Geografía Bíblica Cristiana te enseña los lugares de la Biblia así como una descripción de los hechos más importantes acontecidos en ellos. Consulta o estudia en profundidad una gran cantidad de lugares bíblicos gracias a los relatos contenidos en la Biblia.

Objetivo de la Geografía Bíblica.
El estudio cuidadoso de la geografía histórica de las tierras bíblicas es importante
por dos razones:
1. Estas regiones han ejercido una inmensa influencia sobre nuestro mundo
occid
ental. No solo en detalles como el alfabeto, la metalurgia, la astronomía,
medicina, etcétera... sino más fundamentalmente en la herencia de la religión judío
cristiana.
2. El estudio de la geografía es necesario para el entendimiento de la Biblia.
Los elementos necesarios para el estudio de la geografía son:
-- El mapa bíblico. Es una enumeración de ciudades no en orden lógico o alfabético, sino territorial. Los orígenes del mapa bíblico los podemos situar en el antigüo Egipto ya que es en este imperio donde poseemos algunas relaciones de ciudades palestinenses, escritas sobre fragmentos de cerámica, tablillas de arcilla y en muros de construcciones monumentales.
-- Las tablillas de Amarna. Son cerámicas tipo ladrillo. En 1900 a.C. se escribieron en cerámica ciertos nombres de ciudades cananeas en algunas vasijas que eran destinadas a ser rotas. Se escribía el mensaje que después de leer se rompía. Han llegado a nuestros días fragmentos encontrados hacia el 1930 al norte de la Palestina y la Mesopotamia.
-- Las ostracas son pedazos de cerámica, jarros donde se escribía algún texto.
-- En Muros se ponía algún dibujo o escrito, sobre todo en las entradas.
-- Estellas son tablillas de piedra o cerámica donde se ponían escritos importantes.
-- Textos de execración son figuritas con escrituras (textos de maldición por lo general).
-- Listas de ciudades. El AT nos ofrece algunas de estas listas, las cuales nos presentan una auténtica geografía bíblica puesto que expresan en los mismos términos categoría bíblicas (Gn.10; Jos 13,21; II Cron 11,6-10).
-- Listas del Corpus Profético. Amos 1 distribuye las naciones desde el punto de vista geográfico. Hech 3 menciona los participantes y sus ciudades. Entre el AT y nosotros median otras fuentes: historiadores clásicos extrabiblícos: Herodoto, Plinio, Estrabon, y Ptolomeo. Las obras más importantes que nos presenta la antigua topografía palestinense es el "Onomasticon" de Eusebio Esbita en el 330 a.C.
-- Mapas estructurados. El mosaico de Madaba del año 600 d.C. en el piso de una iglesia ortodoxa en la transjordania. Se conserva aún pero incompleto. La tabula petingeriana es un mapa mundial de ríos de comunicación reducido a una tira de 8 mts. de largo por 33 cms. de ancho, dividida en 12 secciones. El original podría ser del s. III d.C., mientras que la copia que ha llegado a nosotros es de 1225 d.C. la cual se conserva en la Biblioteca Nacional de Viena.

For two reasons:
