Since the latest update this app one of my favourite features - the ability to trace my route via GPS has ceased working when I turn my screen off.

I70%
by I####:

Liked the free app straight away so paid for the pro version. I am very impressed as I used the app whilst walking in the Derbyshire Dales. It accurately pinpointed me on the correct footpaths on the app screen. A really, really useful tool. I am old school and like using a paper OS map but the app is easy to use and was a brilliant companion. I have read other reviews about poor pixilated maps but I found them to be very clear. Thank you James for your help in sorting out my query.

T70%
by T####:

Used to be a brilliant app, but the latest update has completely ruined it. The map resolution is lousy; looks like some poorly scanned image has been used, you can't even read some of the text on the map, in addition the app keeps freezing only way to exit is to use task nanager to kill it

T70%
by T####:

Don't buy map Tiles to enable you to use this App off line as they don't download correctly. The result is that you can't use the app off line with locally stored tiles, you get no helpful response or support and you lose your money!

T70%
by T####:

This was my favourite app until a few weeks ago. It now takes longer to load, you cannot multitask with other apps as you have to exit first, the mapping is now fuzzy and it has more blank squares in the maps. Oh, and there are more icons on the screen to get in the way of viewing what you need - the map. Please can I have the old version back, it was almost perfect!

T70%
by T####:

Significantly worse since the Unity version came out. The image quality is much poorer now. Turning off the 'filter' option does NOT fix this - it's simply a lower resolution now. No amount of filtering or sharpening will improve that!!

T70%
by T####:

After upgrading my phone recently, the drop in map resolution has been staggering. I'd like to know why this has happened.

T70%
by T####:

This app used to be brilliant. Now it's fuzzy, slow and, well just plain crap. Any chance of my money back

C70%
by C####:

Since it went to "Powered by Unity" this is considerably slower than it used to be. Sometimes there are squares of maps missing on the screen. This morning it just displays the Unity logo and then hangs; a reboot may fix it - but I shouldn't need to do that.

Z70%
by Z####:

Im afraid this is rather poor now, graphics for icons bad, this on a tab3, on my old tab2 its fine but i havent updated that app for awhile on the old tab2. Its down from 5 stars to 2 Dev never answers which is poor being in IT I know the importance of keeping customer base, come on...paying customers here. Update: Can the dev port this over to Windows Phone? Another update...bloke does not answer emails...dreadful customer support. Dev, since this is unworkable now i wish to get a refund for paying for this

What have you done? Update won't load!!! DOH Even on WiFi... Used to work brilliantly but now as a refernce aid it's TOTALLY USELESS!

T70%
by T####:

I dent like the poor resolution on the new version, but it worked really well today, for the first time. I've been using the old version for years, and couldn't get it untreated my position by exiting front and location services con then reloading. Now it works!

T70%
by T####:

Would like a feature to lock the map scale used or pause downloading data as many times I want to zoom further on the closest OS scale without changing to A-Z style of mapping that loses footpath information.

E70%
by E####:

You need wifi or high speed Internet but if you zoom out you have a road map and you can zoom right in past ordinance survey. Very handy.

W70%
by W####:

Bought and downloaded map tiles so that they are available offline. Available to me on all my devices. Very useful

T70%

very good got every thing...well done.Binatone tablet

Excellent app for detailed maps, perfect for walking

C70%
by C####:

App worked well, but as of late 2013 no longer works at all. Need fixing or removing from Google Play asap. Developer does not respond to communication. Edit: Now working again with Nexus 4, but inexplicably incompatible with Nexus 7. Edit: As of May '16, seems to work consistently well.

D70%
by D####:

Despite updates and added filtering, resolution of map tiles appears to still be worse than the older version of this app, especially for 1:25000 maps. Also cache still clears upon closing. Not helpful when hiking with no signal. Saving maps for offline added with purchases but phone cache still clears.

T70%
by T####:

Was fine before update. Now it's pixilated.

T70%
by T####:

After a few glitches of the new version 2016.the developer has reacted with regular updates and accepted the feedback. Commendable in a short time frame.

P70%
by P####:

Why has this gone all blurry and out of focus? 1:25, 000 map is poor. Preferred it before the update

A70%
by A####:

Like the new control to change size of User Interface icons. Rendering of maps improving too - less pixelated?

C70%
by C####:

Was responsive and accurate. Now it's slow and inaccurate. I've been in Suffolk for the weekend. It pinned me miles from where I knew I was. Reload I thought. Then it put me half a mile off the other way. It is now unreliable, potentially dangerous. Bring back the old version till you fix this one.

F70%
by F####:

Worked reasonably until I updated just now. Used to be fine. Wish I'd read all the recent reviews. Trace route doesn't work any more. Bummer. (edit: thx for fixing trace route)

Q70%
by Q####:

Will not update on two separate devices, locked both up and had to reboot, uninstalled . It seems I've wasted my money! Thanks for quick response from developers, have reinstalled now working just very slow on WiFi and impossible on phone network, but will keep trying.

T70%
by T####:

A few updates on and I'm still so disappointed that it changed (whatever the reasons). Maps are nowhere near as sharp as they used to be. I don't use it anymore. Sad.

T70%
by T####:

Fuzzy maps are no use. App also much less responsive. I also don't like the colour scheme of the new icons, too obtrusive on maps.

T70%
by T####:

Still terrible. Resolution in v1.27 is still far superior to the current version. New maps are still low resolution and pixelated when zoomed in

T70%
by T####:

Greatly improved since the upgrade but the appearance of the buttons & icons still look really cheap & low grade on my tablet. I hope that this will be improved eventually, but I've kept the old version, which I much prefer, on my phone.

W70%
by W####:

A great app but since the new version I find I have to keep the app on throughout a hike. If I use a camera function on my phone or another app uk atlas restarts and more often than not you lose the map data from where you are (especially when in a remote area) I then have to stop being lazy and get the os map and compass out. Rarely happened before the update. However I really like being able to create and save paths for future walks

T70%
by T####:

Most painfull faulty updating of an app. ever encountered. Excellent when it works. NOW OK on 1.54

B70%
by B####:

This has two killer features: you can download a1:25,000 scale map for anywhere in the UK, and you can pinpoint where you are on the map. Yes it can be a bit clunky, and I strongly recommend you install GPS status app alongside it, but the ability to locate yourself precisely on a large scale OS map wherever you are has proven invaluable for me since I first started using it in 2011. It works fine on every phone and tablet I've tried it on, and the dev keeps updating it as needed. I strongly recommend this app for anyone undertaking outdoor pursuits anywhere in the UK.

L70%
by L####:

Despite upgrades this app is still worse than older version really patchy tile loading and move the map and pin slides about on the map. sadly i will be uninstalling soon

T70%
by T####:

Quite simply doesn't load tiles after "upgrade"...best avoided

X70%
by X####:

Good maps, latest version fast and reliable. Can't beat it for UK OS maps.

I70%
by I####:

I need this app for work. If they could just get the resolution better it would be great

F70%
by F####:

Update failed to install, had to uninstall, will not reinstall. Cleaned phone using SD Maid, rebooted, and still not installing. Motorola Stock Android Lollipop

W70%
by W####:

Latest update has fixed various issues (including reinstating the navigation arrows). However, the map tiles (including 1:25,000) *are* of lower resolution, despite the dev's claims to the contrary. I've verified this with screenshots I took from the old app compared to identical map views and zooms in the new app. All the filtering option does is to anti-alias the lower-res map tiles. Most disappointing.

T70%
by T####:

Slightly better after the latest update. The filtering option has improved the pixel resolution a bit. Also back button now closes the app. Still not as good as the old version suppose it still needs work. But at least it's usable again many thanks to the developer.
