Motorola Alert

Sometimes delivers incorrect location information from one SMS text to the other. I am following a moto e as I speak. I know exactly where this phone is. But the location supplied in the SMS text is about a half mile away. Also there's no easy ability to shut off the follow me alerts. We've tried but they keep on recurring. I have to actually uninstall the app to get them to stop or at least do a force stop on the app itself.

BLOATWARE ALERT!!!! This is SPYWARE!!!! UNINSTALL IMPOSSIBLE!!! Dear developers: The most important feature of this app is missing. It is rather important to me and lots of other users, so I hope you will include it as soon as possible. It is the UNINSTALL OPTION. I would like you to include it, because I want to get rid of this spying bloatware a.s.a.p. Thank you. 2 weeks of waiting and still no uninstall option. Lazy buggers. 3 months of waiting.........and indeed still no uninstall. Somebody should fire you.

I kept this all from the base Moto apps as it seemed a great idea, but for me it failed at its priority - being reliable. When I have to set a place as home (couldn't even set my exact address for some reason) and walk in front of it in an attempt to trigger the Places alert, and still it doesn't do anything - how much can I trust it in an emergency? I've enabled all Location permissions, it just doesn't seem to even try. I would consider keeping it just for the nice "Emergency" function, but I can't trust it will send any address at all - assuming it doesn't tumble over itself and crash. Please make *reliable* and accurate for it to be a consideration.

Okay, some apps get updates. Cool. ___ Meanwhile... THE NOTIFICATION LED NO LONGER WORKS ON NEW MOTOROLA PHONES.... a simple OTA update would make the LED work as it was working on earlier phones. ___ Now, Motorola says ROOT YOUR PHONE to get the LED functional. If we root, we LOOSE THE WARRANTY !!! ...it is better if we buy from competitors ! ___ #IwantMotoLED

Overall this is a great app but there are a few bugs. The text alerts will randomly stop sending and some times the "cancel" alert button disappears. Minor annoyances compared to the value of the app and peace of mind it can provide to friends or family!

I'm not sure what could be going wrong; this app is certainly designed with the intent to keep your loved ones in the know with your location (for some of you, a bit too in the know). However, my issue seems to be very unique. Before a message is sent to my contacts, the app stops. Whatever mode I put it in remains, but when it is supposed to notify my family, it just crashes. That being said, I am positive that Motorola is doing all that they can right now to solve my problem. Cheers!

I use it when traveling so my wife knows if I've ended up in a ditch or traveling without any problems. It would be awesome (5 stars) if there were longer intervals for "follow me". Every 30 minutes is kind of annoying, 60 minutes would be awesome.

Awful accuracy. I use this on my daughter's phone to know when she's left the house and arrived at school or her grandmother's house and it does not work. Sometimes I'll get 3 messages in a row that she's left home, arrived at home and left again, but it's 3am and her phone is right next to me, charging!

I love the idea and it has worked very well. I was shocked however one evening when it sent out a message that I had left home and I was still sitting on the couch. Not sure what happened there but I've watched it closely since then.

I have my alert set for my office as I arrive in the morning and when I leave because I'm a bike commuter. My wife likes to know that I'm safe. The biggest problem is it triggers when I got down the hall to go to the bathroom in the same building I work. Maybe it needs some settings on time windows or radius of trigger.

randomly and frequently send wrong alerts even when ph is not moving. location is set to high accuracy . data always on. this needs to be fixed. it is irritating

Why I disliked it? App concept & implementation are all fine. But it always uses my 2nd sim to send alerts which costs sms rather than using my 1st sim which provides me free sms. And I don't have an option to select sim for alerts in this app

It tells my contact ive left my home when i haven't leftvmy room( i live on an acre, how can it be so grossly off?!). Needs work. Maybe if i don't enter any "regular places" and just let the tracking feature work?

Doesn't really connect with google maps, and you can't even type correct address sometimes. Almost useless.

Worked great for a few weeks. Now sends false alerts multiple times a day or sends no notifications at all. Not sure if an update caused the issue but needs to be fixed.

Does the job of sending tracking alerts. But isn't accurate at all. I'm in Pune, and my girlfriend gets alerts stating I'm in Orrisa. Talk about a panic attack!

This app can come handy as safety app. Give option to send immediate alert from home screen. With real time location tracking. This will save many people from dangerous situation.

I can't waste all my money on SMS. No one uses it anymore or at least give a choice of sending msgs through WhatsApp also.

Thought of making is good, but many things are yet to implemented yet. Real time navigation, while jn journey it should share location after maintained duration and more features.

Once an alert is set it will not cancel....even when the steps in the help section are followed.

Great App, Great Idea! Needs a bit of work though... WiFi dropping in/out impacts location alerts. Mine sends multi alerts even when not arriving or leaving a dedicated location

It's a good idea, had it all setup correctly, it knows where you are etc, but it doesn't "remember" my location status.? Like it'll Alert my partner that I just left Home, but I'm still here at Home.? That's a "false positive", & it's annoying as hell .. It will notify me & my partner these "false positives" even during the night while not touching the phone while we're asleep.? It seriously needs a script to understand & remember we haven't left a location!! Uninstalled. :((

I WOULD RECOMMEND A QUICK EMERGENCY BUTTON ON THE LOCK SCREEN OF PHONES SO ITS QUICKER TO ALERT SOMEONE FOR HELP!

I like the functions provided, very neat ideas in theory. I have a moto g gen 3. The location feature needs a bit of adjustment as it gives a lot of false positives. This is possibly due to variable GPS signal or changes in altitude, I note the blue dot can wander around on the map when phone/app starts up. Also, on different days my home/work address will be quite variable.

Its a good idea and useful when I'm on the trails alone but its useless. The locations it gives are inaccurate, it gives the nearest street rather than coordinates. This isnt helpful to me because i would use this when im at the park. Which is a shame because I really want to use this app. Fix location accuracy and it would work as described.

Kept saying that I'd just left a location, even though I had actually just arrived.... And why can't I adjust the perimeter of locations I add? :/

I used the location alerts for a week to send text messages on arrival/departure. The battery was drained to 50% before lunch. This is a great idea, but if the design can't operate efficiently, it's just not useful. Also, the app would sometimes skip sending a message on leaving or arriving at a location. It seems like the location capabilities need a bit of work yet.

This App is good but has few bugs in it... 1. Never sends Alert message immediately when I leave a place. 2. Sends a 'I Left Home' message, even if I have arrived at home (Or any saved place). 3. Sends Alert messages very late, like almost half n hr late. 4. Recently came to know that it doesn't send Alert messages to the saved contacts, if the receiver is out of town (Roaming Network). Please consider these issues and make this App a flawless one, as this app is well thought and can save people when they are in trouble.

This app was really well designed for the previous generation of phones; but in what seems to be a Sign of Things to Come, post-Google, Motorola has abandoned a lot of legacy support for their apps and wearable stuff for future hardware. This app will not install on 5.0+ devices such as the 2nd gen Moto X. Moto Alert doesn't work, Moto Skip doesn't work -- they've just moved forward without consideration that people actually used their products. Motorola went from being the best OEM (Google-owned) to now being one of questionable integrity (under Lenovo). I love their industrial design and software philosophies (inherited from Google), but if they don't get back on track with fast updates and communication, I'll be switching away from them again.

Multiple location alerts are annoying to the recipients... Not sure if this is by design or a flaw. I'll wait for the next release when this is fixed.

My grandmother and I use this app so that we know where each other are when we are away from home. The app use to work well until it update recently. Now the app can be 30mins off of when one of us leaves or arrives somewhere or it just won't say anything.

Installed the game was confused initially what to do then I started to tutorial was able to understand slowly with the tutorial and it swept me into the game and I lost track of time and I just kept playing game and invited my friends for the multiplayer had a great time with my friends its an awesome experience will continue to play for a longer time for sure with my friends. Its a great game Its recommended to all please play it download it enjoy it.....

I can be sitting at home and it will report I left home 2 or 3 times then say I'm home. Getting so annoying that I have turned off reporting. Too bad as my wife likes to know that I arrived at work and home since I work so much.

"Answer" or "ignore", no matter what accent I tried. My wife was just rolling laughing watching my struggles. Give it 2 stars for saving my sleep, however.
