Chinese Dictionary+Flashcards

This would have gotten 5 stars a few months ago, but lately it has not let me add words to my cards - instead I get a prompt saying "unfortunately trainchinese has stopped." I've reported this a few times, but so far no fixes have happened.

It is not good , there is a problem with "the account" and because of that there is no sounds

As a free service I used Chinese Skill, but then I bought subscription to Train Chinese and it is just awesome. My Chinese improved in two months incredibly. FIFTY STARS! PS / the scanning feature doesnt work that well like in Hanping, which I use as an additional tool.

Give option to download sound instead of access online

It has been very helpful for me to learn words more easily.

An essential app for learning and practising Chinese characters. I have tried many apps but this and Hanping Pro are by far the best. I use them together as they have slightly different functions. The paid subscription is worth it as getting lessons/tutor will cost you more. Also, with this app you can learn Chinese at any time, in short or long intervals. I use it for an hour or two while putting the kids to bed.

My absolute favorite Chinese dictionary(and it works just as great offline) easy access to thousands of words and phrases it's really made the difference in my Chinese learning

Excellent tool! The only thing it misses is handwritten recognition of chinese characters, like, for example, is done in pleco dictionary.

Everytime I add new words from a list, if I accidentally hit the word as I'm trying to check or uncheck it, when I hit the back button, the list disappears and I have to start all over again looking for the list. So frustrating.

This is very helpful in learning chinese, however it would be even greater if it can be used when offline!

I use this to supplement my private chinese classes. This app lets me enter in a specific list all the words I learned and name it by date so I can practice easily. I purchased the lifetime membership because the free version has a limit on number of words/week. The reasons why I like this app: - it has the voice pronunciations - the flashcards are a combination of reading, listening comprehension, pinyin - there is a normal flashcard mode and a multiple choice - it has short phrases and example sentences with the definition - you can search by pinyin, hanzi or english to find the word you're looking for - you can pick and choose multiple lists when drilling - the entire dictionary can be used offline - it links with their audio trainer app by your folders My only feedback - i use the website to enter my vocab as its faster to type than peck on the phone, and creating lists using the website is kind of clunky and sometimes the search function doesn't work. i dont have this problem in the app. Great app though, very happy. A real way to really learn some Chinese, and its is free. Not sure why not many people using it. I'm sure NSA put some blocks on the search for this software, but somehow I found it. Sign up, type in a word, it will list all the sentences associated with that word. High quality lovely female voices.

I use this app to review and study Chinese characters. It is packed with information, lots of example sentences, highly engrossing and very fast and easy to use.

I've been searching a lot of apps for traditional Chinese and this one haves both options (simplified Chinese too). You must download this if you really want to learn Chinese!

I have used Train Chinese for five years and have been consistently impressed with its features and reliability. Paired with Google PinYin on my cell phone this app has been my most dedicated tool for improving my Chinese out of the classroom. And the flashcard widget ensures I see Chinese words every day.
