Dosecast - Medication Reminder for Android
Highly recommended, even if you take only one medication/vitamin a day. Worth paying for the upgrade to Premium version to get all the customize options - especially for those who need a visual of individual medications. Updates often & customer support is quick & help until the problem is resolved. All skill levels.
I take a lot of medications / vitamins. This makes it so easy to know what to take when. And so many things are customizable. I used and relied on it so much, I decided to buy the professional version. I do run into an issue with daylight saving time. It kinda blows away the reminders or puts them off by hours. I have to reset them all.
Loved the simplicity of this app. It suddenly stopped giving reminders, until ultimately I missed a pill 3 days in a row. Too dangerous to take chances with medications, uninstalled. Go for something more reliable.
Has stopped alerting me to my medication times, some days it works as should, other days it fails to alert me at all. A shame really as this use to be a great app.
Helped me very much for pain relief control after shoulder surgery. Very easy to use
Good app, but it's very slow and sometimes barely runs. Not optimized well at all
This is great! It reminds you like a nagging spouse, always on time!
Bugs seem to be fixed. Thanks!
This is a great app for anyone who has to take meds on a regular basis.
Great app, like the cross platform syncing.
Paid iPhone app is far superior to the Android app.
Very helpful
Notifications are buggy. Currently, the alarm won't shut off and is stuck in an infinite loop. Hope it's fixed asap, because i need a solidly dependable app for medication. EDIT: after latest upgrade, notifications stopped until I click on app. Please fix! NEW, 4/2017: Moved from 2 stars to 3, because of the customer service in troubleshooting bugs.
Hooray!!!! You fixed the problem. Everything is working now. Please test your updates better in the future. HELP! Update installed last night. Now app won't run on my phone. Please fix this ASAP. I really need this! Previous review: Love this app! It gives me everything I need to manage my meds and ensure that I don't mess up with timing. More importantly, it helps me keep track of maximum daily limits. This is the most significant app on my phone. 11/12/15: updated to cloud based applications and have sync between devices. Love it?
Screws up with daylight savings... had meds set for 9am & 9pm. Last year for fall back it changed to 4am & 4pm. Thought it was a fluke, but it was annoying since my baby sleeps in my room. I really liked the app, so I changed the times on all of my meds, and continued using it. But hey, come spring forward, it did it AGAIN. Now I get to change times on ALL of my meds, again. I'll be canceling my subscription & finding a new app. Screw that.
It's not letting the reminder go away again but this time it's setting it to an hour later when I try to check it off. This is a frustrating app but I'm trying my hardest not to give up on it because I still like it despite the flaws that keep popping up. I hope you can fix this.
I love the app. But I'm getting tired of having to change my dosing times every six months at daylight savings. There's some weird bug in it that changes the saved times. For example my 7:15 am dosages now say 1:15 pm. I take several medications every day, and is really a pain to have to go in and change the time on each one.
This is probably the first app that I've not been able to fault. With taking upwards of 22 tablets a day, and having memory problems with my condition, this app has literally been a life saver. There have been numerous times when I could have potentially, accidentally, overdosed on strong pain meds, but thanks to this app I've been able to see when I took my last dose. I have recommended this to friends and they haven't been disappointed. Well worth paying to upgrade. Thanks Dosecast!
It's ok but sometimes buggy. The good is that it's comprehensive and keeps reminding you until you take your meds. The bad os that events such as daylight savings cause the app to go wonky and the schedules are off by 5 hours and require manual readjustment to correct scheduled medication times. Should be a simple fix but it's been happening for years. It's like the developer decided to set it and forget it.
I'd give this 5 stars for managing all my meds and syncing it through my various devices if it didn't take up to a minute to open every time I use it. The delay is apparently for it to sync to it's server but this is way too slow. It's so slow that I've even gotten warnings that the app isn't responding do I want to close it on multiple different Android devices connected to different ISPs so it's not my device nor server which is the issue.
Love this program until it messes up. When it messes up if you only rely on it then it is dangerous. Taking medications on time without taking to much is important. Twice a year with my paid version I have had problems during daylight savings time chg. Also this could incorporate reminders for my diabetes checks. Just seeing things that make it worthwhile. The paid version is a bit pricey per year. IE 27.99 for renewal may make me non renew. Have to note we all do have our opinions. That is mine. Raised my rating one star because it updated really quickly when there was an issue and was fixed.
It's very helpful, but does not work properly on Android 7.0. even when I disable "doze" it still does not wake up for reminders. Which almost makes it useless. Android 6 and below, very useful.
Its back! And so is my history! Yay! Its been fine except for the dud update where all my drugs and history vanished and it crashed approximately every 10 seconds. But now it's good again! And its excellent for tracking and managing complicated medication regimes, or just reminding you to just TAKE that single recurring pill.
After the most recent update, not even working anymore. :( I loved this app in the past so I'm sad to have to uninstall it! Update 5.9 fixed my issue! Back to loving this app!!
I downloaded this in order to sync across two devices. I see that there's a charge for this, but I can't find the amount. Today (11/06/16) All of the dosage times got screwed up, possibly due to the change. Today (03/12/17) all of the dosages got screwed up AGAIN, also likely due to Daylight Saving Time. Trying to justify keeping this, since Google Calendar can also send me reminders.
I like this app and use it daily to track my meds and those of my pets. It is generally reliable and I've come to depend on it. One thing about it I've always hated though is that it shows you such nice medication images in the screenshots in the Play Store, but does not include those images. It expects you to take your own, or choose a photo from your device. Very deceptive and annoying. Not even the "pro" upgrade includes images! The other thing I hate about this app is that it absolutely CANNOT handle the time change to/from Daylight Savings Time correctly. Every time it changes all your times in the app will have to be manually reset. It is annoying to no end to be woken up at 0443 to take meds you've already taken six hours ago. And it changes them oddly. Meds I take once a day got bumped +5 hours, while meds I take 3x / day got set -3 hours. There's no rhyme or reason to it.
Once again, our dosing schedule changed in a very unexpected way. Our dog just got her monthly heart worm pill 15 days earlier than scheduled. Our daily dose changed from 7 am to 1 pm. Now, we are worried about our mother's medication schedule. I read through some reports here related to the issue and very concern with the developers response "For many user, time zone change is handled fine". Sounds like a brush off to me. This issue has been going on for some time and by the sound of it, it's not going to be fixed because "for many user.... it is fine..." Good to know about the attitude the developer has related to this issue. We will be transitioning to another app.
Re-installed this app on a new phone (Android 7 Nougat) via Google upgrade using old phones apps/data. Program kept stopping when I tried to input an image for the drug via Gallery. Had to manually allow storage permission for this app to solve this problem.
The Cloud sync saved me after the penultimate update. Everything was lost after the update but a new one was developed shortly after the crashes and voila, my drugs re appeared, nothing was lost. Thank you, Montuno Software!
I would have been in trouble with out Dosecast. It is a life saver.
This morning (11/01/2015) I noticed that all the dose administration times were changed by 4 hours. This occurred the same day that the clock on my phone was automatically set back one hour due to the end of Daylight Saving Time. As a result my drug history now shows late doses as well as skipped doses (resulting from editing the scheduled times back to the correct times). // 11/06/2016 UPDATE: Same 4 hour shift this year too. Thought they would get it fixed by now. Ver 5.5 pro $28 per year. // 03/12/2017 UPDATE: Ver 5.9 Same problem with time change. Will NOT renew paid subscription this fall. Reduced rating from four to two stars.
I've written Dosecast multiple times over the last 3 years about a bug where my dosing times change each time the time changes (fall & spring) but they don't seem to care enough to fix it. They're not just off one hour. They're off 5 hours & I have to reset all my meds each spring & fall.
Seen some changes since started use. Usually never a problem (except for latest update) and when I did encounter problem, then immediately resolved it. Couldn't ask for more!
I set this up to take pills every 12 hours. For some reason, it started reminding me at odd times, not consistently any number of hours after a dose taken.
This app does not do well with time change. Constantly chiming off all hours of the day and night. Removing this app for my sanity!!! And NO it doesn't usually change properly for some user as the developer has stated...
Edit: Thank you for swift response, it worked :D Original: Usually, when the take doses is on an infinite loop, I uninstall/reinstall and voilà, but not today, at midnight wtf?
Really helpful. I have to take several med several times a day and this app has really taken a lad off me trying to remember when to take my meds.
I can never remember to take my meds. But this app tells me when to take my meds and what meds to take.
Was always a five star for years except for a Android update that messed w/the app but all is good again after a app update Thank You!

WHY can't I move this app to my SD card anymore?! Thank you! Your work has helped with my compliance - I feel much better AND my Dr is happier with me too (nice bonus). I've recently upgraded and will be adding all my supplements as well... I look forward to showing my Dr the proof! BTW - is it possible for Dosecast to sync between my phone & tablet? (If so, how). If not... can this be considers for the next upgrade, pls & thx. :-D
