visCards-Picture cards / timer

visCards is an app for the production of picture cards and visual schedules for aid communication.

Primarily aimed at people on the autistic spectrum (I have an son with ASD). However a few of my friends use this app to create their picture / flash cards for their children as a word learning aid (and even just to label items around the house).

I wrote this app for my own use and a number of people suggested I extend it and make it publicly available which I have now done. So what does it do?

- The application includes a graphical activity timer to give a visual timer of an activity duration and time remaining.

- The ability to create and print picture cards (in a variety of sizes) - I find this very useful for schedules around the house. I often print to magnetic paper or laminate cards to create schedules. If you can't print from your Android device the app allows the images to be emailed as a PDF worksheet and then printed using Adobe from any PC/Mac.

- The ability to create schedules on the device when you're out and about, or to print these out and use them at home.

Images can be sourced from a central library, added using the device camera, or my accessing images on the device already. When creating a picture card the image can be cropped to size as required.

Always open to new suggestions to improve the application, as what works for me might not be perfect for everyone else.

Initially a charge was made to cover costs for the infrastructure of this app - web site library. Now these costs are met (and a huge thank you to those people how paid for the app) the app is free. I hope is will be useful to those who use it.

Note: Permissions;

FULL NETWORK ACCESS - This application allows the download of images for picture cards from a central library at www.moonmirage.com. The web site has a preview of this library. Images can be added centrally if you wish and downloaded to your devices.

STORAGE - Sheets of picture cards can be generated on the device as PDF's. These can be stored locally or printed/emailed as required. Integrates with Google Cloud print to allow easy printing from your Android device.
