This simple feature is handy to have! I love it and wouldn't want to go back to not having it! A couple things I'd like to see since third party apps have them are notification duration and color settings, a gesture to clear one notification at a time (like swipe one way to clear them all and swipe the other way to clear only the current notification), and also the ability to cycle until you see the one you want to open. Also since update, it seems android os is gobbling my battery life. Any connection?

I love the active display. Just 1 minor tweak and it will be perfect. when you swipe left or right, it dismisses all of the notifications. may be the developers can put in a little feature where swiping left will dismiss all the notifications and swiping right makes them disappear 1 by 1. Oh, and also It will be great to have this on my 2nd phone as well, Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

It responds accurately , looks good and supports almost for all apps . Pros: 1. Battery friendly notifications 2. Looks good on black unlit background. 3. Displays only necessary content. 4. It's so addictive that ,after a few month use u barely use the power button to unlock your phone ! Cons: 1. If you have multiple notifications there's no way to review the previous ones without unlocking the phone !! 2. The blink frequency when there's no notification is a bit low,it could be user controlled!

It used to work fine. Now if I get a message on what app it displays the content on the pin locked screen..Privacy is turned on. I tried reinstalling updates still no go.. Hope you guys will fix it cos active display is one of the feature that prompted me to buy the phone..

After update to 1.2.12 it's start working without touches to device. It's very nice user experience. But a few days after, I had to reset phone settings. And the app (updated to 1.2.12) stopped react on my hand without touches device. You should fix it or add any button to reset/add this functionality. Thank you for good app for my device! Good luck.

I love Active Display. It has become an integral part of my daily phone use and I love it more every day. Now, I am noticing a little bug. When I get a text message, it flashes on and off randomly and notifies me of one message over and over again. When I'm on the home screen, it doesn't do this. Otherwise this app is very cool and super useful.

Thus really changes how you use your phone. No need to constantly hit the power button to check the time. But there is other information I'd like on first glance. Why not throw the date and battery level on there too. It already puts the battery level when it's almost dead.

I can able to see, delete the notifications.. But the problem is when having multiple notifications, there is no choice to select the desired notification. Also if we clear one notification, all other notifications are also cleared.. But either way, they exist in notification tray.. I hope these features will be added soon.. I am already enjoying the best support from Motorola with its quick updates and innovative concepts..

So nice to be able to dismiss notifications and only get certain apps on the active display screen. It really is a brilliant feature. One negative that I've noticed is that the every time that the text messaging app I use gets updated, it gets removed from the active display apps list.. Pretty annoying to have to reselect the app after every update and that's the only reason it isn't getting five stars.

I honestly love all the things this app can do. My only problem is what I unlock my phone when sliding down my user info doesn't appear but it does when I use the sleep/wake button. Motorola please fix that bug in the next update.

It would be great if default Android notification gets cleared the moment I clear the Active Display notifications by swiping to sides. I don't want to see the notification again once I goes through Active Display notification, please add option for it. Please let me know if it isn't technically possible

Be a perfect replicate of the normal lock screen but black and white and minimalistic. No lock screen widgets but notifications instead. And phone will progressively become colorful while unlocking. This is retarded to have two steps unlock sorry. But awesome to have smart display thanks!

Z70%
by Z####:

Every now and then, even though I have it marked to tell me of Facebook notifications, this app will all of a sudden decide on its own to NOT tell me about my Facebook notifications. That aside, its pretty cool though some of the "breaths" is more of hyperventilation than breathing for how quickly they fade in and out.

Z70%
by Z####:

Great. Although I think Active Display should hook into android's notification listener service and dismiss the notifications if swiped to the left or right. If the person is swiping the notification away, they already know about it and are choosing not to respond. It should be cleared from A.D. and the status bar.

Z70%
by Z####:

Completely simple and effective! 03/31/14 The last update sometimes when I drag my finger to unlock, the lock icon keeps on and the phone doesn't go to Android pattern unlock, so I need to push the power button once to go to Android pattern unlock screen.

Love the app really. But I've found that when the display is showing, which happens every time I pick it up, I can't adjust my volume. Since I often pick it up to do just that, and have to wait for the display to sleep before I can, it's annoying. Very annoying really. Just keep dropping the rating until it's fixed. Please fix this!!!

Lost my active display in Feb with update. I went back to stock until it automatically updated to 1.2.12 and again it broke the feature. I do not see any notifications with the updates. Please help..

My active display seems to be broken. It shows notifications all fine, but in clock time, sometimes, number displays are in complete. for eg if time is 02:08, then in number 8, top pixels will blink but last half will not. A bit disappointed with this. :(

After few days of uses i observed that active notification doesn't work as expected also along with this twist and turn camera for opening doesn't work. After restarting the phone it started working. this i observed 2-3 days and thought of reporting to you. Please correct this as soon as possible.

It use to work good till the last update. Now it won't show me incoming calls, I have to unlock my phone then answer and half the time the unluck screen has lag to it. Please fix!

It would be great to have a setting so a notification alert will only sound once instead of every time you receive an email or other notification when it hasn't been cleared from the status bar. It's just annoying when the phone is sitting there and it receives multiple emails and the sound goes off for each one.

My active display will mess up randomly to where the clock will be missing numbers or the padlock will split to two sides of the screen. Sometimes the padlock won't even display. Update on 03/17/2014 The issue still remains with the update. The clock still misses numbers periodically. It happens daily. I had to restart my phone for the active display to even work after updating it. The padlock will split to two sides normally when a message comes in.

Z70%
by Z####:

I really enjoy the app most of the time. My only problem is that it un-selects apps when I update them. It'd be nice if they would stay active when they're updating without having to auto select every downloaded app.

Listen, I appreciate simplicity, but this app is too simple for your average user. The most annoying aspect of this app, is that it turns on (displays) even when you don't have a notification...so guess what I find myself doing when ever my phone moves around (accelerates) and it lights up, looking at it to find out I have to notifications. EXTREMELY ANNOYING MOTOROLA. Let this app notify us ONLY when we have a notifications!

When my phone is sitting on its back, face up, the display shows up often. With me doing nothing to trigger it, so it seems. I think it should have a sensitivity setting. Unless it already does. Then I'll feel silly and give it 5 stars

When notifications come, and I place my finger in the middle of the screen, just as I am supposed to, it doesn't work. I mean, nothing happens. But only the first time, because then it appears again and eveything's ok, it works as usual. I believe there's nothing wrong with the touchscreen... I hope you guys can solve my problem, thank you! - Forgot to mention that it doesn't happen when there are no notifications.

Most of the time it works but ever since I updated to 4.4.2 it just turns on the display not active display. Then I turn it off then it goes to active display. I want this to be fixed..

M70%

When I receive texts, active display alerts me.. But if I view the text by sliding down there's an issue... It won't let me type to reply after using active display. Either I have to unlock the proper way, or back out of the text and reopen it to get the keyboard working again. Using stock Google keyboard. Edit: Re: Motorola response. The behavior is not operating as expected. It opens the SMS but the keyboard periodically won't type after that until you close the app and reopen. Does not happen if you unlock this normal way.

Very convenient to have on a phone and one of my favorite features on my Moto X. Well done!

If you run a lockscreen this is a huge hassle, since it wants to live fully separately (it's it's own chip) which means unlocking your phone every time you want to follow a notification. Also it says it's pocket friendly and battery conscientious, but in my tests it causes thousands of wakes, even while in a pocket. Even sitting on my desk, face up, there were about 1-2 per minute. Also text messages didn't get notifications every time. I thought that covering the proximity sensor should have fixed the wakes but I can keep it covered and shake the phone and it wakes up to show me the time. Not customizable much (like: only wake for notification, use proximity sensor, etc). I'm not impressed much even though it should be a great feature. Just figured out that the proximity sensor must be covered for about 5 seconds for it to work, meaning if you put your phone on standby (power button) then put it in your pocket, it can be activated by your thigh/butt for 5 seconds. silly problem.

by M####:

This is a really great feature. It helps prevent over use of the power button. Most of the time it works very well, however sometimes the clock gets glitchy. It will illuminate the wrong pixels or none at all. If that is fixed it'd be perfect. Edit: Switched phones and it now works perfectly.

I absolutely love this app and the functionality that it brings to my Moto X. That being said, recently it has continued to flash notifications to me after I have swiped them away to dismiss. It also doesn't always display immediately when I take my phone out of my pocket, which kind of defeats the purpose of quickly checking my phone. I don't know what started these issues, but I hope they get fixed soon. Until they get fixed, I can't give full 5 stars... EDIT: rebooting my phone seems to have solved the problem, so 5 stars!

M70%
by M####:

The only problem I faced was when I downloaded an app Teen Patti and active display stopped responding, after which I had to uninstall the app and perform a reboot and it again started to respond. I finally concluded that post loaded apps affect active display as well as the flick of wrist camera startup.

Active Display behaves weird and doesn't work normally. The notifications cracks

There seems to be an issue between Active Display and Assist when in a moving car. Option to unlock does not always appear when phone is picked up and must use power button.

Great app; I just wish it would respect the vibration settings of the apps it notifies about. Please give us a vibrate option or just use the setting of each app. Would also be great to have the ability to turn on the green LED light under the earpiece as a notification.

Every now and then the active notifications wouldn't show even when I have a notification. I have faced this with SMS, Skype calls and even phone calls. I'm not sure if it starts after I put the phone to charging. If I go to Active Display settings and simply visit the app selection it starts working. Please note that I haven't installed any app like battery saver that might prevent this. I'm pretty much running the I out-of-box version.
