Oxford Dictionary of English Free for Android
The best part about it is phrasal verb and proverbs all in this dictionary. But I wish feature present in paperback version like 'compare' should also be given. E.g. In paperback version when i look up the word 'acute accent', right beneath it there is given compare circumflex accent, grave accent etc. I hope this will too come out in this dictionary. Introduction of new database is a welcome move. But too costly for offline use!
Great app. Few suggestions — Add a dark theme, Move 'enable offline content' and 'catch search index' to internal folder, so it doesn't get deleted by clearing cache. also, the 'tap to translate' is very glitchy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If those things get fixed it'll certainly get 5 stars.
I purchased it because the ads were annoying. $12 for a quality, dictionary I can use on my BlackBerry KEYone and Samsung Tablet is well worth it. It's very useful!
It's so irritating that a add plays in the form of voice clip whenever I try to search a word. Guys you need to understand....This make huge noise in library....And highly embarrassing. You can play add....But voice add.... Certainly diluting image of Oxford....????????????????
BEWARE OF LATEST UPDATE... I have the paid for version and the latest update has wiped my offline definitions, when I try to use it the app appears, but any search produces error message "dictionary not found"
You should go offline without paying that money and upload the word daily And also bring some difficult words. I hope you should pay attention to my review Please bring some changes in your aap so that I'll give you five stars..
Word of the day is usually not interesting not applicable foe me and I was HARRASSED to give rating. I PAID for this, rating is optional. Definitions somewhat abridged. Could have saved $ and kept using Google.
Its a good dictionary. But what to do with it if it even cannot give pronounciation without premium. Its waste of money. We can even buy a physical dictionary with PKR 2500 something. :(
It helps us to find meanings and it is outstanding. I has given four stars out of five because I bored of seeing only one kind of add plzzz bring different kind of adds.
It's amazing. The number of advertisements, though numerous, are understandable because one can't dole out such a great piece of work for free. Other than that, there's nothing that I can complain about.
Full screen unskippable ad as soon as I opened it, then all text partially obscured by semi transparent overlays, and flashing ads at the bottom. Completely unusable.
A little disappointed that you have to pay to hear the word read out, based on that I may as well just use my web browser instead of the app.
It is so useful dictionary and easy to useful . And I wrote these words because I am a student who Is studying in class 6 and there are so much hard words which are often confused me and when I searched by this dictionary it will help me
I think this dictionary still ok because i haven't use it before.
Now i don't have to carry a large dictionary with me. *and easy to use*
I have upgraded to Premium with a 50% discount, but, unfortunately regretted because pronouncing voice is definitely disappointing and relatively terrible :( I hope it will be improved in a a short time or I will have to look for another dictionary
This app not working with same easy way when use on Apple products
Absolutely useless! Full of ads .. love to see ads install the app
I would like a refund of my purchase, that was by mistake.plz coprate
It is a dictionary, it's purpose is to be a dictionary. Why, then, does it need to access photos, media and Contacts? I have serious trust issues with apps which need too much access.
Neat app to have. Adds easily avoidable by clicking 'back'. Many thanks!
The main demerit of the app is for every thing it refers for premium like pronunciation, Add-free ect. At least pronunciation should be free.
How say boring he or she is totally mad
It's ok. It is not the OED. If you ever secretly wanted your own copy of the Oxford English Dictionary, and your heart fluttered at the thought of downloading the entire OED to your phone for $10-$20, this dictionary will leave you with a pit of disappointment lodged between your stomach and your heart.
It is not clear meaning properly , I don't like it
Use less app...there are many more dictionary apps which are free to use and are more convinient
The ads are very intrusive and full screen. Deleting the app after looking up two words.
Very bad dictionary.. Always begs for money.
A lot of unnecessary distractions due to add
it's not nice or practical and it's not free and ads they do awful and baaaad
Too many adds no offline version and do not work online properly
Wi-fi problems and I can't use sometimes
If we will put the camera to catch that words picture we can't catch only we can't click only to click and send a photo
Ok but Too many adds disturbs me
I have got what I needed. Thank you so much Oxford Dictionary! Yo people, if you are looking for the best dictionary then I suggest Oxford dictionary.
Nonsense app,full of ads,I don't like it
It like a good idea of by buy not just using as in mobile the cost of Oxford is so much it is better to use
Great. Everyday it's giving New word everyday...
The camera did not work

Premium App won't meet your expectations I'm afraid if you look for a high quality audio pronunciation. It's not an exaggeration to say that the sound quality is very dissapointing. The Dictionary itself is undoubtedly worth recommending especially for more advanced learners. I wish it had more examples how to use particular words in sentences. Tap to translate feature does not work with The Economist app. :(
