About iScript Hebrew

**** NOW INCLUDING SOUND AND BOTH BLOCK / CURSIVE SCRIPT ****

This Android app was written for anyone approaching Hebrew and its script. It provides a good guide for learners and an invaluable reference, with detailed information on all the letters of the Alef-Bet in both block and cursive type, as well as accurate animated images of how each letter should be drawn. Sound is also available for every letter and vowel sound in Hebrew.

There is a speed setting for the animations, so you can decide whether you want the drawing to play slowly (so you can follow while writing the letter), or faster if you're just revising. The setting is available by pressing the menu key when looking at a letter or niqqud page.

The app is based on modern Hebrew as spoken in Israel, and it also offers notes on drawing and current usage. For the sake of completeness it features a list of the vowel diacritics: though not in current use, they can be of help for academic or religious studies.

Finally, just tap on any letter image (whether block or cursive) to watch the letter as it is being drawn...

This does what I was looking for. It shows how to form the letters. It describes how to pronounce them, and now it has sound so you can hear how it is spoken. It is compact and does the job. Worth paying for.
