Scaricando la APP e registrandoti in un minuto, potrai collegarti automaticamente non appena il tuo smartphone rileverà la presenza, vicino a te, di un Hot Spot di una rete federata che trasmette la rete chiamata "wifi.italia.it". Con la APP non avrai più bisogno di compilare moduli e pagine di ingresso per accedere alle reti, perché sarà il tuo smarthpone a avvertirti con una notifica che si è già collegato. Proprio come succede con le reti WiFi di casa o dell’ufficio. Con un semplice tocco sulla notifica potrai inoltre aprire la APP e vedere alcuni contenuti che la rete che ti ospita in quel momento ha deciso di renderti disponibili.
Con le versioni future, in cui realizzeremo la registrazione con SPID e l'accesso per i PC portatili, vorremo fare in modo che questa APP diventi una piattaforma sempre più completa e semplice per dare a tutti i cittadini e i turisti non solo il servizio di navigazione internet, ma tanti altri contenuti e servizi che le amministrazioni e le istituzioni partecipanti metteranno a disposizione.
Controlla sulla mappa della APP gli hot spot e le reti che si sono federate e integrate fino ad oggi e vedi se ce n’è qualcuno vicino a te.
Il progetto parte nell’estate del 2017 e la copertura della rete integrata crescerà anche grazie alle sollecitazioni degli utenti alle istituzioni pubbliche delle loro città, ad entrare nel progetto wifi.italia.it, federare i loro punti WiFi e garantirne il funzionamento e la velocità di connessione.
Il progetto è partito come realizzazione di quanto stabilito nel 2016 con la firma del protocollo “per la diffusione di piattaforme intelligenti al servizio del turista sul territorio italiano” fra Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico, Ministero dei Beni e le Attività Culturali e l’Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale.
