About mobreg
We have made an application "mobreg"(short for mobile registration) which is based on semester registration of students in Graphic Era University.
The application opens up with a Splash activity for one second. Then a menu presents itself which has four options that include: Instructions, Register, Contact Us, About Us.
The 'Register' menu includes our main application form for registration. It opens up a page which accesses the mobile camera. The user has to simply click two pictures: one of his/her fee-receipt and the other of his/her own self. On clicking the 'Next' button, the registration form opens which contains the parameters that need to be filled (and are present in the Graphic Era semester registration form) by the user (student) for registration. We have added validations on the fields so that no user submits blank form or wrong values while simultaneously allowing multiple correct inputs (like for name: Abc, Abc Xyz, A. X. Yzabc, etc are possible). On clicking the 'Next' button, the user is directed to a page from where he/she can mail his/her information to the administrator. On clicking the 'Send Email' button, the device's e-mail service is accessed and an e-mail is displayed to the user which has sender field filled with admin ID 'neh.mobreg@gmail.com' and the body of the e-mail contains all form entries the user had filled. It also reminds the user to attach the two pictures (of himself/herself and his/her receipt) clicked by him/her to the e-mail. After sending the mail, the user is directed back to the page with the 'Send Email' button. This page also has an 'Exit' button which on clicking, asks for confirmation to exit, and then moves the application to the background (as it is good practice to not forcibly kill an Android application and followed by all Android applications like Google Chrome, Whatsapp, Flickr etc which on exiting are only minimised and still run in the background).
