About imSafe
Supported by our team of Professional Security Agents, imSafe allows you to carry a personal emergency security system with you in your pocket. As an imSafe subscriber, simply press the blue button three times quickly to alert one of our Security Agents that you need help. With features like Instant Dispatch, which sends the police immediately to your GPS location, Listen-In, which allows our Agents to listen to your situation and send the police only if you need them, and Emergency Medical which sends medical help to your location, imSafe is the app you need to keep you and your family safe anywhere you go.
Important – After downloading imSafe, go to the imsafeanywhere.com/register website to subscribe to the required imSafe Security Monitoring Service.
Alerts
imSafe can send any one of five different Alerts:
- Instant Dispatch Alert – send police
- Listen-In Alert – security agents determine whether to send police
- Medical Emergency Alert – chronic medical condition, medical emergencies
- Roadside Assistance Alert – car accidents, broken down by side of road, lost
- Test Alert – test your GPS signal anywhere in the world
You may find yourself walking to your car late at night, or in a bad area, or broken down by the side of the road and you just don't feel safe. imSafe gets you the help you need with the push of a button.
911 vs. imSafe
For 911 to be able to send you help from your cell phone, they must be able to verbally verify your location and type of emergency. 911 Centers do not have the technology necessary to find you on your cell phone. There are many types of emergency situations where you might not be able to call 911 and tell the operator the nature of your emergency and your location.
How imSafe Works:
Get Help from Real People - our Professional Security Monitoring means you'll always have a live Agent to help you. Our Security Agents are highly trained and certified to quickly and efficiently respond to your emergency, no matter the situation.
GPS Location Tracking - imSafe tracks your location and sends it to our security team when you need help. Works anywhere you can receive a signal and sends your location only upon sending an Alert.
Abduction Tracking - allows our Agents to track and report your route and new location to the police.
Built-in False Alarm Prevention - prevents accidental alerts by requiring that you press the Send Alert button 3 times quickly to send an Alert.
Blind Alerts with Alert Confirmation - allow you to send alerts from within your pocket or handbag and vibrates to confirm an alert has been sent.
Alert Cancellation - allows you to cancel an alert after entering your passcode.
Alert Recordings - allows imSafe to record when set to Listen In mode. These recordings can be admissible in court as evidence.
Note
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
imSafe… keeping you safe anywhere.
by Q####:
I'm giving this only four stars because the company seems not to want to be up-front and open about what it costs. Yes, it's on the website, but not so's-ya'd-notice. So one star deduction for that. However, that said, what this app does is really the only proper way to do a smartphone "panic button" sort of thing. Most smartphone panic button apps let you call, or send a text or email to, whomever you choose -- a few even post that you're in trouble right to your facebook wall -- but when it comes right down to it, they may or may not really know how to help you. The people who get notified by this app, though, are trained professionals. Of course, it costs money. Given how rarely one would need and actually USE something like this, $15/mo is just too much. Were I running this company, a one-time setup of $19.95, plus $29.95/year is how I would have priced it. Shame on the app maker for both not being fully tranparent about pricing; and also for price gouging. I probably should have deducted another star for the price gouging part, but the truth is that this app really is the right way to do this sort of thing, and this company does it well. It just COSTS too much.
