Global future introduction

When reviewing the news about the changing climate, population growth, pollution, and living conditions, you watch projections based on assumptions about the extension of historic structure and trends into the future. The conditions discussed interact in a complex pattern which can easily be ignored.

Global future introduction is a tool for simulating global development as expressed by a few major factors. Its purpose is not to generate precise predictions, but to introduce the complexity of the subject and give you an opportunity to experiment with some of your own assumptions.

The underlying model implies a basic structure you can read more about in a separate Model section within the app. There is also another section named Experiments in which a few examples of pre-designed runs of the model are discussed to help you start your own explorations.

If you are really impatient and want to start exploring the model at once, you can click the Run option which will present the future based on the default assumptions. You can continue to change starting values and policy allocation assumptions.

The computations generate 21 time series for a 100 years time horizon. Selected time series can be displayed either as graphs or tables for specified windows.
