WHAT IS MUSIC MEMORY CARDS?
This product was first created in 2001 as a huge set of printed flashcards. It sold thousands of copies worldwide, but due to rising production costs, the printed version has been discontinued. This app version is a customizable set of animated/audio flashcards for use on your mobile device. It helps musicians of all ability levels learn topics like: Chord and interval spelling, key signatures, notes and clefs, and ear-training. Whether you're a college level music student, a musician who wants to improve your ear, or a beginner who wants to learn notes on the music staff, this is the app for you.
CUSTOMIZABLE AND EASY TO USE
Choose your topic and cards and you're ready to go. Animated cards appear on your screen, then simply swipe left or right for a new card and up or down to flip the cards over. Make the app look and sound the way you want and control the level of difficulty with the easy to use options menu.
The app has two main sections:
EAR TRAINING
Have you always wanted to be able to figure out how to play a song just by listening to it? Ear-training can help you do that. Our unique audio flashcards allow you to hear different types of chords and intervals so you can learn to identify them by ear. Unlike other products, our exercises use REAL INSTRUMENT SOUNDS for TEN DIFFERENT INSTRUMENTS.
THEORY MEMORIZATION
This is not a theory "lesson." Music theory can be learned just about anywhere, but what's often left out is THEORY MEMORIZATION. That's where this app can greatly benefit any musician, especially those at the college level. As a former music student and teacher myself, I would often see students relying on silly phrases or complex formulas to help them memorize things like key signatures and chord spellings. Those methods are time consuming. In college theory classes, you need to be fast when it comes to identifying chords and keys. Simply memorizing these things can greatly improve your music composition and improvisation skills. Imagine knowing what notes are in any chord instantly. Most teachers don't give their students any method to help with memorization. Now you have an easy to use app to help you.
