About Brixington Primary School
Welcome to Brixington Primary School. We are a large Primary School with an age range of 3 – 11 year olds (to include provision for nursery age children) in Devon’s largest town, Exmouth. Our school is made up of two sites, the lower, formally the Infant School, and upper, formally the Junior School. Following their amalgamation in 2004, the school became known as Brixington Community Nursery and Primary School, changing to Brixington Primary School in 2009. Both buildings were originally built in the late 1960s early 1970s following the development of the then relatively new Brixington estate. Pupils work within three distinct phases of the school starting in our Foundation Stage Unit (FSU), then Key Stage One (KS1) and finally Key Stage Two (KS2). Our curriculum follows that prescribed in the National Curriculum in KS1-2. Currently, children are taught in single year groups. Teachers are ably supported by a range of skilled Teaching Assistants who work with individuals and groups of pupils both in and out of class.
