Checkbook Pro

The User Interface is intuitive and consistent with most bank statements. I like holding my phone in Portrait orientation for entering data and in Landscape orientation for viewing/reconciling data. The app responds appropriately to orientation change. Negatives: I cannot get Recurring Items to work. I do not see a way to do automatic backups only when the data has changed. Desired enhancements: The app would be much more useful to me if it allowed synchronization across multiple devices, including PCs.

Gi love this app..this keeps track of all my accts and replaces all my checkbooks...im a cash free person.I use only debit most of the time.now I don't have stuff all my receipts in my wallet then balance my check book at home. However need a change. Need to be able to filter uncleared transactions from all accts at once. Not just one at a time

I couldn't function without it now, I would like to have the clear function on the ledger instead of having to open each line item. And recurring transactions repeat as cleared and I have to individually go in to each line item and uncheck the cleared box, then open each line again to clear. Sometimes the recurring line items don't carry over. Still worth it for the app, but those changes would be great!! Update - Wonderful, thanks for the info on the long presto clear!!!!

The Checkbook Pro app is awesome! I travel a lot for work, so I'm frequently paying bills from hotel rooms. With this app, I know exactly what's been paid and what's available in each account. On the rare occasion I write a paper check or use the ATM, I can log it right then and there, no more forgetting to do it when I get home! Only 2 things would make this app better... 1. Ability to sync across multiple devices 2. Backup/Restore to include favorites and repeating transactions settings.

This is the 3rd & final check register that I have used & this one won me over. I started out with the trial version & brought the Pro version.... I love it!!!! I can see where the majority of my money is spent & what I need 2 cut back on. It keeps me organized & ahead when checking my bank acct online. Thank you guys ( Molovi Software) for making this a wonderful app!!!!

I've been using this app for 3 years now and it has made a HUGE difference in our finances. I make separate "accnts" for each bill we have and as paychecks come in I transfer needed funds to them so I can organize all of our money to where it needs to go, with out seperating it in my bank accnt. iPhones can't get this app and for that reason, I've never owned an iPhone. We haven't over drafted once since having it! It still takes discipline and I balance my checkbook regularly. But WORTH IT. Get it!

I really wish it synced with my checking account so that I wouldn't have to enter all of those debit card transactions! Entering credit card accounts, doesn't quite work the way I thought it would. The reports are on your android only, you can't not forward the reports to an email address which would be nice to send to my spouse to keep him informed. It's an ok app, I just wish it wasn't so manual intensive.

I have really liked this app, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to keep track of their checkbook. I love how it is just like a check register and I really love the balance information. The only thing that is missing from this app is the abilty to sort by amounts! Very important if you are looking for something! If it could sort by amounts I would defiantly give 5 stars.

This is a good app, and in sure it works well for many people. I needed this for business though, and found it lacking. Unfortunately it doesn't have a way to add your own categories (that I am aware of) so I have "business materials" under taxes. I also would like an easy way to sync this to multiple devices rather than uploading and redownloading. This is a great app for personal, but lacks big time for business.

It is simple and easy to use. Is there any way to make it able to flip the screen to vertical view? This app is the only thing that forces me to use the horizontal. That, and I'd like to be able to add categories. If all of that is available to me, then I apologize and will continue to explore ;-)

I agree with a previous commenter. This app is a perfect in between of all the other apps out there. The others are either too complicated or too basic. This one allows me to do exactly what I need to do, to track money in my accounts without over complicating it. And I like that it can back up to the cloud, which makes it easy to import to my computer if I want to put it on a spreadsheet or something.

I prefer Checkbook(Digital Life Solutions) because the number of buttons I have to push using it "feel" to be about 30% less. Checkbook Pro(Molovi Software) does look very pleasing, but I value functionality over aesthetics. Molovi Software's more than 135 updates since January '13 have left me using another app last updated on 1/18/13. Also of note, Molovi Software most-always has to have the last word, which is non-normative behavior.

I love this app. The only two things I would change is I can't figure out how to transfer money between accounts or if I have to do it manually? Also categories would be awesome. Than I could see what I've spent in one category. Keep up the good work! Never mind about the catagories. Just could them!

This is a great app for basically managing your accounts, keeping a ledger, etc. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but it does the basics very well. It backs up to Dropbox on schedule, never has made any errors, and makes it easy for me to track all my transactions. I do wish it didn't automatically log transfers between accounts as cleared, as I am often transferring between financial institutions and it takes a few days for them to clear. I also wish it was easier to reorder numerous accounts.

This app is better than the others I have tried and is well worth the price. It is easy to use and learn, and is great for tracking expenses. I would like to see an option for crediting money in the same debit accounts. For example, I make a purchase but return the same product. I have an expense on the product, but crediting a separate account does not allow the cost to "wash" or zero out. Otherwise, fantastic app!

Aesthetically it's not the greatest. It feels like Quicken software from 15 years ago. But, I suppose looks aren't that important. Displays are smallish even when set to be large and they don't fit terribly well in my screen (LG G4). But, hey. It seems to work OK, and that's really all that matters.

I recently purchased your app after the trial period. Initially, I loved the flexibility offered by the program, but I'm a bit frustrated about a feature offered, but that doesn't work. Please fix the "Repeats every . . ." feature. Also, your help site doesn't offer anything useful. If you improve the site, or at least, fix the "repeating" feature, I will change my rating to five stars.

This basic checkbook ledger works fine, as long as you don't need to perform a backup. The backup seemed to work, but the restore function does not work. I would have been better off just using a piece of notebook paper. Not pleased at all.

The only issue I have had is having to recreate a brand new slate every time I get a new phone. I can't figure out how to back up or restore from the SD card. When I hit the "restore" button it takes me to a screen on the phone where I see a ton of the device's internal files and I can't decipher what's what. It's a real pain in the ass and I can't contact anyone to help me figure it out. Otherwise it'd be a perfect app.

I love the app, it is a great help in keeping my accounts in order. Just recently the app has been randomly changing the balances....if I flip to the next month then go back to the current month it will correct the balances, but it is an issue that needs fixed. There is one feature that I REALLY WISH the app had, and that is a search function. It would be very helpful to be able to search transactions by the payee, date, or transaction amount. I used a different checkbook app before this one, and that is one thing that I really miss not having available in this app. I would have given five stars if it had a search feature. I'm hoping that it will come in a future update.

Update: I now have Samsung Galaxy S8 and this app is the first appeared I downloaded, one app couldn't live without. updated: This is now the most used app on my galaxy s3. All the updates just keep making it better. I love this app. Just how I want a bank register. Anxious for the updates to enable resizing and removing columns.

Easy to use, has really helped me stay on budget and made keeping track of my expenses a breeze. But I have one suggestion; add a list were you can see reoccurring expenses. Then I would love it!

Great account management tool. I've been using it for a few years now and won't go back to paper. Use is intuitive, screen is uncluttered, cloud backup. Edited to say that since latest update, screens open in portrait before flipping to landscape. Doesn't affect function but it is darn annoying.

Easy to use and to track accounts. Wish I could import and export between my phone and tablet. My major problem with this program is I can't back up my files. I always get a message that tells Mr to"please download an app that can open this file". WHAT app?

This works great. I'm on disability and on fixed income so I need to keep a very close watch on my finances and this app helps me do that. I can enter in all my bills that I know the amounts of and their due dates then I know exactly what I have left for my essentials.

8/15/2015 - Updating from a previous entry. I would love to be able to run a report on a single payee. Like my electric bill or a particular credit card. I cannot do that now and it could be a deal breaker. -original post - I've been using checkbook pro for several months now and I have nothing but great things to say about it. Support is extremely responsive to my inquiries and the app does everything I need. I don't pay for many apps and this is one I'm glad I did.

Wish there was a way to split purchases to two different categories. Maybe that could happen on an update? Otherwise it's great. I quit using QuickBooks on my computer and went to this. :)

A couple of changes would make it better. I already emailed support about my suggestions (keeping cleared transactions in order in the list as they are cleared and recurring tranactions). Hopefully they can be implemented.

Great, looks just like paper register but when I bought it, the transfer from the trial didn't keep colors of categories or all the categories I had set, had to redo them all. Also, not all of the register fits on the screen, its a hair too big so you can't see both the item number at the left and the dollar amount at right unless you move back and forth. Its only a little off so I don't know why the designer did that.

The main reason I gave this app a try is the ability to backup to Dropbox. It works pretty well, but I can't figure out how to manage recurring transactions after setting them up. Might end up going back to the other one.

For some reason, my uncleared in my overall balances isn't matching what's actually uncleared in the ledger so now when I clear it puts my total balance negative...what's going on

Would be 5 star but, Can't save to SD card and recurring charges don't subtract from balance of future transactions like I set them. Also if you set it not to show your future balance the checkbook will take the unclear balance and subtract it from the balance a second time and you will be of that amount. So so it has to stay on for the balance to be right.

The app is great. No more carrying receipts in my wallet or losing a receipt and forgetting to write down in my checkbook. Would give 5* if I could save/print statement by month. When I try to Export one month, the whole account gets sent and I have to delete all the old stuff on Excel.

This checkbook app is so easy and convenient and is worth 20 stars; however, I can only give it a 5. I highly recommend it. Also, the customer service is very good, helpful and prompt to return answers to any questions you may have.

This app. is very easy to use. Works well but the only thing I dont like is backing up. It wont back up to SD card for some reason. It needs an easy backup feature just in case something happens. Any help.

This is a good app. Great for tax season. Wish the help area had an explanation for the recurring transactions. If there is one I did not see it. Sorry. Would like to see split transactions added.

WOW...thanks for replying to my suggestions.....i recently thought of another. ..i wish when i went to my checking acct, there was a setting to set the cursor where i prefer...like starting on the discription line instead of on check # line....i only write 2-3 checks a month anymore so i amost never use this line ..I'd rather go back to it on those occasions & be able to start entering the discription straight away on the other 40-50 entries.....thanks & keen improving!!

I have installed this app, and I have made my first month's entries and set up all of my accounts. I want to rate this 5 stars, except I cannot find the reconcilliation button and ask for help, I hear nothing. Please restore my faith.

My app won't download to Dropbox. Keeps giving an error with no way to know how to fix. I love the app but now can't transfer any of my information to another phone.

I emailed to Molovi Software and with in a very short time they helped me to solve my problem. Through my little knowledge of this app they showed me how to retrieve all my transactions thank you to the team work of this app I am back in business great job
