WineRatings+ (Trial)

This app gives the ability to find and sort various wines and read about their quality and characteristics. It also gives rudimentary teaching about selecting wines and pairing wines with food. My only complaint is that the subscription should be free if you subscribe to the magazine.

I've had a subscription to magazine and on line for at least 15 years. Should be able to use this app in conjunction with my subscriptions. Disappointed!

This app worked great, at first. Paying for it and can't even get passed the screen for a 'free trial' so I can search for a wine. Lame. Too buggy.

Wine Spectator should be ashamed of this app. For one of the best wine magazines in this world they've really messed up what was once a good thing.

I bought an online 2 year subscription to the website and now you want me to give you an additional $3/month for the same content just through a smartphone app? I think not. When my subscription expires, I'll be done doing business with WS.

No response from email after I can't use search engine. Loyal magazine subscriber for years and have to pay for this. Would have been ok if it worked, cos who can remember all those reviews.

Paying for the online and print subscriptions for many years. Am insulted by your greed. No need to cough up more money. Lots of other excellent content available online. You will drive loyal subscribers away by your behavior. Shame on you.

I have a subscription but can't access it on my android because there is no way to specify the email address listed on the account

This app is terrible and does not work. I have paid for an online subscription to Wine Spectator for more than 5 years and it works well from a browser on a phone. However, this app is terrible. It finds nothing I search for. I was at the wine store and searched for 10+ wines starting with Chateau and it found 0. However, when I open Wine Spectator mobile on my phone browser it finds them all. This app is useless. I am sad I wasted my money.

I saved about 20 favorites last week during the trial period. They are all gone. What a waste of time. I'm cancelling.

Just downloaded the app. Out of the 6 bottles of wine I searched, only 1 was in the database. It won't be worth it if I can't find the wine.

I subscribe to the magazine and site but you expect me to pay for this too? That's basically stealing, what a rip off

The app is perfect. I can find all of the trusted WS ratings I need, get great value driven recommendations and search for that special occasion bottle.

I've been getting the magazine and been an online member for a decade. I've been waiting for an app. Now you want to charge me even more to use it. No thanks. It should be part of the magazine subscription.

This app is a ploy to get the equivalent of $36 annual magazine subscription revenue. There is little free content and ANYTHING you click on brings up the intrusive subscription purchase form. I used to respect Wine Spectator and their business practices, but after this app uninstall, I am cancelling my magazine subscription !

I have subscribed to WS for more years than I can remember, either in print, on-line, or both, and was very happy to see an Android app for wine ratings finally appear. Then I found out it only gives vintage charts for free and to get everything else means I have to pay a monthly fee! I couldn't believe it. I agree with a fee if you don't subscribe to the magazine, but if you do, no way! Sorry, WS, but this subscriber will not be renewing at the end of my current subscription, and thanks to your insult, will not be paying for the app to find out how good/bad it is. COSTCO and my favorite local wine shop is all I need to ensure I find a wine I like at a justifiable price. Adios.

I subscribe to both the print version and also the online website and you now want me to pay for the app? What are you even thinking? I have loved Wine Spectator, but I now despise your business practices and I will badmouth it to everybody I know on every chance I get until you roll the app in at no extra charge for people who already subscribe to the website.

Ridiculous. I already subscribe to WS online, why would I pay you a monthly fee to use this app?

I currently subscribe to both the magazine and the online site. I was shocked to see you have to pay to use the app (especially when it looks like the Apple version is free). At the very least it should be free for current subscribers. As others have pointed out I can access my online account through my smart phone, but the interface is pretty clumsy. I was hoping that the app would be more streamlined specifically for at the liquor store.

I could see charging a monthly fee if you don't have a paper subscription. But why not allow those that do use their account or customer number as the key to enable the app? Also, a trial means enable all the features for the trial period.

Please, I have a subscription for magazine and online, I should have full use of this app without paying!

The vintage information is woefully outdated. 2010 as the most recent CA cab vintage (for example). Seriously? Aside: pricing on the full app for subscribers is criminally high.

This is just an app to access content I've already paid for, and it's not as good as the website. It's not new content; it's a new delivery system. You're asking digital subscribers to pay $3/month to USE an app, they've already paid for the content. Do people using the IOS app also pay twice?

Pay again, no thanks. Great mag, awful decision to charge loyal customers twice. Uninstall.

Cancelled the magazine subscription because I was tired of playing twice with the online version. Certainly not going to pay a 3rd time for the App.

I subscribe to Wine Spectator online for years and I was excited to hear that WS finally has an Android app. I thought this app would grant me access to wine reviews for what I pay for the monthly subscription to the magazine, but it doesn't. The app is a glorified vintage chart. Why should I use the app when the web version works and is included in my subscription? Uninstalling! WS has left a bad taste in my mouth for the way they are treating loyal customers. If WS wants to increase subscriptions, they should offer magazine subscribers access to the app and offer non-magazine subscribers the app subscription. Best of both worlds.

They want you to pay even if you already subscribe to the online stuff. No thanks. I'll use the browser at no additional charge.

Mr.Shanken has outdone himself with greed. It is bad enough for dead tree subscribers to have to pay for online access. Now making us pay again for access through this app is over the top . I'm uninstalling the app right away.
