You can synchronize manually if Auto-sync is off to preserve battery power.
You press "Sync" button, it will turn on the Auto-sync and wait for a specified number of seconds and back to Off.

Doesn't provide one-touch functionality. Should come with another app which executes when tapped, NOT a widget.

Sadly, neither the widget nor the app itself worked for me :( . I still give it three stars, though, because it's one of the few nice, plain, simple apps left. No bells, no whistles, just (broken, for me) functionality.
