For HTC Blinkfeed integration of News Republic it's a desaster. No news are loading, or news from feed that I deactivated are still loaded. News Republic please give up of supporting the HTC Blinkfeed, HTC is doing better without you. Please be honest and publish this. Edit: Just wrote u thru the app feedback sistem. Last update just reset the language and region and activated push notification. You are hungry for users

How is it NR is rated 4.3 when everyone gives 1 star? Interesting how most 5 ratings have no comments. I would wager they're paid-for ratings to inflate its real score. NR bombards you with totally inappropriate adverts including SCAMS!! Constantly adds new content providers to my feed that I don't want, forces you to be an advertising bot for NR. Will never buy another HTC until NR is dead or loses the contract

If it ain't broke, why the f_/ck break it? This app was so good at consolidating news I cared to read about that I paid the subscription. Now it's worse than the worst tabloid trash magazine. All I get is fake news. You had your chance news republic; bye bye permanently.

Yes there are many need sources in the app, but most of them are junk. Articles seem to be written by whoever wants to write them - might be OK for some people, but I prefer my news to come from reputable sources that fact check and edit their work.

This app used to give me actual news from reputable sources but it's turned into like a BuzzFeed of sensational and clickbait articles that are not serious for the most part. Also the way it turns it's push notifications on by itself as well as planting a shortcut on my home screen without warning makes me feel like it's malware. But it's not. It's just now a portal for amusing articles which I guess is good if you want to be entertaining reading how someone scammed Amazon in getting free samples. SMH..

What have you done... A brilliant app that I could select a range of interesting news sources to this junk. Can't sign in with my email. Can't select my sources rubbish spam notifications (immediately switched off)... What the hell is my subscription for... Not sure now. If only I could get a refund. I'm not sure who your are trying to appeal to but its definitely not me. Uninstall, cancel subscription

Since updating the app i don't get my 2 favorite newspapers anymore. I'm following The Independent and The Telegraph however there are no news articles at all and it's been like that for an entire week!! I feel like deleting the whole thing as what's left isn't worth reading. I shouldn't have updated the damn thing!!

Was my main new aggregation app. However recent changes have turned this into click-bait gossip and opinion pieces. Unable to select news sources now so you are overloaded with fluff news and items of no interest. Important and factual journalism does not seem to be priority for this app. Why "fix" an app that was fully functional and customisable? Can't even select night mode now. Poor choices have forced me to cancel my subscription

This new version of News Republic is lousy and I have decided to uninstall it. Previously, I liked its breaking news as my screensaver and I paid one year subscription for it to be ads free. Now this 1 year subscription which I had paid has become useless and my money wasted because the new version changed everything

The latest update really ruined this app. All it shows me is a bunch of stupid celebrity gossip and dumb news. It used to be a really good AP the way you could select your own tips to follow.

Horrible layout that is harder to navigate, widget is gone, it deleted my account so my ad-free subscription is voided, content is very weak from weak news sources. Luckily, the old app is still on my tablet. I'm deleting on my phone. Good job guys...

This app is terrible. It obviously updated because it just suddenly started spamming me with absolute drivel and random nonsense articles. I have never ever opened this app apart from today to find and turn off the stupid notifications. And indirectly if the only reply you have is a copy and paste of the whole " partnership with HTC" rubbish then don't bother replying. You can't force people to use your crappy app . Edit crappy app gets more crappy with crappy enforced pop-ups with no way to turn off

Like many are saying, this was, not long ago, the best news app. It was the easiest to sort what I want to see and where, and most importantly, the great widget tools were very customizable and looked professional. But then.... the update. Why would you have ever even considered removing the widgets? That was the best part of this app, that had every other news app beat - but now it's useless. I'm gonna keep it installed, because it's been my favorite for a long time, and I do like a couple changes that were made, such as the comments sections.... But if I don't see these concerns addressed soon, I'm out. And that sucks.

After the update the app went sideways, no more related topics to local newspapers and above all, after getting it in the custom topic, I can't watch online posts from newspapers without twitter. Why twitter? Why doing harm on a such good app? I'll keep it on one more week and if it isn't repaired I'll uninstall, unfortunatly

This is the worst update to an app I have experienced. All of my settings have been erased, yet again. This should never happen, I have better things to do in my life than constantly reset my news sources and topics.The new layout is confusing. The OLD tile layout was clear and it was easy to select topics and sources. I suggest you restore the old version of this app along with everyones previous settings until you work out how to update an app without deleting them.

Downgraded from 5 stars to 3. It WAS one of my most favorite apps, and hands down my favorite news app, but now the widget is gone and I am using a very new phone and Android version, and I can't log in to my profile. If the widget stays gone I will uninstall it and switch to an app with a widget I like.

I'm incredibly dissapointed with the recent update. Now that I'm unable to choose my sources the app is unusable. You are bombarded with dross about the Kardashians and the only option is to manually go through and say you're not interested in the source, not that it seems to make any difference. If it wasn't impossible to uninstall the app from my HTC it would have been long gone.

This app seems to pick up articles from random places and feed them to you indiscriminately. The feed is full of snake oil health advice, and partisan political articles. And not just political articles that have a perspective, the kind that use vitriolic language and weasel words from both sides. It is so hard to find any real news I have given up using it. Unfortunately, it is native to my phone and I can't delete without rooting it.

The new update changed the app completely! Instead of real news I'm getting Kardashians and weird health tips, plus local papers nothing to do with me! I spent an hour cancelling papers and blogs saying "not interested" and they are all still there. Will uninstall app.

Used to be a great way of getting a range of sources for news to get a range of takes on events. Now just clickbait nonsense, no matter how hard I try and change it. For some reason world news is sex in the city stars getting into a fight and reasons why aldi checkout staff scan so quickly.... Avoid.

This used to be my favorite news app and the only one I would ever consider referring to friends and family. Since the update though that has definitely changed. Now it is much harder to find my curated news that I care about. Additionally I am constantly being spammed by fake news that I don't want to see. It's really sad because this app used to be the best, but now it is just trash. Uninstalled.

If clickbait made an app it would be this rubbish. NO REAL NEWS! How hard is it to show real news? Can't even uninstall from HTC so now just a waste of memory. Embarrassing that it calls itself a news app.

I have subscribed to this app as i have been using it for years now.... i loved it! Now all the options have gone, i cant see options for appearing on my lock screen the new menu layout seems limited. I am all for updates but not to the detriment of the people that use it. I would suggest you revert the app back to the previous state and then seriously look at why people are giving you really bad comments for the past few days! If this app doesn't improve quickly, I will be cancelling my subscription and look for a different news app.... this current update is having a negative impact on your user base!

How do I get rid of this permanently? I really don't want you guys sending me click-bait garbage every day. I've turned off push notifications three times. I hate this.

Connecting my account to Facebook, it says that my account is banned. Tried deleting the app from Facebook but News Republic app is still showing me as logged in and account banned. I can't even log out! Please fix this mess. It's such a beautiful app only to be let down by poor updates. Using HTC Blinkfeed here...

Until the new update you could comment without people know who you are. They changed that to needing to know all your personal info. Will be deleting app as I can get my news from many other sources.

I hate the fact that it's biasly monitored. Articles that has some measure are removed, especially in the political arena with all the nonsense going on in our country. People report you because you hit them with facts and or questions that expose their arrogance, prejudices, hate and biases.. they get mad report you and suddenly you no longer has access.. if you save articles for future viewing or reference and it has anything to do with our political climate they automatically removes it, which means one has no control over their own account and what intrigues them.

Used to really like this app. What happened to all the additional news sources? I used to like how I was able to group my news by created categories. Not liking the new format; it seems haphazard. Also, why when I refresh does it not give me the most recent news first? Hopefully things will improve or may need to reconsider my subscription.

Hate it since update and uninstalled it. I liked the old tiled app and there's to much rubish articles on the new one with a horrible new layout which is hard to navigate and find the news you want also no options to change layout or choice of settings

Do not install. If you do you can not uninstall no matter how many times you do it. Also pops up adds when phone is unlocked, trying to get on other apps or just doing anything. I had a reply saying its in partnership with HTC. Well I'm not HTC and do not want your fake news on my phone or anywhere to that point.

Every time it updates on my phone, push notifications automatically enable and it causes my battery to drain even faster than usual. I would uninstall from my phone if I could, however it's just one of the many useless pieces of bloatware that came with my phone that I'm unable to get rid of

Hate this app but can't get rid of it because it is pre-installed on HTC phones it's annoying, not content I want, bad grammar and no proof reading on articles. Just spams me with random stories slows down my phone and reinstalls itself every time I take it off

After using both the new and previous versions, I can say without any doubt, that you're after a mind numbing list of moronic magazine style articles that suffocate you with marketing and opinion, then this is for you. If you want a reader that provides hard hitting, factual, and thoughtful articles, look elsewhere.

But something is missing... Oh yeah, no local news. I personally do not like the social media aspect that has been recently been added. However, I know many people like to put their lives and opinions out there all the time for everyone to see. To each their own. Good to see the attempts to upgrade and make the app better. FOLLOW UP: News Republic contacted me about my comment and let me know they were adding local news as they could...and they have. Excellent customer service. I am not liking the updates and changes to the interface. More magazine type articles than news also are part of the reason I downgraded my rating.

I'm so tired of these apps that make it difficult to post a comment without all kinds of stupid distractions like putting the back button directly above the send button. There is already post button ON the comment page why is there one on the keyboard? Failed app! And isn't this a recently updated app? Inexcusable failure!

Awful. Can't curate sources anymore back to being spammed with irrelevant rubbish from useless news sources that can't be removed or selected. Still relying on not using native browser so most of the content doesn't load properly...

Don't want to use this app and it gets forcing itself on me. With every update, it always auto notifies me about the stupid headlines. I don't care! I wish I could delete this app from my phone.

Full of news bots, russian sputnik, newsbusters etc, updated version sucks worse than ever no way to block all the fake news, erased all my preferences. Takes forever to load articles, even longer than before! Totally ruined an already so-so app.

The new update is disasterous! Most of the pages I had previously saved to my account are gone. There's a topic section, but you can just choose the news provider, not the actual topic. It was htc and google and apple and other stuff for me, but now there aren't such topics and I have to search for them manually. It's totally bothering. All the shiny things that had made me fall in love with the app are gone. Pleaaaase! You've update the app to improve it, not make everything worse while it was just ok! It's the wrong way. You'll lose even the most faithful users.

This was a great app that I've been using for a long time and have it 5 stars until a genius decided it was better to remove the detailed topics that everyone is hooked on and subscribed to. Very poor decision!
