Aplicación oficial de la fundación española de afectados por Atrofia Muscular Espinal, orientada hacia la investigación de las causas y posibles tratamientos para detener el progreso de la AME, la mejora de la calidad de vida de los afectados y el acceso a tratamientos que detengan o remitan la enfermedad.

La Atrofia Muscular Espinal (AME) es una enfermedad neuromuscular, de carácter genético, que se manifiesta por una pérdida progresiva de la fuerza muscular. Esto ocurre debido a la afectación de las neuronas motoras de la médula espinal, que hace que el impulso nervioso no se pueda transmitir correctamente a los músculos y que éstos se atrofien.
