SG USB Mass Storage Enabler for Android
My phone is rooted but app keeps on telling me that it isn't. I even installed the root checker app and to confirm that it is rooted.. i have allow access to you app via SU but still doesn't work
Doesn't detect root access, though "granted root access" massage appears. Installed BusyBox but that didn't helped. Running on Android 6.0. Will try to make it work and rate 5⭐ if it will.
Nic app 4 SG mobile to use usb mass storage bcoz.some models dont have builtin mass storage option..nic work guyz.
May God bless this developers. A great app that have solved my galaxy core inabilities to connect with any PC. Thanks a zillion. ...six star
Just changes MTP mode into UMS mode but the device is not visible/accessible by file explorer. Meizu MX4 FlymeOS 4.03 (Android 4.4.2)
Superb, exactly what I was looking for. I *never* use the MTP mode, and rely heavily on connecting my Galaxy note as a Windows volume. I was getting sick of the procedure to manually put the device in mass storage mode every time I connected to the PC, and this app makes it a breeze. Thanks!
Requires root & busybox installation. After I installed this application I restarted my Verizon Ellipsis 7. Upon reboot, using this app I was able to successfully mount my 32gb SD card via USB Mass Storage. Thanks for the great functionality! I've missed my direct UMS connection.
I love this app it solved my last longing problem but one more thing it showes my sd card name as blackberry dont understand why it change the name when im using andriod apart from that every other thing is perfect love it
Great. I can see thumbnails now instead of generic file icons on my SD card, but can't rename or copy/move. Despite fact I'm rooted, this thing won't mount card with read/write permission. It's read only. Useless to me. Galaxy S3
Not it just did not work. It is also asked to download and install some other program. Both programs were complicated to install, which took a lot of time to read all that bs. Poor. I need a simple and a working app.
Works great on Jelly Bean but not KitKat. Widget icon always shows UMS Off regardless of current state. Hopefully it can be made to work on KitKat soon. Did the upgrade to KitKat and regret it greatly. Please get this app working on KitKat. Regards.
After a bit of messing around to enable root access finally got this to work on KitKat. Not 100% certain if just root access alone made it work as I have customised a fair bit of the firmware
Everytime I run this app, it says I do not have root installed. I do, and Busybox is installed. I've power cycled, reinstalled Busybox but nothing works. I'm running other apps that require root with no problems!
There's a way I can mount my phone to my PS3 ?? Cause I connect the phone to my PS3 and do it doesn't do anything. I will rate this app 5 stars if you guys fix this minor problem
Works great on my S4 (Cyanogenmod 10.2), but on my Note 8.0 (stock Samsung software), it shows up as a read-only CD drive... better than nothing I suppose... any idea how to fix that? Still, really useful... mass storage should never have been removed from newer Android versions. Might try Cyanogenmod on my Note just to get this to work... that's how essential mass storage mode is.
Didn't work initially on my Samsung Galaxy S4 MINI but it seems fine now that I have updated BusyBox. It's ridiculous though that we have to restor to third-party software to reclaim functionality that was already present in previous releases of Android, and that has been tried and tested for many years and works on all desktop OSs without the need for device-specific drivers. Google wipe their bum on all this goodness and hand us the biggest pile of sh*t they've ever assembled: MTP.
Terible Terible Terible app Especially! If you are trying to get in contact with the develop. (or you have any issues with the app)
Hi, worked fine on S4 Mini on JB, but after the KK update is broken. Still 5 stars as this is still an awesome app, but if possible try to fix it for KK. I can see a Removable Disk but it is not accessible.
Nic app 4 SG mobile to use usb mass storage bcoz.some models dont have builtin mass storage option..nic work guyz.
It worked like a charm on the stock rooted 4.2 ROM but after flashing CM11, it has stopped working. Please help. The app is really necessary for me. Phone- i9082 galaxy grand duos.
On a freshly rooted U.S. Cellular variant G900R4 galaxy s5..I want to spend the few dollars to get pro..but if I do that will I be able to use it as a mass storage for my ps3, or is that just not an option yet? I hate having to sync my media servers each time and continuously pulling my sd card out to put in my adapter is bad on the card. Can some helpful folks point me in the right direction? Other than that works flawlessly thanks bunches. If I can get my ps3 issue sorted I'll definitely give 5 stars!
Did every little thing it told me to and still not letting me access my storage on my pc. I can even see that my pc has a drive for it (F:) but inaccessible.
Rooted phone followed instructions xbox 360 doesn't see my phone still. Just wanna watch media stored on sd card in phone cause wifi doesn't work well where I'm at. Someone please help
worked for me on a s4 mini android 4.2.2 stock rom, didnt work on 4.4.2 CM11 (but i've read somewhere that mass storage was completly removed on this version, i've also tried similar apps and neither worked)
I too am experiencing the dreaded "CD drive" issue. I would GREATLY appreciate it if the developer(s) would fix this! I've been wanting a program like this ever since I got the phone. I'm using an SGH-i747, the AT&T (US) model, on stock 4.3 Jelly Bean. EDIT: It's STILL showing up as a CD drive! PLEASE tell me how to fix this! Thanks.
ERROR MESSAGE : An error occurred while identifying the SD Cars. The card is either not ready or not properly inserted. If there is one inserted, please exit the application and try again, if it still doesn't work, please contact the developer via e-mail. Please go through it.
In order to use this you also need a compatible kernel that permits the use of ums. In my case for the note 3 it's the compulsion kernel.
Just changes MTP mode into UMS mode but the device is not visible/accessible by file explorer. Meizu MX4 FlymeOS 4.03 (Android 4.4.2)
App finds root, but can't find mounted SD card. My SD card is mounted, and SDFIX has been applied. Don't know why it can't be found.
This worked rather well on my s3. Not so much on the s5, but I'm sure the author is hard at work.
It doesn't work on the note 3. It only comes up as a E:/ CD-ROM drive. Is there anyway to fix this. I would really love to use the sd card as a bootable for ubuntu.
This app brought back my favorite feature from gingerbread.. usb mass storage, so I can pop my phone into my stereo and just listen to tunes. No messing around with unlock or clicking buttons. Works with galaxy note 2 (4.1.1)
I'm running KitKat on i9500, and it doesn't work. It showed up as "removable disk" in Windows Explorer, but inaccessible. It did work when I'm using JB 4.3
This app is great overall on my AT&T S4. Having weird issue where after I enter mass storage mode, and then unmount I get complaints of corrupt packages on the desktop.... weird.
At&t galaxy s4(sgh-i337) worked on JB after the Kk update it stopped working. When you switch modes the phone disappears from windows as usual but get an error about mounting SD card.
It worked under my previous 4.2.2 Android. Doesn't seem to work now under kit kat Gummy. Anyway hope that this gets improved. But having said that and used this for quite sometime, this is a very good app.
This worked great on my Note 2 running 4.3. But when I upgraded to 4.4, it stopped working UNTIL I found a workaround. Here's how I got mine to work. I installed this SG USB Mass Storage Enabler (I'm using the app, not the widget). Then I installed another App called Multi Mount SD-Card Lite (must created a widget on this one). Step 1. Plug USB. Step 2. Open SG USB Mass... and press "Mass Storage Mode". Press OK to clear the Error and Press "Mass Storage Mode" again. Step 3. Press the Multi Mount SD...widget to mount the extSD Card. Unplug USB and plug it back in. I'm able to see, read, write, execute, etc. my extSD on my PC.
"An error occured while identifying the SD Card..." I have a 32 gB SD card installed. The tablet is running Android 4.4.2 and it is rooted; I had SU grant full access to the App. Guess it just isn't compatible with my tablet :( I so wanted this App to work. Being stuck with MTP is horrible: I can't use TeraCopy or any of my usual file sync tools, MTP is slow as molasses on big video files, and unstable as well. I hope the developer can extend this app to more models of tablets and phones!
Thank you. But my pc don't diplay device redy to use, but is recognized.

Keep telling me that the "device is not rooted" after granted root via supersu. A bug makes it totally useless on my phone. Fyi.. the device is rooted, and root is verified. I hope the dev will fix it.. Device: note 4 @ android 6.0.1
