Motorola Migrate for Android
I bought a new Motorola phone, transferred my stuff perfectly, but a week in it develops a fault. Get sent a new one and can't transfer all of my stuff from the broken one to the new one because you've stopped supporting your own app! Why? It was brilliant! And the new ones come loaded and ready for it. Last Motorola phone I ever get.
I had the moto x 1st gen and Motorola did a great job with migrate, but now that I got the moto x pure I can't get my important text message data and just all the stuff that made my phone mine. Lenovo you ruined it already?? I thought you would at least keep what Motorola had. But okay thanks for this bs
If the app is not supported on motorala phones (like the X Play) because it doesn't have Android 6 Marshmallow, then why have it? Motorala develops apps that cannot br applied on its own devices! How do I transfer data from my old phone? to be transferred??
The whole reason I got a new phone is because my old one has a lot of issues, among them a broken front and rear camera.. If only I could type in a code instead of scanning, I'd give it 5 stars
It's always disappointing to be duped by a major manufacturer (Motorola). Perhaps most frustrating is having all of my apps upgraded to (unwanted) upgraded versions. I read app reviews prior to upgrading and often decline upgraded versions. Migrate missed much of my data including contacts, music and album art. Also, it's an all or nothing choice of what to transfer. This app might work in Motorola's lab with minimal data installed but it failed miserably for me. Motorola Migrate sketchy at best.
I've just bought a new Moto G (3rd) and I'm really frustrated that I can't use the migrate app. I was really impressed when I used it for my previous phone Moto G (1st gen) which was party of the reason for getting another Motorola phone. The chances of me buying another Motorola phone again after now very slim. Very poor customer service!
Not everything has transferred from my old phone to my new phone. I can't plug in and upload half my music note because the media files are on my phone but in the wrong location. Wich I cannot find. Anyone else have this problem
I have previously used this app and it worked previously. Last time I switched from a Samsung Galaxy S3 to Moto E. This time it was from the Moto E to the Galaxy S3. The app worked perfectly on the Moto E and will let me change the mode but on the Galaxy it will only let me transfer from this device. I have tons of things on my old phone in which I need that I can not physically transfer
I've used this app for several transfers and it has work seamlessly until now... This app will not transfer data to my new Droid Turbo 2! I can only transfer out, losing my texts and phone log is a major problem! Is there a fix? If so I'll change rating to 5!
I used the migrate app recently while transferring data from my Nexus phone to my new Moto X Play and it worked like a dream...seriously! I am so so sad that the app will no longer work with Marshmallow! Please consider extending to Marshmallow users and beyond, you will get so much goodwill Motorola!
Well, I'm pretty disappointed that this didn't work with my new phone. It's the only reason I bought a new Motorola so I wouldn't have issues transferring my data from my old phone.. so why is this not able to be used for new Android platforms?
I just bought a new Moto X Pure and the main reason is the easy migration feature. The instructions with the phone list this app and now I see I can't use it. What's the story here!!!! Motorola is turning useless after they were sold.
For all of you people rating this app 1 star, saying it doesn't work with Marshmallow, saying your gonna buy an iPhone just because an app doesn't work (Barrrydudes10), then you are all stupid. READ THE DESCRIPTION OF THE APP. IT SAYS IT DOESNT SUPPORT ANDROID MARSHMALLOW. So for all of you people who rated this 1 star saying it doesn't work on Marshmallow. Learn to read...
I wish I could give it zero stars. So Lenovo-Motorola has decided to no longer maintain this app. That's okay. BUT, they still won't let you remove it! Even after the latest OS and app updates, it is still non-removable. Yeah, I see why people root their phones with that kind of attitude from the manufacturers.
Hey Motorola, we want migrate back at any cost. Even we are not excited with Android M without migrate. Do any thing and give it back to us. Legacy can't end in this way....... Pls pls pls. Hey new owner's of Motorola.... It's humble request don't destroy the soul of Motorola. You can add new things but don't kill it....plz
How can you stop supporting the new operating system? This means the only way for me to migrate from my iphone and retain my data is to pay (a fairly steep sum to) a third party developer...OR...just return my motorola phone and pick up a samsung which includes migration software. This is ridiculous.
New droid turbo 2 and long time Motorola user (since Nextel days) here. Went to get info off Turbo1 and not supported... wtf? I loved this thing. Please bring this back and connect chrome extension.
The only thing I dislike about it is you can't remove it when done with it. It came installed, how do I remove it from my phone to free up the memory? Can anyone help me?
I got a new Moto X still on 5.1 that was trying to sync with this app. Errored so I checked for updates and installed 6.0 and removed the app. What was a relatively painless integration is now going to take me hours. Thanks for nothing Motorola. Wiped it with factory reset and still on 6.0. Bang up job.
The app is listed in the brochure that can with this phone, but it's not compatible? I had to replace my phone and if Motorola was true to their word, it would be basically painless to do so.
This app transfered previous messages, texts to new one. And then my video and pics were completely deleted. Where did these go?! No idea how to get these back. Feeling like been stolen.
Really? You released a new model for working with latest Android M release, and do not update your Apps accordingly? Need to migrate from Moto X 2nd gen phone to Moto X Pure... This is most disappointing... You get 2 stars bcz I know it works nicely in previous in older models.
Cracked my shatterproof screen on my Moto X Pure edition but was lucky enough to have purchased the lifetime warranty. However it does me no good when migrate doesn't work with Android 6.0. Very disappointing because I loved this app.
Won't support Motorola M. I thought this was supposed to be easy. Smart phone, but educated idiots @ programmers. By the time you get this fixed (if you do) it will be too late. I'll have spent HOURS getting my new phone tweaked just right.
What they said. This was the dumbest thing Lenovo could have done. One of the best reasons to keep buying Moto is the portability. It was comparable to the iPhone. So to get rid of one of the best selling features of this phone makes zero sense.
Has you can figure out, this app worked super well but no 6.0 support like really... Give the app as is and say you no longer support it but at least let it work or have a new app. This was so good...
then WHY am I able to install it on my new phone from the Play Store ? ___ Other apps that are not compatible for my phones have the mention "Not compatible for your devices" and the Play Store won't let me install them. ___ Motorola must change the listing in the Play Store. ___ The Quality of service from Motorola was so much better before Lenovo... :-( ___ And also, THE NOTIFICATION LED NO LONGER WORKS IN NEW MOTO PHONES !!! ___ Motorola, update your apps. #IwantMotoLED
Not okay. Please fix this. There is no reason the app my phone tells me to download should be "not supported". Please fix this. Phones are already stressful enough without having yours apps you need not work.
Should be 0 stars. Current app i have had on here for ever doesn't even work anymore. "Not supported by andriod" is what it says. Thank-you for being useless after your updates. Useless.
Got a warranty replacement phone (same version as previous with marshmallow 6.0), keeps trying to get me to install and then tells me is incompatible. Not cool. Worked great on older phone (lollipop) to marshmallow phone.
Had a moto G 1st gen and replaced it Whit a G4 plus..... Sad to see then I can't use the app I was planning for to transfer my SMS history to my new 6.01 Android phone. Since I got to keep some SMS, I can't reset my old phone to let play my children on it. Thanks to push a great app to migrate from to moto phone to let down their clients. Since some functionality did disappeared from old to new generation of the same line, I plan to end my moto phone line renewal on my next phone.
A well being smartphone company shouldn't do this activity of shutting down a very important and useful application.. I need this app to continue in marshmallow toooooooo. Please
Moto Migrate not working in Android 6.0 this really bad. I have Moto G 2nd Gen and recently bought moto x play and i was trying to migrate but it fail and says that you can migrate using Android 6.0...
Best app ever for me. I hunted around for a app for a whole day and everyone of them was useless - little did I know that my Motorola had this installed already. Derrrr!
There is no possible acceptable reason for a company of your scale to stop supporting this application, you whoever reads this should feel ashamed. Perhaps I'll get s pixel next because the seamless transition is what kept me with moto.. Very sad, do better moto...
After the app finally appeared it now tells me it's doesn't support Android M...not happy at all. Motorola please help your customers
App is not supported in Android M. My Moto G3 was upgraded last week and now stuck while trying to transfer data to my new Moto X Play. Please do something about it
It just migrate a few things: movies, contacts, photos, but not the apps I lost them, besides my whatsup conversations are gone
It will not install on my Moto G gen1. It says 'installed', but there is nothing there. OHAY THERE IT IS!!!1 I went away for a minute and when I came back it WAS THERE!!

What is the idea of upgrading my Moto phone without having de ability to transfer all its data? Useful for previous phones but what about the new ones? It makes no sense to create such a useful app and not have it available for the newest Android version.
