great idea. Needs to be updated! Not a deal breaker, just shocking to see the old 2.3 or older menus.

D70%
by D####:

App works great just. Just enabled the app through windows firewall for connection and input the IP address and port on app along with security key. As far as starting on Windows startup I just created a task to open it upon log in. Great app would be nice to have a graph interface to track changes overtime

D70%
by D####:

Its been a long time that I used a app that didn't give me problems or did not read my sensors, this app makes my life easier. Thanks and keep it up!!!

J70%
by J####:

it doesn-t work on my note3 on android 4.3 i correctly set the firewall rules and connections are incoming. But it still says timeout. I tried changing ports. Nothing.

D70%
by D####:

Awesome way to track gpu temps & other stats while gaming

J70%
by J####:

Needs to be able to switch profiles and needs an updated look. Works perfect other than that. To get the server to run on startup, make a shortcut of the server exe and put it in your startup folder.

unable to conect msi server. so useless app.

My droid max won't run this because it can't communicate properly with network.

This is an old app that doesn't work anymore. :(

The display interface needs to improved. Provide options to display only specific information. The desktop app has great skins, hopefully we can get similar on the app as the primary display. Option to display time would as also be great.

MSI afterburner is a #musthave #appkiller for gpu tweaks! For PC .....

D70%
by D####:

App doesn't work. There isn't an "apply" button to confirm the settings. Backing out reverts to the original settings. Once again, not confirmation so there is literally no point for the overclocking tab. Useless

D70%
by D####:

It works very well, but i think that bluetooth is needed
