Collins French Dictionary for Android
This app does not contain rare words. Nor does it translate slightly unusual words : you won't be able to translate all words on a single New York Times page, there is always something amiss. (Examples : caliper, cosset.)
Useful Apps but it took me AGES to discover how to swap between the two languages. Please make it clear!
Great app, though not as robust as its hard copy counterpart.
Hsndy as a French reference in your pocket.
I've used this app for years. Highly recommended.
Very helpful and good easy to use.
Its fine

This is a decent dictionary app in itself. However, it has a poorly configured switch between phone and tablet layouts, and the user cannot override the decision. On my Nexus 6P, with small text and small display settings, the app chooses the tablet mode, which makes it extremely cramped and difficult to use. There is no way to change this short of changing my display settings globally in a way that degrades all other apps. Please provide a way to configure this, and adjust size thresholds.
Thanks to the help of the support team, the issue below has now been cured. {It keeps asking for the redeem code. If you have an internet connection it then reactivates. If not, you're stuffed.}
Decent app-- should add verb conjugation
Watch out for auto playing video ads in the trial version. Such a terrible idea when this app is often used in a classroom situation. I was considering purchasing the app, but I'm going to go with a different one cause of this silly practice.
Please can you get rid of the awful auto-search facility as you type a word in - it makes the whole process so slow with the constant searching being performed? Or at least the option to disable it?
Infested with full screen and inline ads that completely destroy the flow and experience.
Great app; however, would be great if they integrated the audio pronunciation clips like on the main website.
We can find almostly all words, even literature words also. Most useful and trusted
Great dictionary. Could use more example sentences, etc. tho
Wow
Very useful.
Good
I already bought this app long ago. I have it installed on another device. However, on a new device, I'm told I never bought it, and am asked to pay again, even though I bought it with the same account. It appears that with the latest version, MobiSystems is attempting to double-dip, charging twice for the same content.
Annoying pop up for a review. It isn't a 5* app - there is no speech option and sometimes need to use Google translate for missing words.
Just freezes my Note4 .therefore useless
Excellent for beginners. Comprehensive coverage on gender for nouns and examples of usage to propagate familiarity with French grammar.
Easy and quick to use; also liked the fact that various uses / contexts of a word are given.
Love the fact it is quickly accessible to urgent consultations...lovely!!
Fantastic customer service
No complaints
Just a trial....
Well presented
Perfect dictionary :-)
Super
Loved it
I bought the full version because the online version of collins dictionaries is very thorough and I wanted an easier way to access but I am kind of disappointed. If the application also included the example sentences and was as detailed as the online dictionary, I could have said that my money was well spent. Also I wish I could hear pronunciations.
I had the paid for version on my tablet, then I clicked to install an update only to find I now have to pay again for the updated version. I think there should have been a warning and an option to stick with the previous version. I'm not happy with this underhand way of extorting money from me.
I use the Collins dictionary for an ipad. It has the words and meanings on the left and full verb conjugation on the right. I downloaded and paid for this app thinking it was the same as the ipad app. I was very disappointed. Unless I havent worked it out I cannot find any verb conjugations. It is a waste of money.

I bought this app years ago and have been very happy with it (apart from the odd occasion when it lost all data) but I've just experienced the 'visual overhaul' which appears to be designed for children. How do I get back to a functional grown-up dictionary? I also see the in-app rating only allows five stars! - completely dishonest.
