About Montgomery Landmarks
The City of Montgomery, Ohio, was founded in 1795 by settlers from Montgomery, New York. The City has retained a number of interesting historical buildings, designating 32 of them as local landmarks. This app provides audio presentations, text, and pictures of each of these unique properties, most of which can be observed by walking around the downtown historic district. Surprisingly well maintained, these landmarks range from early wood structures built in 1808, to brick Greek Revival and late Victorian era homes. Audio provided by landmark owners, local preservationists, and city officials. This is an excellent app for those interested in Montgomery, history, architecture, and preservation.
